Age UK is recruiting for a Partner Communications Manager to develop and oversee communication channels and plans which are aligned to our strategic objectives and which ensure our network colleagues feel supported, informed, included.

Working closely with Age UK's Chief Network Officer, Director of Network Support and Engagement, and Head of Internal Communications, you will be part of a team leading on a communications strategy which helps to make the Age UK network a great network to be a part of.

You'll collaborate with colleagues across Age UK and the Age UK network to develop inspiring content so we can best support people the Age UK network and help them in their work to improve the lives of older people.

We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include regular days working from our London office. Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the post-holder and are not covered by the charity.

About The Role

The Social Mobility and Widening Participation Senior Officer is a vital member of the department. The post-holder will lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of sustained outreach initiatives. They will also be involved in a range of other challenging projects run across the Social Mobility and Widening Participation Department.

This role will co-lead on the delivery of K+, supporting participants on our arts, humanities and social science pathways. K+ is King’s flagship widening participation programme for sixth form and college students. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive range of events for Year 12 participants as part of non-residential Spring and Summer Schools. This will involve working collaboratively with schools and teachers within Greater London and King’s target regions, King’s faculties and with corporate and charity partners.

The post holder will work closely with the wider Post-16 Programmes team, student ambassadors and key partner staff. This role is responsible to the Social Mobility and Widening Participation Manager.

The Senior Community Engagement Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering a two-year programme of activities and events at Crystal Palace Park as part of our National Lottery Heritage Funded activity plan to engage and involve existing and new audiences of the park, ensuring we are building relationships and listening to our communities.

‘I AM Brent’ consortium

Step Up Hub leads a consortium, known as I AM Brent, that consists of six well-respected local charities who are working together to address the root causes and effects of violence affecting young people in the London Borough of Brent.

Programme Description

The programme is part of the Mayor of London’s flagship violence reduction programme, known as MyEnds. It is a place-based violence reduction initiative that adopts a public health approach. The consortium is providing an array of positive opportunities for young people and support for families, including through tailored interventions. The programme also aims to improve statutory and voluntary organisation networks and access to referral, and to ensure the voices of young people and community members are built into provision. The work is focused on the Church Road Estate, Stonebridge Estate, St Raphael’s Estate, Chalkhill Estate and Harlesden Town Centre areas.

The Role of the Community Engagement Lead

The Community Engagement Lead will be a key member of the team delivering the I AM Brent MyEnds programme. They will develop and maintain strong relationships with the breadth of young and older community members, and local businesses to conduct community engagement. They will subscribe to the values of co-production and work positively in accordance with I AM Brent’s Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, Data Protection and Health and Safety policies.

In addition, the Community Engagement Lead will:

· act as the primary contact for requests from the community for information about I AM Brent’s services and events,

· disseminate to the community information about I AM Brent’s services, community fund, and events,

· organise, and support the delivery of, community engagement events, youth forums and community forums,

· encourage community participation,

· provide status reports regarding upcoming community outreach, engagement, events, and initiatives to consortium                members and community members, and provide end of community activity reports to the Programme Manager,

Key Responsibilities

To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.

Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning

With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:

1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.

2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.

3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.

4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.

5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.

6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.

Dissemination and Communications

1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.

2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.

3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.

4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.

5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.

6. Supporting the professional publication and printing of CBM UK outputs, for dissemination at advocacy engagements and public events.

Other

1. Work with other CBM UK teams to maximise cross fertilisation opportunities and integrated working.

2. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM. Play an active role across CBM, promoting positive working and innovation. Ensure that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.

3. Identify opportunities to initiate and contribute to new initiatives and events, both within CBM UK and externally.

We are hiring a Grassroots Development Officer at BVSC on a 2 year contract. Responsible to the Funding and Development Manager, the role of Grassroots Development Officer will be to support the growth and sustainability of small voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bexley. This role is funded by the VCSE Capacity Building & Infrastructure Fund 2024/2025 through the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) and aims to enhance the effectiveness of smaller, often informal groups delivering services that are both ‘by and for’ their service users that are crucial in addressing local health and wellbeing needs for the ‘under-served’ but face significant challenges in visibility and support.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups). 
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. Development work strives to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services. You will work flexibly and nimbly to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations. Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns to promote professional development products and services, including training courses, events, qualifications, apprenticeships, and webinars, to both members and non-members.
• Create and disseminate engaging marketing content across various platforms, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and organisational objectives.
• Manage and optimise promotional channels such as the website (SEO and user journey), email marketing, organic and paid social media (LinkedIn, Facebook), paid search (Google Ads), partnerships, and print/online advertising.

