About Media Trust
At Media Trust, we believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that we’ll get to a more equal society. That’s why we work with charities to strengthen their storytelling, advocacy and campaigning, press engagement and social media. We do this through media, communications and digital skills training delivered with our media and creative industry partners and by matching charities looking for content creation and other media-related support with media industry volunteers looking to give back. At the same time, our programmes for underrepresented talent are giving young and diverse talent the creative media skills, access and mentoring to break into the media.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies and new initiatives to drive growth and innovation in the range of charity programmes we currently provide, drawing on sectoral insights and taking a user-led approach as much as possible.
- Programme Oversight & Line Management: Manage the delivery to a very high standard of all our charity capacity-building and training programmes, including being a highly effective line manager for our team of dedicated programme managers.
- Grant Writing and Income Generation: Develop proposals to secure new and repeat funding support for Media Trust's charity programmes and lead the development team in meeting income targets through paid for training for clients including charities and funders.
- Partnership Development: Forge effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders including other charities, infrastructure bodies like NCVO and ACEVO as well as delivery partners including Equally Ours and Climate Outreach, government bodies, and trusts and foundations.
- Representation: Represent Media Trust at charity sector conferences and other events and on social media, to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
What we are looking for in you
- Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record of senior leadership in the charity sector, ideally at an infrastructure or membership organisation, including line management experience and responsibility for managing programme delivery and budgets.
- Training & Capacity Building Programme Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in designing, delivering and measuring the impact of training and other capacity-building programmes for charities and under-represented communities.
- Business Development: Demonstrated expertise in designing and pitching for paid for training and other services.
- Grant Writing Experience: Strong grant writing skills with a successful history of securing funding from diverse sources including government grants, trusts and foundations, and corporates.
- Charity Sector Knowledge: A strong understanding of the communications challenges charities are facing and what interventions are working/not working.
- Knowledge of Media & Comms Trends and Applicability to Charities: Knowledge of the latest media and communications trends and how we can work with our industry partners to ensure charities are using emerging platforms, applications, etc.
- Confidence in Public Speaking & Using Social Media: Experience of speaking at conferences and other public events and facilitating training for large groups. You will also be confident about using your social media profile to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Very strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, with the ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders.

About the role
Our Operations team are the people behind the scenes that enable Nordoff and Robbins to function day-to-day. We cover all the essentials such as facilities, health and safety, finance, and IT/systems support.
As an Operations and IT Manager you will play an important role in keeping our music therapy facilities, IT and health and safety functioning charity wide. We’re looking for someone who has excellent task-management skills, is responsive, has strong technical skills and has a can-do attitude. You’ll report into the Director of Finance and Operations and people lead the Facilities Co-ordinator, and together you will oversee the smooth operations of the London Centre.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be musical, but you do need to be able to spin numerous plates on a day-to-day basis, working with colleagues, clients and contractors right across our London Centre to keep things running ship-shape.

Who are Women’s Aid?
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Purpose of the Public Affairs Officer role:
As the Public Affairs Officer in the External Affairs team at Women’s Aid, you will play a pivotal role in our government and parliamentary engagement work. This will include leading on monitoring parliamentary activity and identifying opportunities for Women’s Aid to influence the political agenda and ensure parliamentarians are kept up to date on issues related to domestic abuse. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our influencing work with the new government on key pieces of legislation, Women’s Aid’s next big campaign and assisting Women’s Aid’s secretariat role to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Domestic Violence and Abuse. Alongside organising meetings and events for the APPG and with key political stakeholders, you will lead on the development of public affairs and campaigns materials, including policy bulletins, briefings, speaking notes and letters to government ministers.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Public Affairs Officer:
- Carry out regular political monitoring, keeping the team updated with important developments for Women’s Aid, identifying opportunities for influence and providing analysis on policy announcements.
- Draft newsletters, correspondence, and website and social media content for parliamentarians, Women’s Aid’s member services and campaigners on a range of campaign and policy priorities.
- Support Women’s Aid’s work on key pieces of legislation - responding to queries, drafting briefings and parliamentary questions, working with Parliamentarians on draft amendments, and the development of joint sector work.
- Lead on projects that widen participation in Women’s Aid public affairs and campaigning work, including organising meetings with sector colleagues, survivors, and our member services.
What we are looking for in our Public Affairs Officer:
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write copy for a range of audiences and formats, e.g., briefings, consultation submissions, correspondence and speaking notes.
- Experience of working in a political role or exposure within parliamentary institutions.
- Experience in liaising and working with external organisations and individuals, including via correspondence and joint working groups/joint sector meetings.
- Experience in supporting the delivery of projects and campaigns.
- Ability to communicate sensitively about the issues facing women and children affected by domestic abuse.

