The Interim Project Support Officer role is multifaceted, involving assistance with a variety of projects, including chatbot and e-learning development and maintenance. This will include overseeing the storage and availability of project schedules, workflows and other team documentation to ensure the smooth running of team products, programmes and activities. The role also includes administrative tasks such as data recording, diary and email management, research duties and providing broader project support as needed. It will also involve cross-department working.

The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills and experience using databases. They will also have exceptional organisational skills and a familiarity with digital information delivery channels. They should have a good understanding of basic project management and effective information and documentation management. It is essential that the candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to draft routine correspondence, take accurate meeting minutes, and present clear, concise reports. The role requires strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive working relationships, good presentation and facilitation abilities, and an understanding of co-production and safeguarding.

The British Geriatrics Society is the professional association for NHS doctors, nurses and other healthcare specialists engaged in the treatment and care of older people across the UK, united by a mission to improve healthcare for older people. The BGS is seeking to recruit a Conferences Co-Ordinator to assist with the planning, delivery and promotion of its portfolio of virtual, hybrid and in-person events. If you are interested in establishing your career in events management, this role provides exposure to a range of administrative tasks supporting a varied and interesting programme of events. You will have the opportunity to travel and work with leading and inspiring health professionals around the UK.

The BGS Events team consists of four full-time staff members. We deliver a varied events programme, including two large scale national three-day meetings in the spring and autumn.

Salary:£31,752 (grade 6.1), rising by annual increments

Overall purpose: 

To support the BGS education offer by

·Providing administrative support to the BGS Events team in the preparation and delivery of high-quality programmes and meetings

·Delivering good customer care (pre and post meeting), whilst also providing an excellent delegate experience at conferences

·Supporting the wider BGS team with events-related aspects of marketing, scientific abstracts, sponsorship and website content

Through these events, we support a UK and international audience of healthcare professionals to access high-quality information and education about healthcare for older people. Continuing professional development (CPD) is an important part of the BGS member offer, and we pride ourselves on delivering relevant, high-quality, engaging events.

The next few years of conference delivery will be an exciting time, evolving our mix of hybrid (in-person and online) and virtual conferences, and reintroducing our region meetings across England. Supporting the development of regional meetings will be an important part of the role. We are also expanding our digital offer to support online community networking and sharing knowledge beyond the conferences. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

1.Responding confidently to incoming enquiries by telephone and email. Managing ad hoc delegate queries about registration, continuing professional development (CPD) and event information promptly.

2.Processing conference registrations; taking payments; providing confirmation and supporting correspondence to delegates, sponsors and speakers.

3.Processing and maintaining records related to registrations, using our member database (CiviCRM).

4.Co-ordinating and administering abstract submissions, supporting the local officers in their adjudication and publication of results.

5.Processing and managing CPD applications (live and distance learning) for all conferences via the Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

6.Administering and processing both speaker expenses and invoices arising from conferences. Regularly updating budget information and liaising with the BGS Finance team as required.

7.Supporting the Conference and Region Development Manager to source venues and suppliers, whilst negotiating best rates and liaising with them as required.

8.Providing logistics support for conference speakers, staff and contributors. Co-ordination will include booking travel and hotels, external social events and conference dinners.

9.Assisting the Conferences and Region Support Manager to provide efficient and effective onsite support at conferences.

10. Arranging courier collections of event equipment (to and from each venue and BGS office), with oversight of items throughout. This will also apply for external career fairs.

11. Preparing, packing / unpacking event equipment for each event both onsite and at BGS office.

12. Preparing printed materials for each event (badges, programmes, biographies, signage and any other information as required).

13. Managing event stock and maintaining the stockroom.

14.Website content editing and updating (BGS events and region pages).

15. Supporting the Communications and Marketing Co-Ordinator in promoting BGS conference activities, along with regular meetings.

16. Analysing feedback from event attendees and compiling results for speakers.

17. Supporting the Conferences and Region Development Manager with administrative tasks associated with the development of BGS England regions. This will include engagement tasks such as attending region committee internal meetings, regular web updates, supporting hybrid meetings and producing quarterly e-bulletins.

18. Supporting the Director of Learning and Professional Development in preparation, approaches and follow-up with pharmaceutical sponsors.

19. Undertaking other administrative tasks as may arise.

20. Contributing to the development of BGS conferences and to the Society overall.

Person Specification

Essential skills/experience required:

·Strong organisational skills – ability to manage your time effectively and deal with competing priorities/deadlines

ROLE SUMMARY:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and analytical Individual Giving Officer to develop your fundraising career in the international development sector. You will work closely with our Head of Fundraising to build, expand and retain our donor base following a very successful 2024. #1: Individual Giving (30% of Time):

• With support from the Head of Fundraising, create and manage cross-channel Individual Giving campaigns.
• Manage a stewardship plan for Individual Giving supporters, acting as the point of contact for donors and focusing on retention.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising on acquisition activities across the donor spectrum, onboarding new supporters.

#2: Major and Mid Value Donor Pipeline (20% of Time):

• Qualify Mid Value supporters and Major Donors through a managed donor pipeline, identifying high-potential prospects and nurturing relationships.
• Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising to develop targeted engagement plans for Mid Value and Major Donors across the year.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Fundraising professional to join our Individual Giving Team, focussing on our mid value programme and assisting with the production and development of campaigns aimed specifically for this audience. This role will be a fixed term contract for 13 months covering maternity leave.

