We’re looking for a new STH Practitioner to provide high quality and effective Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) programmes for adults in our gardens in Battersea Park and outreach settings. Working alongside volunteers this role will support people with learning disabilities, autism, long term health conditions or other disabilities.
Based at Thrive London in Battersea Park. The role will involve some work undertaken off-site in London and occasional travel to the Thrive Centres in Reading and Birmingham.
Appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check. Thrive complies fully with the DBS Code of Practice. Having a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an individual from working for Thrive.

What you'll do:
Supporting people with complex disabilities to take part in a range of learning, leisure, health and wellbeing-based activities during daytime hours, with some occasional flexibility required on an out of hours basis
Supporting customers to access leisure and learning-based opportunities both at Antill Road and in the community in line with their individualised activity plan

Job Purpose:
The Housing Options Officer will provide direct support to vulnerable young people, assisting them in moving toward independent living. Duties and Responsibilities:
Housing Needs:

- Provide benefit advice and guidance to residents, helping them maintain their accommodation and prevent rent arrears.

About this vital role
Our Pantry project will support and engage with individuals and families providing them with positive empowering support to address issues such as wellbeing, housing, debt, and employment. People using the Pantry pay a weekly subscription and, in return, are able to access an abundance of affordable, nutritious food and added support.
The Pantry Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day running of the Pantry, including carrying out and complying with all health and safety procedures and policies, ensuring stock is stored and managed in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations and providing nutritional and meal planning support and where needed healthy eating plans.
As well as supporting, managing and working alongside a team of volunteers, you will also positively support clients with a range of practical issues, including benefits and debt advice and wellbeing, provide emotional support around areas such confidence building and developing resilience, plus develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies. Managing the completion of all new client inductions, including Initial Needs Assessments, Risk Assessments and Action Plans, and promoting the service within the local community, arranging promotional events as needed, are also key duties.

Salary: £27,400 to £29,000 pa + benefits (based on a 36-hr working week)

The setting is an all-female Children’s Home for 13-to-17-year-olds.
Ideal candidates will join a strong team of Practitioners who put love and kindness into everything they do.
We are passionate about learning and development and committed to providing an outstanding experience for all staff. After completing your probation, we’ll enrol you on a Diploma programme and give you the time, support and incentives to succeed.
Practitioners typically work at least two 12-hr shifts pw, one 8hr shift, and attend team meetings, training, and group thinking space on Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The total number of working hours is 36 hrs pw. 4hrs per week are allocated to self-study to support the successful completion of your probation and, once enrolled, the Children and Young People’s Practitioner Diploma (Level 4).

About you
The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s host organisation. The peatland agenda has expanded exponentially over the last 10 years and you will need to be an excellent team player and networker to capture what is happening and communicate this to multiple partners and stakeholders. The Communications and Engagement Lead post is a standalone communications post within a small team (9 people) and your ability to quickly develop good relationships with partner organisations will be critical to your success in the role.
You will be lead on the delivery of the communications strand of the Peatland Programme’s activity. Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The rota will include early shifts (08:00 - 16:00), late shifts (14:00 - 22:00), and weekends.
