ROLE PURPOSE

This is an exciting new role which will build on an existing programme of supporting patient engagement in research, clinical trial development  and clinical trials for lupus at a time of increased interest and activity in this area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery

• Act as the first point of contact for researchers and pharma companies seeking to involve members of the public in their research or trials.
• Work to build a network of patients around the UK with an interest in being involved with PPIE.
• Work with the Health Information Manager to identify and facilitate any support needs of the PPIE network.
• Support and facilitate PPIE in all stages of lupus research.
• Support PPIE in Lupus UK’s research grants process.
• Support engagement with diverse under-served communities.
• Ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion considerations in PPIE methods and communications

Other

• Uphold the values and expectations of LUPUS UK.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience of working directly with patients and/or members of the public.
• Experience of supporting Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activity.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
• Experience of working in PPIE within a similar environment (desirable).
• Experience of working within research or the health sector (desirable).
• Experience of working with stakeholders, such as healthcare organisations, public groups,and professional networks (desirable).

Job Title: Member and Supporter Experience Coordinator

Team: Member and Supporter Experience

Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and London), 1 day minimum a week in office in London Bridge.

This role is open to both full-time applicants and part-time applicants, happy to do a job-share.

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £26,887 to £42,371. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £34,629 depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Context and purpose of role

At the heart of the Ramblers lies our community of over 100,000 members and supporters, enabling us to fulfil our charitable mission across the length and breadth of Great Britain.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of excellent supporter service, coaching and empowering the Member and Supporter Experience Officers to meet the needs of our supporters. You will play a key role in fostering a positive experience for supporters, managing relationships with third-party suppliers, and driving continuous improvements across processes and systems. As a key point of contact for internal teams, you will traffic-control workloads, ensure smooth project delivery, and act as a champion for supporters across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with experience in working in high in-bound volume (calls/emails) supporter or customer service environments. The candidate must have experience in handling multiple enquiries across different channels and ideally in coaching, mentoring or supervising others.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Coaching

• Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision for Member and Supporter Experience Officers, ensuring workloads are evenly distributed, priorities are clear, and deadlines are met.
• Lead regular check-ins and team huddles to review progress, share updates, and address any challenges or blockers, in consultation with the Head of Member and Supporter Experience.
• Coach and support Member and Supporter Experience Officers, providing the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent supporter service through tailored training and coaching
• Support the monitoring of quality and productivity using satisfaction ratings, and performance measures. Take remedying actions, such as further training or support, in consultation with the Head of Member and Supporter Experience.
• Co-ordinate key business project delivery within Supporter Care, liaising with other teams, coaching the team, and supporting delivery.

Supplier and Project Management

• Manage relationships with key suppliers, including our payment processor, and fulfilment centre. Be responsible for briefing them on new projects and setting up procedures.
• Monitor supplier SLAs and performance measures, ensuring consistently high standards. Manage projects with third-party suppliers to time and budget.
• Proactively identify new solutions or efficiencies to improve working practices.

Operational Oversight

• Oversee the scheduling and management of team rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for incoming enquiries, including peak periods and project delivery deadlines.
• Support the induction and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to excel in their roles.
• Act as the first point of contact for incoming requests from other teams and campaign briefings, managing the team’s workload and rota.
• Provide KPIs on request from the Head of Member and Supporter Experience. Deliver KPI, SLA and insight reporting that drives better decision-making.

High standard supporter care

• Support the team daily in answering incoming enquiries as part of the role.
• Develop and maintain a framework for monitoring the quality of supporter interactions across all touch points and teams through call monitoring, complaints and compliments reporting, surveys, mystery shopping, satisfaction feedback and other performance measures. Where needed, work with relevant managers in other teams to develop solutions.
• Regularly review the quality of interactions handled by team members (e.g., through spot-checking emails, calls, and case resolutions), offering constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Cross-Team Collaboration and Advocacy

• Work closely with teams across the organisation to build and maintain knowledge bases that can be used by all teams to respond to queries and concerns, and to support teams in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 
• Act as an ambassador for members and supporters across the organisation, sharing insights with colleagues.
• Maintain strong relationships across the Ramblers, including Ramblers Cymru and Scotland, ensuring the team delivers a high standard of service aligned with organisational priorities.
• Attend project planning meetings to ensure high-quality supporter care and brief the Supporter Care Team on new projects.