Direct Marketing plays an important role in the organisation’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy, and we have seen a fantastic growth in our mid-value programme to date. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and development of this new audience and further shape the programme.

As a Direct Marketing Executive, you’ll use a range of channel content to reach and meet the needs of your audience and tailor your approach based on audience insight.

You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to warm mid value audience, to engage them wider with the work of Prostate Cancer UK with the overall aim to increase their life-time value.

With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage direct marketing campaigns in the form of seasonal appeals, email updates, and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently review KPIs and make evidence-based choices to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.

Excellent knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment is vital, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and/or experience of stewarding donors by understanding the importance of meeting their needs.

You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Comradeship and sense of community are among the key elements of the health and wellbeing package enjoyed by residents of the Royal Hospital Chelsea – the Chelsea Pensioners.  Our Veteran’s Outreach programme launched in late 2022 with the aim of extending this offer to the wider veterans’ community in the Greater London region and we have successfully built our own network of older veterans from all three services who, as ‘Out Pensioners’, regularly attend events, activities and Drop Ins at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. We seek to expand our programme beyond Greater London and will start by focusing on the 8 counties of the Southeast region as a pilot scheme which, in due course, we intend to duplicate in other regions.

The Regional Veterans Outreach Officer is vital to bring our expansion plans to fruition. They will be expected to help plan, develop and deliver the regional programme with the aim of reducing social isolation and loneliness in older veterans by leveraging the unique experience of our Chelsea Pensioners and our delivery partners.

In support of the Head of Veterans Outreach they will be required to assist in the planning and delivery of activities and events designed to attract an older cohort of veterans.  This will include establishing and maintaining relationships with local delivery partners (DPs), helping in the recruitment and oversight of a network of volunteers in the 8 x counties and with these DPs and volunteers identify and locate veterans who might benefit from our programme.

The ideal candidate will be selfless, service orientated, full of enthusiasm and initiative, and equipped with the people skills that will make you a natural networker and a hit with our older veteran community. Experience of the Armed Forces community and/or working with older people will be highly advantageous and you will be expected to be familiar with the region in which you will be working. Experience of managing volunteers is also desirable. You will thrive on a high degree of autonomy and making a positive impact on the veterans we support.

The post holder will be expected to travel extensively around the South East region, including overnight stays. A clean, full driving licence is essential. The successful candidate will require Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance.

We're seeking three skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Young Person’s Worker. In these role, you will play a vital role in providing support to at-risk young people who are experiencing homelessness. We have roles available in our services in Islington and Waltham Forest. 

Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside the confines of traditional services. As the Young Person's Worker, you will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. You will be the lead worker overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.

Support for Children: Independent Child Trafficking Guardians support children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, working alongside other professionals to ensure that children receive appropriate support in line with their needs. 

 Within this role some of your responsibilities will be: 

• Supporting professionals, including Social Workers, Police, Youth Justice Teams, Foster Carers and Residential Support Workers, to identify children exploited through modern slavery and refer them into the Service 
• Provide advice, guidance and information about child trafficking and initial safety planning to professionals through 1:1 case consultations or attendance at multi-agency meetings 
• Develop initial needs assessments and action plans 
• Support practitioners from partner agencies to meet the needs of children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

It is an exciting and important time to be joining us at Crisis. We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland, and Wales so they can leave homelessness behind for good. We have recently adapted the way our services work to maximise our impact in ending homelessness.

Title: Senior Practitioner Psychologist (internally this role is known as Senior Skylight Psychologist) 

Qualifications: You must be a Practitioner Psychologist qualified for at least 18 months and registered with the HCPC

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are excited to offer this new role which is an opportunity to support our two London Crisis at Christmas teams. There is the Crisis at Christmas team who lead on the set up and delivery of our hotel and day centre delivery in the capital. The postholder will be working alongside the Crisis at Christmas team and Christmas Case Management Team to develop this post. You will form part of the local Leadership team, supporting the implementation of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs).  You will support the delivery of our work to members by offering training and leading reflective practice for staff and providing direct services to members at times.  You will be working alongside the Christmas team to plan how we ensure our service offer is psychologically and trauma informed as well as developing and delivering training for volunteers and staff and supporting the delivery of our services.  You will be joining a part-time Psychologist working into the Christmas Case Management team, as well as several Psychologists who are also based in the London Skylight. 

You will also be a part of a national psychology team made up of a Lead Clinical Psychologist, two Regional Lead Clinical Psychologists, and seven Practitioner Psychologists as well as one Assistant Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placements. 

We are committed to ending the homelessness of more people using our direct services, including people with complex needs. To do this, we are seeking either full-time or part-time Practitioner Psychologists to work with us to develop a new and innovative role supporting our Christmas teams.

About Us

About the Role
As a Programme Officer at Unfold, you’ll ensure that our volunteer mentors feel supported and prepared for their work with young people. Alongside helping to recruit and onboard new mentors, including organising their training and reviewing their progress, you’ll be Volunteer Mentors main point of contact, making sure they have a rewarding and impactful experience. Your work will also include engaging with referrers, parents, and young people themselves, providing guidance and answering questions to ensure everyone feels connected to our mission.

You’ll also be hands-on with our youth programs, coordinating weekly Youth Support Groups and engaging with young people in outreach activities. You’ll work closely with our Programme Manager to build relationships with community organisations and support our Youth Advisory Council.
