Senior Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Remote (UK based) with travel required

Salary: £34,200 (Grade 4) per year (plus Inner London Weighting of £3,483.94, if eligible)

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer role: 

As Senior Quality Assurance Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting and innovating Women’s Aid’s National Quality Standards (NQS) offer for member services. Sitting within Women’s Aid’s busy Membership Team, the postholder will successfully lead in supporting member services to continually improve and evidence good quality specialist responses to survivors’ needs in local service provision and will support the internal team alongside external consultant assessors to deliver a strong quality framework that reflects the diversity, and complex work of our members.  A key time for Women’s Aid to connect our policy work, our membership and our strategic campaigning work around the standards that fully represents the unique value of the membership body. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• To be responsible for the coordination of delivery of Women’s Aid National Quality Standards assessments including ensuring assessment processes are completed in a timely manner. 
• Scheduling Quality Assessment Panels including recruitment of panelists. This will include responsibility for ensuring terms of reference are fulfilled and ensuring potential conflicts of interest are identified and addressed. 
• Presenting assessments to the Quality Assessment Panel in the unavoidable absence of the assessor and notetaking including recording outcomes, actions and decisions where required.
• To support the Chair of the Quality Assessment Panel in conducting panel meetings and highlight areas of risk or conflict to the Chair in advance of meetings.
• Be first point of contact for dealing with appeals and complaints, managing low to middle-risk complaints and escalating to the Membership Resolution Manager as required for high risk complaints. 
• Responsibility for allocation of assessments to internal and consultant assessors ensuring target dates are met and operational considerations, such as location and conflict of interests, are considered. 
•  To conduct quality standards assessments of domestic abuse services, including reviewing evidence, making site visits, writing assessment reports and presenting cases to the Quality Assessment Panel.
• Review of assessment reports for quality, adherence to standards and consistency prior to presentation at Quality Assessment Panel, including giving feedback to the assessor and ensuring this is actioned.
• Develop a clear strategy and delivery plans to support the sustainability and growth of the Women’s Aid National Quality standards including supporting increase of income-generation activities.
• Line management of Quality Assurance Officer including day-to-day support, supervision and appraisal activities.
• To work across WAFE to promote the Women’s Aid National Quality Standards to commissioners and government as the ‘gold standard’ quality framework for services working with women and child survivors of domestic violence.  

What we are looking for in our Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• Knowledge of quality frameworks appropriate to domestic violence services.  
• Knowledge and proven experience of the principles of quality assurance and good practice in delivering accreditation processes.   
• A very good understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence and violence against women and girls and the intersectionality that impacts this
• Thorough understanding of the role of specialist services supporting women and children at risk of violence against women and girls   
• Experience of writing and producing briefings and reports   
• Experience of planning, delivering and managing projects within a set timeframe and with clear outputs.  
• Experience of providing and/or managing direct services to survivors of violence against women and girls.   
• Excellent verbal, written and computer literacy skills.   
• Ability to analyse complex information and identify the implications for women and children affected by domestic violence and the services supporting them.

About the Role

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. This dynamic role will sit within the Finance team and report to the Director of Finance, however it will directly support the areas of Administration, Finance, Fundraising, and three different Service Delivery functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Support service/department managers with necessary purchasing.
•  Keep up to date record of monthly invoicing information for services and liaise between the Senior Finance Officer and the Service Managers to ensure this system is running efficiently and effectively.

Finance related tasks

•  Manage Petty Cash transactions on site, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept at all times, and perform the bank runs.
• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

Salary - £28,300 per annum, plus pensions & benefits

The aim of this role will be to set up, coordinate and develop a range of dementia support for isolated and lonely 60+ residents of Hammersmith and Fulham living with dementia and their carers. 

Specifically, the Dementia Coordinator will: 

• Head up a new dementia information hub within The Creighton Centre. This will involve coordinating a Dementia information and advice service, partnering with dementia health care professionals to deliver advice, signposting and referrals to people living with Dementia and their carers. 

• Network and develop strong links with local cross sector dementia services. 

• Develop additional inclusive activities to complement existing Homeline activities e.g. dance therapy, gardening club. 

• Promote new dementia volunteer roles and support Homeline Volunteer Coordinator to recruit team of 15 Dementia Ambassadors, and up to 50 Dementia home befrienders. 

• Coordinate dementia training and ongoing support of volunteer ambassadors/volunteers. 

• Coordinate up to 30 dementia home and care home befriending matches within year 1 (up to 50 annually for year 2 and 3), with a focus on meaningful sensory activities and keeping active.

Job description

This position is full-time, permanent, and based in the ADI office in London. Some international travel for several days at a time will be required. Remote or international applicants may be considered for this role depending on circumstances.

