About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity be in at the start of a new service funded by St Andrew Holborn, a local charity keen to support the provision of high quality advice services to meet the needs of people living within their area of benefit. The project is funded for three years which gives the opportunity to make connections with local partners and make a real impact on the advice needs of local people.
Our service will meet the needs of local people by offering a flexible model providing advice face-to-face in community locations and remotely by telephone. Advice areas will range between welfare benefits, housing, employment, consumer and more.
This role is hybrid working with the exact split between remote/onsite working being by agreement with the line manager to meet the needs of the project which could change over time. This role is not suitable for remote working only.
We offer this as either a Trainee Adviser or Generalist Adviser role depending on your current advice work experience. If you are not currently an experienced generalist adviser, you will already have experience of delivering Adviceline or similar services and be looking for an opportunity to train as a Generalist Adviser. You will follow an accelerated training programme to develop the adviser skills and experience needed to complete the Citizens Advice adviser training programme within the agreed timeframe and provide high quality, holistic generalist advice. You will be supported to provide the high quality advice needed to meet auditing and funder requirements whilst delivering to funder targets. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the role as set out in the person specification.
Full support will be provided to the successful candidate at either level to succeed in the role.

The Festival Engagement Manager manages the development and delivery of content for the British Science Festival, Europe’s longest running science festival. They create unique events and cultural experiences which are relevant to our target audience of younger adults who are underrepresented in science. The Manager also supports on the delivery of projects for the UK Science Festivals Network (UKSFN), including managing the ‘Making Connections’ project which aims to engage young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds with science and research.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the UK Science Festivals sector and experience of developing content for festivals or large-scale events. You will have experience of working with scientists and researchers to co-develop content for events and of developing content for audiences who are underrepresented in science or who see science as not for them. You will have excellent project management and planning skills.
Travel to the Festival location will be required for this post, including one week on-site during the Festival (September).

About the Role
As a Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Worker, you will work with women residing in refuges across 7 Pan London boroughs. Your responsibilities will include devising support plans that address their immediate practical and emotional needs and initiating the recovery process. You will connect women with more specialist support services as required. The role involves conducting risk assessments, creating safety plans, and identifying support needs such as accessing benefits, budgeting, and exploring resettlement pathways from the refuge. You will also promote social inclusion, encourage independence, and foster the development of personal resilience. Building a support network for women and promoting engagement with other services is a key aspect of this role.
About You
We are looking for someone with relevant experience in providing specialist support services to women and families with multiple needs. You should have casework experience in offering proactive and emotional support to women who have experienced domestic abuse, aiding them in their recovery and rebuilding their lives. Experience in multi-agency working and maintaining a professional manner is also essential.

The role
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Income Generation to join our senior leadership team. This new and pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust income generation strategies to diversify and grow our funding and trading streams.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising or sales, building strategic partnerships, and driving innovation in income generation. Key responsibilities
Income Generation Strategy:

Fundraising:

Oversee all fundraising activities, including trusts and foundations and individual giving;

We're recruiting a Employee Relations Specialist for a 12 month fixed term contract to join our team.
As a Employee Relations Specialist, you’ll be the escalation point from our People Operations team and will apply your specialist employee relations knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, policies and processes.
You’ll pro-actively engage with managers to offer best practice advice on a range of ER case work, spotting and assessing the risks and advising managers on how to mitigate or find resolutions to those risks which are in the best interest for British Heart Foundation (BHF).
You’ll take ownership of your own case work from beginning to end and responsibility for the advisory solutions ensuring best practice timescales are adhered to. You will also ensure any risks or concerns are flagged.
Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office. Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

About you
With a CIPD Level 5 minimum qualification, or equivalent, you'll have extensive HR knowledge and understanding around best practice. You'll also have an up-to-date ER and Employment law knowledge, and understand ACAS code of Practise and be knowledgeable on the Equality Act.
You’ll have substantial experience managing complex casework, including dismissals and discrimination.

About the role
The postholder will play a key role in coordinating the donation of medicines from some of the largest UK and European pharmaceutical companies including Accord, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and GSK. We are excited to be recruiting for a new Communications Coordinator at Volunteer Centre Hackney who will play a key role in helping increase volunteering and grow strong thriving communities across Hackney. You will take the lead in developing and implementing regular communications campaigns that celebrate the diversity of, and our work with Hackney’s local communities. This will include targeted campaigns around a number of topic specific awareness days, as well as with and for specific communities, to increase our reach across diverse populations.
You will roll out our brand refresh across all our programmes, working together with VCH staff to ensure buy-in. You will be proactive to create new and interesting materials to promote our services and their impact to a wide range of stakeholders including new funders as well as partners, and will ensure all our social media channels and websites are updated.

The Head of Support Services will work with the Director of Support Services to create a positive, supportive culture of personal growth, underpinned by a holistic and empowering health and wellbeing approach.
Supported by the trustees, the CEO, staff and service users, the postholder will be a leader and will provide a constant stimulus for self-improvement in a learning, supportive and diverse environment. A candidate with a proven track record of delivery, they will provide high level and efficient management of Betknowmore UK support and community programmes, including all three primary services, GOALS, New Beginnings and Peer Aid, as well as bespoke projects which include the development of Hubs within key London Boroughs and creating digital activities.
The postholder will work to ensure impactful service provision and outcomes; recruit, train and supervise a team of staff/mentors/volunteers to deliver support and community activities; and oversee service integration and collaboration with the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN) partners and other key stakeholders.
A key aspect of the role will be to work closely with people presenting with gambling-harm issues and/or people impacted by someone else's gambling. The Head of Support Services will oversee sustainable recovery interventions which may include structured psycho-social 1:1 and group activities, counselling and therapy, peer and mentoring support, with services co-produced by clinicians and health professionals, and insight and knowledge from experts by experience.
The candidate should demonstrate previous experience of management and oversight of similar programmes of work, within mental health, addiction or community NHS or voluntary sectors.
Experience of gambling support and treatment and/or harm minimisation programmes is desirable, but not essential.
Working with other members of the Senior Management Team, they will input into the management of the charity, as well as supporting grant, contract and tender submissions, operational management, governance, performance and contract monitoring and outcome reporting. This will include financial planning and budgeting.

Development and Delivery
