We’re looking for an experienced Fundraising Lead to join an important charity that exists to help Surrey’s unpaid carers, aged 5-95 to help people feel more in control of their lives and less alone.

Salary: £25,875 for 30 hours per week, full-time equivalent salary is £31,051

About the role:

The Fundraising Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate partnerships that increase income and diversify funding. The post holder’s primary focus will be community organisations, businesses and other bodies.

You will support the organisation to deliver services and support for unpaid carers. You will be engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and drive fundraising efforts, community engagement, gifts-in-kind, volunteer engagement and awareness raising.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Develop a partnership engagement strategy that raises the profile of the organisation.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with community and corporate partners that support fundraising, gifts-in-kind and volunteer engagement.
• Act as the primary point of contact for community and corporate partners.
• Explore and promote opportunities for sponsorship, donations and corporate giving.
• Support fundraising events and activities undertaken by community and corporate partners, groups and individuals.
• Support the finance manager in developing and writing bids and grant applications for projects.
• Organise community outreach events, workshops, and information sessions to build relationships and encourage support.
• Represent the charity at networking events, conferences, and community forums to develop partnerships and promote the organisation.

About you:

This new position, reporting to the Marketing Manager, requires a dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and networking skills, capable of developing relationships.

Key skills required for this role:

• Experience working in community engagement, business development, or similar roles.
• Experience in identifying, supporting and growing relationships with corporate partners and/or community groups
• Experience organising events and engagement activities.
• Knowledge of developing stakeholder engagement plans/strategies (preferably in the not-for-profit or charitable sectors).
• Confident in delivering engaging presentations and activities to diverse groups of stakeholders.
• An innovative approach to engaging partners and stakeholders with a willingness to try new initiatives.
• An ability to work independently and manage own time, priorities and workload.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.

The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The successful candidate will be an asset within Salford Royal Hospital, providing education to staff and patients on pathways into community provision to support discharge from the hospital.

You’ll use a strengths or assets-based social prescribing (person-centred) approach to address the needs of individual patients during the discharge planning and admission process.

To coordinate and grow York Mind’s community and events fundraising income through effective networking, event, and volunteer coordination.

This role sits within our Corporate Wellbeing Service team, where you will mainly work alongside our Head of Corporate Wellbeing Services and Corporate Fundraiser, to generate income for the charity through community engagement and events. You will be responsible for meeting the annual community and events income target. The role will require someone with strong organisational skills, and prior experience as a Fundraiser in another organisation. You will divide your time between developing, planning, and running events, supporting people to raise money on behalf of York Mind, and creating new relationships in the community, such as with schools and sports clubs. We have an annual calendar of both internal and external events, including our annual Mental Elf run, as well as challenges such as the York 10k and Yorkshire Marathon. Your role will be to fill events, and effectively steward and support people to raise as much money as possible through their participation. As part of your role in event coordination, you will be responsible for our fundraising volunteer base, including recruitment and effective utilisation of volunteers at our various events. Flexibility will be key, as some events happen on evenings and weekends. Another important part of this role will be engaging and developing relationships with community supporters. You should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy getting out and about in the community (eg. sports clubs/community organisations) to grow our supporter base and look after those who we currently work with. Finally, the Corporate Wellbeing Services Team work collaboratively and therefore you should be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support others in their roles to ensure the effective running of the whole department. For example, you may be involved in running campaigns and referring individuals to our training courses. This will require someone who is adaptable and supportive.

Position Overview

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Prospect Research:

Conduct research on prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, to identify new funding opportunities and support donor cultivation efforts.

Communication:

Conduct research and develop compelling fundraising proposals for trusts, foundations, corporations, and individuals. Assist in creating and distributing engaging fundraising materials, including appeal letters, newsletters, and social media content, to captivate donors and promote our fundraising initiatives.

Donor Management:

Assist in maintaining donor records, including contact information, donation history, and communication preferences, using a CRM database.

Donation Processing:

Process donations, issue acknowledgment letters, and ensure accurate recording of donations in the database.

Fundraising Campaign Support:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, including mailings, online fundraising initiatives, and donor appreciation events.

Grant Administration:

Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, reports, and other grant-related materials, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.

Reporting:

Generate reports on fundraising activities, donor trends, and campaign outcomes to track progress and inform decision-making.

Administrative Support:

Provide administrative support to the Fundraiser, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with staff across departments to integrate fundraising efforts with other organizational activities and initiatives.

Strategic:

Work closely with the Fundraiser to develop and implement the charity’s fundraising and income development strategy.

The Role

The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a Digital Enabler. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. The Digital Enabler will facilitate the effective participation by all members in the life of the Church in the North West England District by supporting stakeholders at all levels to facilitate digital evangelism and building and maintaining the District’s online presence.

NWED

NWED came to being in September 2024 following the joining together of a number of Methodist Districts. We cover the geographical area of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. Within this are inner city, industrial, post-industrial, suburban, and rural areas – no two towns are the same.

The District embraces a rich breadth and variety of theological perspectives and worship styles. A range of fresh expressions of Church (messy church, café church, arts-based projects, digital spaces etc.) are nurtured without neglecting the other, more traditional, expressions and all are equally valued.

We exist primarily to advance the mission of the Methodist Church in our District by supporting churches and circuits (a circuit is a group of churches served by a team, including one or more ministers). The District seeks to support each circuit and church to meet the needs of their members and the communities in which they serve, offering opportunities to worship, work and learn together.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Preston and Sefton. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.  

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

How will you make a difference?

You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.

You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and will assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Team and Rota Administrator for the National Domestic Abuse Helpline. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is Refuge’s largest service. We have a busy team of Helpline Advisers working around the clock to support our callers, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, and a fantastic pool of volunteers. We are looking for a highly organised, experienced Administrator who is passionate about ending domestic abuse and has great knowledge of GDPR legislation, to help us improve our systems and manage some of the day-to-day processes that make our work possible, including our complex rotas. This is a new role, and the post-holder will have the opportunity to shape how we do things, as well as playing a critical part in our life-saving work.