Continuous Improvement

• Demonstrate a proactive approach to improving processes, reducing response times and enhancing supporter satisfaction.
• Proactively identify training needs for team members based on performance trends, and coordinate tailored training sessions to address gaps.

Volunteer and Digital Engagement

• Manage office volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and supported to carry out their tasks effectively.
• Input into the development of new digital products (e.g., website and mobile) to enhance membership value and support volunteer-led recruitment and retention efforts.

Other

• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post

We are looking for an energetic Immigration Adviser (OISC Level 2) to provide advice and casework to destitute migrants, including mothers accessing the Magpie Project.

We provide legal advice and a range of welfare support including group work. The Magpie Project is a community space that supports mothers with under 5-year olds who are subject to the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) Condition. A key part of this role will involve outreach at The Magpie Project’s community center in Newham where immigration assessments will be undertaken. As the community centre is a women-only space, the post-holder will need to be a woman so they can attend outreach. The postholder will also carry a caseload of cases from the Magpie Project, as well as other avenues when the need arises.

The partnership with Magpie aims to provide immigration advice services directly in a community space where trust has already been established, and where mums can access a variety of other support services at the same location.  

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of immigration and asylum law, as well as have a good understanding of the challenges faced by migrants with NRPF and those at risk of homelessness. They will be able to step immediately into a busy advice environment that includes independent outreach.

About the Role

Head of Fundraising (full time employment contract)

St James’s Church Piccadilly is at an exciting moment in its 340 year history. Fundraising for the ‘Wren Project’, a £20m capital campaign, and plans for an endowment campaign, are well underway and the team is progressing well towards its initial target. 

This new role will lead the staff team, liaising closely with the contracted Director of Development, in ensuring the Wren Project funding is delivered, and that necessary funds for the social outreach, arts programming and running costs of the church are raised in a timely and effective manner.

We are now seeking an assistant to support our team to support rewilding innovation and growth. The Rewilding Network is now approaching its 4 year anniversary, and since its launch has reached a membership of over 1,000 members at various scales. We are also implementing our new 2025-2030 strategy which will work towards growing the movement of rewilding through providing additional support to practitioners rewilding on land and at sea. You will help us to support these practitioners through knowledge exchange and creating a vibrant community. Job purpose: 

To assist with the management and development of our support for rewilding practitioners including through the Rewilding Network, our grant funding provision and the facilitation of events and gatherings.

Your responsibilities will include: 

In collaboration with our Rewilding Officer and Rewilding Manager, you will support the growth of the rewilding movement, including the Network. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the Rewilding Network, including managing emails and queries 

• Supporting engagement with practitioners through the Rewilding Network community forum, network events, etc. 

• Organising webinars and online events, including assisting with calendars and managing attendees

• Supporting engagement with wider practitioners outside of the Rewilding Network

• Assisting with grants management, including our Innovation Fund and Challenge Fund

• Maintaining and assisting the development of our monitoring and relationship management systems 

• Helping to compile stories and shared learning from rewilding projects across Britain and Europe

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

This role will be full time (35 hours/5 days), but we welcome applications from those looking to work 28 hours or more per week. The salary is £23-27,000 F.T.E.

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

Background

Pesticide Action Network UK (PAN UK) is the only charity in the UK focused solely on tackling the problems caused by pesticides and promoting safe and sustainable alternatives in agriculture, urban areas, homes and gardens. It is an independent, non-profit organisation, which works nationally and internationally to eliminate the use of hazardous pesticides, to reduce dependence on pesticides and to increase the adoption of sustainable alternatives to chemical pest control.

For almost four decades, PAN UK has worked with groups and individuals concerned with health, environment and development, to promote healthy food and a sustainable agricultural system which will provide food and meet public health needs without dependence on toxic chemicals and without harming food producers, agricultural workers, or the environment. Our work includes campaigning for change in policy and practices at home and overseas; co-ordinating projects in the global south which help smallholder farming communities escape ill-health and poverty caused by pesticides; and contributing our wealth of scientific and technical expertise to the work of other organisations who share our aims.

