The opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated candidate to join our Operations team, under our growing Finance team at Standing Together. If you are someone who shares our passion to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable groups then we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for a new Senior Finance Officer, who will support STADA’s Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, to bolster and develop our Finance function across the organisation; as the charity heads to meet the demands of its growth.
The Senior Finance Officer will work with the Head of Finance (and relevant internal and external stakeholders) to review existing systems, contracts and funding (income) arrangements; as well as explore and develop efficiency enhancing opportunities and contribute to building effective finance management processes and systems across STADA. They will support the delivery of several functions including: setting and monitoring of budgets, reporting of activity and funding across multiple funding streams, contribute to positive stakeholder engagement, oversee day to day financial activity and provide advice/guidance to inform development and delivery of our strategy and business plan.
There is potential for line management within this role as it evolves.
To fulfil this role, we are looking for someone who is passionate about ending domestic abuse. It is preferable if they have experience in providing line management support and supervision. They will have great organisational, analytical and adaptive communication skills. With a positive and inclusive style of working, they will be confident and able to work across a variety of teams (and other stakeholders) and be agile to work on and demonstrate a solution focussed approach. Specifically, the postholder will be responsible for the following:
Strategy, planning and reporting
- Produce annual fundraising plans and budgets for major donors, trust, corporate and regular givers to engage supporters and develop relationships;
- Work with the Head of Communications & Giving to develop and deliver long-term high value fundraising strategies;
- Manage budgets for fundraising activities and events;
- Report against monthly, quarterly and annual targets, identifying variances and strategies to address where needed;
- Lead on the set up of systems and processes to support effective and efficient fundraising and relationship management;
- Keep up to date with fundraising best practice, policy and relevant legislation and ensure these are reflected in Afghanaid’s approaches;
- Produce pipelines, reports and analysis of major donor, trust, corporate and regular giver fundraising.
Trust, Major Donor, Corporate and Regular Giver Fundraising
- Identify and secure new trust and corporate funding relationships through database analysis, desk research, networking, formal presentations, and producing concept notes or proposals;
- Retain and maximise relationships with existing trust and corporate portfolio through designing and delivering bespoke annual engagement strategies, including exclusive and personalised reports, briefings, calls and proposals;
- Promote cross-department collaboration on trust and corporate fundraising to maximise both unrestricted and restricted fundraising, leading meetings, identifying synergies, and integrating pipelines and prospecting mechanisms;
- Identify and secure new major donors and regular givers, conceptualising and running acquisition campaigns alongside the HC&G;
- Identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Afghanaid’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships;
- Manage and maximise relationships with existing major donors and high value regular givers through designing and delivering annual engagement strategies, including reports, calls and proposals;
- Collaborate with colleagues to produce content for engaging monthly email newsletters for high value portfolio;
- Design and manage an annual campaign to upgrade existing regular givers;
- Secure match funding from key trust, corporate and major donors to maximise the success of events and appeals;
- Mobilise Board of Trustees and Directors to support with stewardship of high value donor relationships;
- Organise the annual high value donor dinner, compiling the invitee list, managing RSVPs and organising other logistics;
- Coordinate and attend other events and external fora, representing Afghanaid, networking and pursuing opportunities;
- Manage external platforms related to high value giving including Benevity, Global Giving and Myriad US, updating where appropriate in alignment with campaigns and appeals and actively identifying ways to maximise their use and join new platforms where appropriate;
- Work with colleagues to identify and pursue opportunities for gifts-in-kind or alternative high-value partnerships.
Data and administration
- Ensure all phone calls, meetings, emails and other engagement with trusts, corporates, major donors and high value regular givers are logged on Salesforce, ensuring records are clean;
- Work with the Database and Insights Analyst to conceptualise and implement key CRM processes that promote efficiency, accuracy and maximise the use of automations;
- Work with the Database and Insights Analyst and other C&G colleagues to ensure all donations from these donation streams are recorded and reconciled accurately on the database;
- Ensure Gift Aid declarations are sought from all eligible donors and appropriately filed;
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure funding contract requirements are adhered to;
- Monitor the Supporter Care email address to ensure all donors are receiving the best possible experience;
- Undertake any other duties as and when required by the line manager and/or overview manager.

Job Purpose

Schools Coordinator
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Schools Coordinator (Impact Officer) to work as the primary link between partner schools and the CYUK programme.
This youth social action charity challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time social action. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they support pupils growing up in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.
There are two roles available – 5 days per week (OL16 4RX or WA14 1SR) and 3 days per week (M28 7JB).

The Role
We have a rewarding opportunity for a School Impact Officer to train, support and develop volunteers, monitor the programme through effective administration, data management and to build a deep partnership between the school and the charity.
The Impact Officer is based predominantly in a school and is the primary link between the partner schools and the programme and is the enabler of the programme delivery. You will support a team of volunteer mentors, who support school activities by coordinating, managing and evaluating the programme.
The Volunteer Mentors also complete a Leadership and Development programme and you will work with them on a professional development plan to chart their continuous professional development and ready them for employment.
The role is primarily a school-based post from Monday to Thursday and is office based on most Fridays. See locations above.