The Vacancy
We are offering a unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support team and the wider Methodist Church in delivering its strategic plan to make the best use of its buildings for mission in local communities across the country.
Working alongside the Director and colleagues within the team, you will be helping to provide the essential support and guidance the team offers to Trustees, Ministers, Connexional colleagues and the wider church.
Your role will be varied, including supporting colleagues in their specific areas of work and expertise - from listed buildings to net zero initiatives. You will also lead on engagement with Trustees and alike who are seeking advice and guidance in relation to a variety of property resource needs. This could be through the provision of proactive support of and input into, relevant forms of guidance, communications and funding, community engagement, training and good practice.
Alongside this, you will lead on the communications and resourcing to the District Property Officer network and other relevant networks, across the Connexion.
You will also support the Director in the administration of property related grants.
About You
We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative. You will have experience supporting a senior team, and preferably have property or project management experience, although this is not essential.
As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s work with external colleagues, particularly the District Property Officer network, it is essential that you are comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational skills, particularly in terms of resourcing and training.
The role will be very collaborative with team colleagues, and therefore experience and ability to plan, research and assimilate new information alongside the analysis and delivery of projects will be an essential quality.

Media and Comms Manager

Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is seeking a Comms Manager who is passionate about improving life for the LGBT+ community in the UK.
Founded in 1982, Galop has been championing the needs and safety of the LGBT+ community for 40 years. Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.
We run a National Abuse & Violence Helpline, which brings together our four national support helplines for LGBT+ victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; rape and sexual abuse; and so-called “conversion therapy”. We provide longer-term support to thousands of LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse through our advocacy and therapeutic services. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change, to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research around LGBT+ people’s experiences of abuse and violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT+ people around the country.
About the Comms Manager
The Comms Manager is a strategic, hands-on and varied role that reports into our Head of Fundraising and Comms. You will play a pivotal part in helping Galop to reach our community, increase engagement amongst our supporters and amplify the voices of LGBT+ abuse and violence victims.
You will be our first point of contact with the press and media, and lead on drafting statements, providing quotes, arranging media and briefing the CEO for any external appearances.
You will have responsibility and oversight of our social media channels and website content, working closely with key stakeholders across our fundraising, frontline and senior management teams to meet the needs of the charity and create content which resonates with our audience.
You will work with and support the CEO and Head of Fundraising and Comms to drive internal comms as Galop grows. You will also be responsible for co-creating, planning and delivering an annual communications plan for the organisation with the senior leadership team, ensuring an effective and consistent voice in both our proactive and reactive comms work.
The need for Galop’s work has grown in recent years, and this is an exciting time to join our ambitious team and help shape our charity’s future. Due to the nature of the role, in cases of emergencies or urgent external situations, weekend or evening work may occasionally be required.

Reprieve is a UK charity founded in 1999. Reprieve uses strategic interventions to end the use of the death penalty globally, and to end extreme human rights abuses carried out in the name of “counterterrorism” or “national security”.

About the Role
The Head of Unlawful Detentions is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s work on unlawful detentions, which comprises detention cases in North East Syria (NES), advocacy work with families of detainees in NES, support to those repatriated from NES, and our Guantánamo and Life after Guantánamo Projects.
Background on Unlawful Detentions Work
Reprieve was one of the very first organisations allowed inside Guantánamo. Since then, we have secured freedom for more than 80 men illegally detained without charge or trial, and we continue to support some of these men through our Life After Guantánamo project.
Reprieve also advocates for the release and repatriation of foreign nationals detained in camps and prisons in NES. We aim to ensure that detained individuals are treated in line with international law, and not subjected to the death penalty, extrajudicial execution, arbitrary detention, torture, or rendition. We also advocate for and support clients and their children after their release from arbitrary detention.
Through our work we aim to challenge and change flawed ‘War on Terror’ narratives and legal and political frameworks – including in the UK, Europe and the US – that engender state-sanctioned discrimination and abuse, undermine the rule of law and human rights, and create two-tiered layers of citizenship rights for ethnic minorities in Western countries.
About You
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies using a dynamic approach in which each of Reprieve’s methodologies—casework, investigation, litigation, political and public engagement, support for and (where possible and appropriate) advocacy with affected communities—connect with one another to achieve positive outcomes in individual client’s cases and address structural rights violations.

Salary, contract and location
The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance. Reprieve works across a number of jurisdictions; as such this is a role that may require work outside of core hours from time to time.