PAN UK operates as part of PAN International - a global network with partner organisations based in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Pacific and Latin America. The Secretariat is composed of two international co-coordinators one based in Ethiopia and one in the UK who is hosted by PAN UK.  In addition to the network partners, PAN UK works closely with a wide range of like-minded organisations based in the UK and Internationally. 

PAN UK’s Senior Management Team comprises of the Director, Head of Finance and Governance, Head of International Programmes and Head of Policy and Campaigns. The organisation currently has fourteen staff organised into three teams – namely the international, UK and central support teams.

Responsibilities

Leadership and strategy

• Act as a figurehead and spokesperson for the organisation with key stakeholders including donors, allies, journalists and decision-makers.
• Lead on organisational strategy development and implementation.  Oversee completion and implementation of the new 5-year strategic plan.
• Lead, support and inspire a dedicated team to deliver the organisation’s mission and objectives.

Organisational management and development

• Lead the organisation’s work on Diversity Equity Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ).
• Maintain an overview of all the organisation’s work, ensuring that projects and are delivered on time and budget.
• Work with Programme Heads and Project Teams to monitor and evaluate all programmes and projects ensuring they meet performance indicators and align with the organisational strategy.
• Work with the Head of Finance and Governance to ensure that all of PAN UK’s policies are fit-for-purpose, align with the organisation’s values, reflect best practice for a charity, and are appropriate for the guidance of the organisation.
• Work closely with the Board of Trustees and ensure that Trustees are kept informed of key developments and risks in a timely manner. Hold quarterly Trustee meetings, organise reports on project development, provide minutes of meetings.

Externally facing work

• Represent PAN UK at the highest level on a range of relevant strategic bodies and fora.
• Act as a media spokesperson for the organisation.
• Work with the Communications Manager to raise PAN UK’s public profile and cultivate and develop widespread attention to PAN UK projects, research and reports.
• Ensure that all outputs are of high quality and do not pose any kind of reputational or legal risk to the organisation. 

Fundraising and financial management

• Work with the Head of Finance and Governance to monitor the organisation’s current and forecast financial position and to determine actions to take to ensure ongoing financial sustainability.
• Lead on fundraising efforts aimed at securing unrestricted and/or core funds including building and maintaining relationships with key donors.
• Work with the Head of Finance and Governance to maintain an overview of the financial and funding needs of projects and the resourcing of the overall organisation. and support the Heads of the UK and International teams to fundraise for project-specific and/or restricted funds.
• Identify new fundraising streams and implement these approaches in order to secure PAN UK’s long-term future.
• Continue to grow PAN UK’s individual giving programme (implemented by the Communications team).
• Continue PAN UK’s ethical approach to fundraising which precludes taking funds from organisations, companies or individuals that contribute to the undermining of the achievement of PAN UK’s mission, or do not align with our values.

Human resources

• Line-manage the individual members of the Senior Management Team and run the team as a whole ensuring it meets regularly.
• Provide leadership and support to the whole staff team.
• Continue to make PAN UK an excellent place to work and maintain the organisation’s strong record on both staff recruitment and retention, including oversight of personnel matters.

Person specification

Essential experience

• At least eight years’ experience in a UK NGO, and five years in a senior management position.
• Experience of managing, leading and motivating staff.
• Experience of developing, implementing and reviewing strategies designed to create change. 
• Demonstrable experience of successfully raising funds and building relationships with a range of funders (trusts and foundations, and other institutional donors).
• An understanding of charity finance rules and organisation-wide financial management.

Hay Time Project Manager | Full-time 35 hours per week (part time at four days per week will be considered) | £34,555 - £37,880 
Based at our offices in Clapham, near Settle, with a mix of office and home working. 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead on delivering our new grassland strategy, focused on offering guidance, advice and support to landowners and communities.

You’ll play a critical role in restoring and enhancing wildflower meadows across the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland, as well as helping people to discover, celebrate and enjoy meadows through training, volunteering and events.

The Hay Time Manager will play a key part in liaising with land managers, partner organisations, volunteers and community groups to develop and deliver annual programmes of restoration and enhancement schemes. You will lead a small team to deliver a calendar of training and events for a range of audiences, as well as ensuring monitoring and evaluation is in place so we are delivering the best impact for the area.

As part of our new strategy, we are developing a small-scale seed collection and growing project, with a focus on growing rarer species to support the delivery of a range of enhancement schemes.