Your role in our mission…
As a National PR Officer you will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Marie Curie amongst key target audiences by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage, and you will work with the media to shape major fundraising and influencing campaigns and build our brand.
You will work closely with teams and departments within Marie Curie to provide excellent PR support to secure meaningful coverage that strengthens our national voice and influence thinking around end of life experience; helping to build financial sustainability and manage the reputational risk regarding negative media exposure in all matters concerning the charity.

About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sense's engagement team at this exciting time, as Head of National Events. You will be leading the National Events team to deliver against Sense’s ambitious strategy, inspiring and supporting the team. This Includes:
- Support of a £1Million plus London Marathon Event
- Support the Event Managers in delivering 2 new bespoke events
You will drive the creation of a national events strategy to ensure a balanced portfolio of challenge events and support innovation, and creative thinking to further drive income growth and lifetime value across the events portfolio at Sense, delivering impact for people with complex disabilities.

Leadership
- Lead, motivate and inspire the Events team, a team of 4 at present

First Give
First Give is a national charity that inspires young people to make a difference to the causes they care about. We do this through working in partnership with secondary schools, providing a fully resourced scheme of work that guides an entire year group of students to engage with local charities and causes and then carry out social action (fundraising, raising awareness, campaigning, volunteering etc.) in support of them.
At the end of each programme, a celebratory School Final is held at each school, where teams representing each class deliver presentations about their projects. The class considered to have engaged the best with the programme secures a First Give grant of £1,000 for their chosen charity. By the end of the programme, however, the whole year group will have given back meaningfully to their local community. We currently work in partnership with about 200 schools every year across England and Wales.

The Role
Our facilitators are key to the success of the programme, delivering three inspiring sessions in each school through the course of the programme. They are essentially the ‘face of First Give’, and we rely on them to bring the energy and enthusiasm that makes First Give events special for schools and students.
The purpose and role of the facilitator for each of these in school sessions is outlined below.
Role of facilitator
Assembly
The students’ introduction to the First Give programme, Facilitators ensure a positive start by delivering an engaging and informative assembly to the year group which motivates and inspires students who are about to start their First Give journey.
Presentation Skills Workshop
A two-hour presentation skills workshop which equips presenting students with the skills and confidence that they need to deliver a high standard of presentation at their First Give Final.
This workshop includes running a series of engaging activities to develop the students' presentation skills and confidence. The facilitator then works alongside the students, giving feedback and promoting discussion for how the students could create an even greater impact.
The group size can range from 30-60 students.
First Give Final
A 3 hour event broken into two halves, the Final involves rehearsal time and co-ordinating and hosting the First Give Final, which is a celebration of the social action undertaken by the whole year group.
It is at this event that the judges decide which class wins the £1,000 First Give grant for their chosen charity, and should be a true celebration of the students’ hard work across the year group.
Ensuring that this event is a success from the perspective of students, teachers, judges and all other guests. Finals are usually large-scale events with between 150 - 300 people in the audience, depending on the size of the school.
Pre & post event admin
For the delivery of each session to be complete, facilitators provide prompt and detailed feedback to the First Give central team after each event via the Salesforce CRM system. All facilitators will have a First Give Twitter account for posting about the events they facilitate too.

About the role:
The British Museum is seeking a Finance Assistant to work as part of the Payables function of the Finance Department in a world renowned setting and the most popular tourist attraction in the UK. Purpose of The role
Habitat GB is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Advocacy to lead our efforts in advocating for policy change within the UK government (in particular targeting the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) to prioritise housing in international development. This pivotal role will play a crucial part in supporting Habitat for Humanity's global advocacy agenda which aims to promote equitable access to adequate housing worldwide, focusing on informal settlements in the Global South. ActionAid UK is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Retention Manager to join our Public Fundraising team.
This role offers the chance to work on impactful campaigns and contribute to our mission of social justice and equality. As Retention Manager, you will collaborate with the Head of Supporter Retention to plan and execute retention strategies, focusing on maximising supporter value through trading activities and virtual giving. You’ll manage all aspects of direct marketing campaigns, ensuring they are on brand, on time, and within budget.
Within this role you'll have the opportunity to analyse supporter and behavioural data; spotting trends, reporting and analysing fundraising data will be really important in helping you understand our audiences and supporters. You will do this by working with a diverse stakeholders including Retention, Acquisition, members of supporting teams, AA-federation members, suppliers, and agencies.
Reporting to the Head of Supporter Retention, you will plan and deliver integrated appeals including virtual giving trading products, retention campaigns, and developing engaging supporter journeys (including nursery/first 12-months supporter life-cycle).
Leading by example, you’ll support team members’ development and work with Data, Analysis, and Insight teams to create high-quality supporter journeys. Additionally, you’ll provide support for budget processes and present innovative business proposals. You will deputize for the Head of Supporter Retention, engage with various departments to achieve organisational objectives, and promote a positive and innovative working environment. As a line manager, you’ll coach team members, conduct regular 1:1s, set objectives, and manage performance issues proactively.
We’re looking for someone with a strong affinity for ActionAid’s vision, proven experience in donor journeys and direct marketing, and excellent interpersonal skills. Desirable skills include experience in the not-for-profit sector, knowledge of digital channels, and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

ActionAid UK has a hybrid working policy for many of our roles. The requirement will vary from team to team and the responsibilities of individual roles. As a minimum, all colleagues are expected to attend the office 12 days per year, plus additional time for induction, training, and “Company Connection days.” Some roles may require in-office attendance on all days and if so, these will clearly be marked as in-office roles.