• Proficient in digital tools and platforms, including email marketing systems, website content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) databases, and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or similar.
• Confident in face-to-face interactions with stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and composure at conferences, exhibitions, and other events while representing the organisation effectively.

Community Education Officer - Liverpool (2 days or 4 days per week)

Reporting to: Senior Project Manager

Salary: £24,375 per annum, pro rata (£9,750 per annum for 2 days per week, or, £19,500 per annum for 4 days per week)

Hours: 2 or 4 days (15 or 30 hours) per week, with flexibility of working hours (core hours 10.00-16.00)

Location: This role is based in Merseyside and is currently homeworking with travel within the region, and weekly in-person team meetings. We recommend that this role visits the London office a minimum of once a quarter.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Community Education Officer plays an important role in both collaborating with communities to take part in shared learning and disseminating findings to wider audiences throughout the project, informing how it develops and boosting its impact. You will work in partnership with individuals and their communities, under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager as part of the education and advocacy programme. This will include cooperative identification of changes to the food system in Knowsley in the last century, engaging project participants in discussing those changes and raising awareness to wider audiences, supporting the project to achieve its aim of creating a shared understanding and celebrating Knowsley’s heritage and influencing strategies to shape the future of the borough, through sustained, quality engagement. You will support the Community Research Coordinator to capture qualitative and quantitative data that will inform reporting and contribute project monitoring and evaluation, participant outcomes and signposting groups & individuals to project activities with the aim of improving community participation & influence in our work.

The post holder will need to be proactive, working both independently and as part of a team, whilst managing and prioritising a busy workload.

Aim 8: FAIR ACCESS TO GOOD FOOD  

By the end of 2025, low-income communities in the UK will have secure, dignified access to nutritious food with low environmental impact, challenging the supermarket redistribution and food bank model

By the end of 2025, regional, participatory, celebratory food economies anchored in place and community will grow, challenging the corporate food model.

Key Responsibilities 

• Primary responsibility for leading the collaborative learning process with community stakeholders in Knowsley (e.g., community groups, local schools).
• Work with individuals, groups and communities to explore the food and farming heritage of Knowsley, creating a shared understanding of what came before Knowsley’s establishment as a Metropolitan Borough.
• Contribution towards the planning and execution of events and workshops in Knowsley in collaboration with the team at Feedback and key community stakeholders.
• Primary responsibility for creating educational resources from information obtained through delivery of Feedback Global’s Heritage Lottery Fund Project, to be utilised throughout this project and in future.
• Working alongside the project delivery team you will work to capture stories and knowledge about residents’ experiences of growing, producing and consuming local or seasonal food.
• Celebrate Knowsley and its heritage through the creation of projects and workshops in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Create educational resources from information obtained considering the present and future possibilities.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Events Officer to join our Income Generation Team.

Are you an experienced, event fundraiser who enjoys building long lasting relationships with charity supporters and wanting to make a difference?

If so then we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the fundraising team as our Events Officer.

Working to support the Birmingham Hospice brand, this varied role will lead on the delivery of a diverse portfolio of events and challenges including fun runs, adrenaline seeking challenges and in memory events. The successful candidate will have a friendly and engaging personality and enjoy speaking to charity supporters face to face, over the phone and via email.

Reporting directly to the Senior Events Manager this role will work to grow the income generation and profile of the charity through effective administration, supporter engagement and marketing of the events calendar, ensuring maximum participation and income is achieved. This role will allow you to use your creativity to proactively seek new income generation opportunities through event management. You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a portfolio of events with proven success of reaching and exceeding participant and income targets. You should also have knowledge and experience of working with a range of external suppliers and volunteers and have a proven ability to build relationships at all levels. Experience of using CRMs systems is also advantageous.

This role combines community engagement with active participation opportunities for local people. Being a trusted and influential presence locally this role will seek to create spaces that enable people from a diverse range of backgrounds to share their experiences. The role requires bringing together other community organisations and facilitating opportunities that get people talking and involved in activities they may not have tried before. These roles play a pivotal role in contributing insight to the wider place expansion work programme being coordinated by Together Active.
