Young Enterprise’s Team Programme is an enterprise journey for students who have mild to moderate learning difficulties. Designed to aid young people’s transition from education into independent living and employment, the programme develops confidence and life skills through working as a team to set up and run an enterprise.
This hands-on and highly impactful role involves mentoring and encouraging students with learning disabilities to face the challenges of running a business, and learn critical life skills, in a safe space.
Team Programme Volunteers are primarily based within schools/ colleges supporting a group of students with learning disabilities. They will volunteer alongside school staff to ensure the young people are able to flourish. Young people particularly value volunteers who can attend in person as this support their learning and development of social skills.
The time commitment can be variable depending on the particular needs of the group. At most this will involve around one hour per week, attending weekly company meetings throughout the school academic year, however in some cases may be less frequent than this.
What you will be doing
- Coaching, mentoring, and positively supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism through their business adventure
- Attending regular company meetings within the school environment
- Liaising closely with the lead teacher to achieve the best outcomes for young people
The skills you need

- Comfortable in the presence of young people with learning disabilities (but no specific experience is necessary)
- Able to commit to attending regular face to face student company meetings within a school . Continuity for this group of young people is particularly important

Position Overview
Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will provide support to the WASH and Schools projects implemented by the NGO. The successful candidate will work within a combined national and international team to assist in the development of projects, from initial planning stages to final evaluations.
Primary responsibilities include the writing of donor reports and proposals, providing additional support to the project team surrounding project management and monitoring and evaluation. The role is predominantly office-based with some bush travel. The diversity of activities undertaken will provide a wide-ranging experience for an early career development professional who can effectively and efficiently deal with a comprehensive range of tasks related to the complex world of overseas development.
It is essential that the post holder is able to work in English to a high standard and have at least intermediate French. Candidates who do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

Duties and responsibilities:

Write project reports, to a high standard of English, that clearly demonstrate the successes and challenges of the WASH and Education infrastructure projects, learning from the project and providing clear budgetary information

Compile funding proposals based on past evaluation, team discussion and International best practice in an engaging and professional manner

Conduct internet searches and searches through SEED’s funder database for potential donors to fund projects

Take a leading role in gathering statistics and ensure that all existing statistics relating to the projects are accurate

Work alongside the Communications and Media Officer writing regular Facebook, blog posts and website copy

Support the development of projects that fulfill local need and sit within the aims of SEED taking into account research findings, local needs and constraints, government objectives and SEED’s previous experience

Conduct research into international best practice with regard to Community Health, WASH and Education infrastructure programmes and take the lead in discussing these with the team

Monitor and update project trackers according to project activities, ensuring the project is on track to meet project indicators and objectives

Work with national staff in increasing their skills and capacity, providing mentoring or training where appropriate

Person specification

Hold an undergraduate in or relating to community health, WASH, general development or have transferable skills or equivalent experience

Minimum of 1-3 years professional experience of securing funding, project management, donor compliance and donor reporting

Demonstrate strong writing skills. Previous experience in grant-writing is an asset

Our Trustees play a vital role in making sure that The Harmony Project achieves its core purpose of transforming education and putting sustainability and nature at the heart of learning. About The Harmony Project
We are a small UK registered charity. We began life in 2019 within the charity the Sustainable Food Trust. We received our charitable status in November 2022 and became a fully separate charity on 1st April 2023.
We have a core team of 6 staff, and a team of freelance writers and designers. We have an annual turnover of c. £400k. Some of the team are based in Surrey, and others are based around the UK. We are a passionate, friendly and supportive team.
Our goal is to transform education by putting sustainability and nature at the heart of learning and to see the principles of Harmony woven into the education of all pupils, both in the UK and globally. Our enquiry-based approach to learning balances academic rigour with meaningful application to the world. We support schools in adopting this approach to learning through training, teaching and learning resources and events. We work to influence education policy at a strategic level through high level networks, and we promote our ethos through our marketing and social media channels.
To date our Board has had 4 members, and we are keen to grow to 6, to allow for natural cycles of change and to ensure the Board remains a healthy size. The initial term is 3 years with a further 3 years possible.

LEVEL OF COMMITMENT
All trustees are required to attend quarterly evening and one full day Board meetings. Board meetings usually take place at the Baca main office, Loughborough, Leicestershire. As appropriate, meetings could also take place virtually.
In addition to reading papers and preparing for meetings/conference calls, Trustees may be called upon for specific advice if they have particular expertise in a given area.
According to their individual skills and experience, Trustees may also be invited to serve on Baca’s Finance or Staff & Young People Wellbeing Committees or on ad-hoc Working Groups. Committees meet quarterly, usually in advance of Board meetings.

Ready to make a difference to a young person's life? Team Up is seeking dynamic volunteers to help transform the lives of disadvantaged pupils by building confidence, resilience and doubling their expected progress in English or maths.
We are looking for inspirational role models who will tutor Maths or English on one of our school programmes across London.You will be matched with a small number of pupils and provide them with the academic support, encouragement and inspiration they need to get back on track. All our volunteer tutors receive full training, lesson resources and support from a qualified teacher/facilitator throughout their placement.
Practical Considerations:
- You can choose a programme that suits your timetable and location.
- Sessions are between 60-90 minutes and will take place on a fixed day of the week, normally at the end of the school day (between 3-5pm).
- Each programme runs across a 12 week period, usually during term time. You will be expected to volunteer for at least one programme (10-12 weeks).
- Team Up provides full lesson plans and teaching resources.
- This role requires you to undergo a free of charge DBS check, which will be arranged by Team Up.

Autism Unlimited exists to support and empower autistic children, adults and their families. We partner with them to find solutions and provide educational and life skills training.

Our trustees play a vital role in ensuring that Autism Unlimited achieves its core purpose of supporting and empowering those with autism while ensuring the charity develops and delivers it's strategy.
What will you be doing?
We seek trustees with experience in education or further education to join our board. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who will bring enthusiasm and commitment to the role and broaden the diversity of thinking on our board.
Much has changed since our founders started the charity over 50 years ago. We have grown enormously, and we know that there is still much to do.
We recognise the challenges for children, adults and their families and will work with them as partners to find solutions and create opportunities through tailored learning and support.
It is thanks to the continued hard work and dedication of everybody involved in our charity, that we can deliver new opportunities for the children and adults we support.
Today, we employ over 400 people across the South of England, and our future plans include a programme of engagement with organisations to share the benefits of employing autistic people as well as expansion of our autism and SEN college, Futures.
We want to show to the outside world that we are accessible and relevant to the autistic community, particularly those audiences or organisations which we may not have reached until now.

Overview
As a Paddle Leader you will be responsible for the safety of the group (“Fire”) to which you’re
assigned whilst paddling and/or engaging in activities on or in the margins of the river/body of
water. You will lead and manage your Fire in conjunction with at least one other expedition
Leader and will operate within the parameters set by British Exploring Society, the Chief Leader
and/or Senior Paddle Leader.

Overview - This is a Senior Leadership team role.
The Chief Leader role is key to the overall success of an expedition. As the most senior member
of our Field Leadership teams, the Chief Leader trains and manages the rest of the expedition
leadership team and takes an active role throughout the development and delivery of an
expedition. From planning to review and evaluation, through training, direct field leadership
and staff management they are crucial components in the educational experience, the
success of the leader team and the safety of the expedition.
We are looking for applicants who are:

- Able to commit to all pre-expedition training events.