Salary £26,000-£29,000 p.a. (London based)

Person specification

Skills knowledge and experience

Essential:

• Experience in policy and advocacy, including helping develop evidence-based policy positions and recommendations.
• Experience in preparing for and supporting stakeholder meetings. Fluency in English with an ability to analyse and write clearly and concisely about complex issues and to varying audiences.
• Strong project management skills, and an organised approach to work, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

We seek a graduate with excellent communication skills for our Recruitment team. You must be able to manage data, multitask, and adapt to dynamic environments. Enhance Frontline’s social worker training selection process with autonomy and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

We think the internship at Frontline is unlike other internships. You’ll be given plenty of opportunity to develop key skills for your future career, while also holding a core role within the team. You will be joining us at our busiest time and so will have day to day coordinator responsibilities throughout the year. You will work alongside the Strategic Projects Manager to provide flexible and high-quality project management and administrative support to the Senior Management Team, working across THET’s programmatic, operations, policy, and advocacy work.

Recently completed work ranges from providing interim programme and events management support to THET’s Experts In Our Midst programme, to project management and coordination support to the UK-Africa Health Summit. Main Responsibilities

1. To provide high-quality project management support for new and emerging areas of work, responding flexibility to opportunities and needs as agreed with the Senior Management Team and Strategic Projects Manager.

2. To broker cross-organisational collaboration with the wider staff team to deliver on these projects and manage the effective handover of responsibility to those teams at appropriate moments.

3. To flex across projects and programmes during pinch points to provide extra capacity to team members where necessary.

4. To provide sound administrative support to the Senior Management Team and Strategic Projects Manager, undertaking research, planning and on occasion, logistical support as needed.

5. To liaise with a range of senior external stakeholders in the UK and overseas in the delivery of strategic projects.

6. To provide coordination support to key events in THET’s events cycle, when additional capacity is required.

We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of researchers and STEM professionals to support young people from low socio-economic backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress to careers in STEM.

Designed in partnership with UCL, In2research is a year-long programme that aims to improve access to postgraduate research degrees and careers for people from low-socioeconomic and underrepresented backgrounds. Through workshops, mentoring, professional development days and an eight-week research placement, participants receive the development opportunities and insight they need to progress onto postgraduate research degrees and careers in STEM, Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities subjects.

We are looking for an In2research Programme Officer to help expand our high-quality programme by supporting all stages of the programme including: planning; delivery; recruitment; stakeholder management and evaluation.

With multiple internal and external stakeholders involved in the continual success of In2research, excellent communication and project delivery skills will be key in this role. Duties and responsibilities: 

The purpose of the Programme Officer role is to support the successful delivery of the In2research Programme. 

Your specific duties will include: 

Programme Delivery 

• Manage participants and volunteers from application stage to successful completion of the programme, including recruitment, matching, onboarding, troubleshooting throughout the programme and evaluation. 

• Maintain excellent working relationships with funders and delivery partners and other external stakeholders to further the delivery of our work. This will include working and communicating with academic and professional services staff at universities, consultants, placement supervisors, mentors and workshop leads

• Create and develop engaging communication materials about the programme including programme guides, presentations, posters/flyers, case studies and website text and images. 

• Work with delivery partners to design and deliver programme’s online and in-person activities, including recruiting and training speakers for: workshops; careers panels; mentoring sessions; placements and large scale away days and celebration events

• Track project performance, manage risk assessments and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard

• Ensure the highest standard of record keeping, maintaining accurate, complete, and up to date records in accordance with data protection policy

• Support the collection and creation of case studies, working closely with the fundraising team to ensure funder requirements are met.

• Evaluate programme processes/systems to recommend and implement improvements to support the delivery of a high quality programme experience for participants and volunteers.

Person specification: 

Essential: 

• Excellent organisational skills, able to multitask and manage a varied workload while paying attention to the tiny details

• Experience delivering programmes and/or projects within the education, career development and/or employability sector

• An understanding of the social and economic barriers that prevent some people from progressing into postgraduate research and an ability to recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion in postgraduate research

• Experience working with one or more of the following groups: young people, people from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, volunteers, universities or STEM professionals/employers.

• Experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

• Experience designing and delivering large-scale events, both online and in-person, such as training sessions, away days and workshops

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills and an ability to adapt to a range of audiences.

• Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to pick up new tasks quickly, showing resilience when faced with challenges.

• Knowledge, understanding or experience of programme or project evaluation. 

Desirable: 

• Experience of working with universities and academic institutions, knowledge and understanding of the postgraduate application process

• Experience of student or volunteer recruitment

• Knowledge or an understanding of safeguarding practices. 

• Excellent IT skills including experience of Gmail, Google Workspace (or Word, Excel and Powerpoint) 

• Experience working with databases.

Young People Support Worker - West London (Ealing)
