Parkinson’s UK works with health and social care professionals to transform Parkinson’s services across the UK.
We do this through the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN), a network of around 6,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.
We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.
Since its establishment in 2015, the Excellence Network has provided networking and collaboration opportunities for professionals across the different regions of the UK. In England, the Excellence Network is moving to a new regional model aligned to the 7 NHS England regions. The regional model in the devolved nations will remain the same: 3 regions in Scotland, 2 in Wales and 1 in Northern Ireland.
To help us deliver this new regional model, we are looking for 2 healthcare professionals to take on the role of Regional Clinical Lead on a consultancy basis.
We currently have vacancies in the following regions in England. To apply for the role, you will need to be based in these regions:

What will be expected of you in this role
You’ll:
- Be expected to co-opt a multidisciplinary leadership team to support you in your role. This team should reflect the multi-professional composition of regional services, as well as the geography and should include at least one person with Parkinson's.
- Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network at a regional level.
- Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services across your region.
- Act as a professional ambassador for the Excellence Network and help represent the professionals in your region.
- Engage with Integrated Care Board (ICB) leaders to help influence the development of your Integrated Care System (ICS).
- Work closely with the Professional Engagement team at Parkinson’s UK to organise and hold engagement opportunities in your region. This will include working with the team to hold and lead at least one in-person meeting in your region per year.
- Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.
- Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.
- Work closely with the PEN National Clinical Leadership Team (CLT) to discuss and review national and regional priorities. Attend a virtual meeting with CLT 2 times per year.
What expertise you’ll bring
You’ll:
- Be a UK-based clinical healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with extensive interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged to apply.
- Have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.
What you can expect from Parkinson’s UK
You’ll:
- Be formally welcomed and introduced to the Excellence Network and your role as a regional clinical lead.
- Be provided with an introduction pack, which outlines all the activities of the PEN at a national, regional and local level, so that you can gain an understanding of where your role fits in.
- Meet regularly with the Professional Engagement team to discuss and plan activity in your region, working to a co-developed engagement plan for your PEN region. We will be flexible, taking into account your individual needs.
- Meet with the Professional Engagement Lead or Associate Director of Policy & Health Strategy after 6 months in the role for a review meeting and then annually thereafter (or more frequently if required).
- Be provided with a set of resources and information to support you in your role eg. a ready made presentation on the PEN, data from the services within your patch, including relevant data from the UK Parkinson’s Audit.
- Be invited to an annual event for the National and Regional Clinical Leads, to provide updates, training and opportunities for discussion.
A bit more about the opportunity
Time commitment will be 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.
Monthly rate will be based on skills and experience.
Term of consultancy services will be set tenure of 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend once for a further 3 years.
We will also ask you/your employer to send across a monthly invoice to the Professional Engagement Manager at Parkinson’s UK and include a short paragraph outlining what you’ve done in the role each month. We can provide an example of this.

We are looking for a hands-on, all-round marketing and communications professional who will be supported by and work closely with a Strategic Communications Consultant to help manage our social media channels, roll-out campaigns, and progress sustainable, low-budget marketing and communications approaches. A large part of the role will include being responsible for maintaining our existing social media channels, including developing content ideas from start to fruition, and organic posting across Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.
Requirements
- Knowledge of best practice for social media, comfortable working closely with an animator / video editor with minimal supervision, with evidence of publishing on social media for a business or charitable organisation
- Able to write for a variety of channels including social media, email, web with minimal supervision
- Experience of optimising posts for different audiences and platforms
- Experience of using Canva, Adobe or other graphic design and editing software
- Comfortable performing outreach to key stakeholders of professional psychiatrists, teachers, healthcare workers, volunteers and community leaders, with support
- Interested in supporting PR campaigns such as conducting press outreach using a template and with support
- Mature approach, comfortable working with research papers and other materials to create content for a range of channels
- Organised and flexible, with the ability to maintain a communications calendar and other Google docs as required
- Resourceful, happy to contribute ideas and work collaboratively
- Able to follow through a task from start to completion

As we are a small team, it is key that you have a strong sense of initiative and personal responsibility, and are comfortable working independently in an environment where each of us has a role to play in increasing the support available to children and young people with a parent with a mental illness. We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.
This is a community-based position working from home but covering the Inverness, Moray and Aberdeenshire areas. The candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the regions. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

We offer a flexible and rewarding payment structure for our freelance speakers and presenters. Your earnings will come from two main sources:
Finder’s Fees – Earn extra by securing new bookings independantly:
- £50 for each school booking
- £100 for each corporate booking
Session Delivery Fees – Get paid for delivering impactful sessions:
For Schools:
- £75 for the first virtual session
- £100 for the first in-person (F2F) session each day
- Additional sessions as part of the same booking (e.g., on the same day or a parent talk via Zoom the evening before): £50 each
For Corporate Sessions:
- £200 per in-person (F2F) session
- £150 per virtual session

Are you a marine planner keen to make a change to ensure natures recovery is at the heart of the growth in marine renewables and the offshore wind sector? Working within their small but highly impactful marine team, the Marine Planning Officer will work to influence the development of marine energy policy, particularly offshore wind and the marine spatial planning process to improve the quality of decisions taken at a project and strategic level to deliver our client belief that development in the marine environment should be right technology in the right place and not at the expense of the natural environment.
You will work with the Marine Planning Manager to advocate for greater environmental sustainability of marine renewables and influence through all stages of the planning process, as well as take a lead on specific areas depending on your expertise.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Strategic Lead for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy to help drive improvements in mental health and wellbeing across the country.
As the Strategic Lead for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, you will ensure the systematic provision of high-quality mental health support for babies, children, young people and their families. You'll also support the development of psychological and psychotherapy services through designing effective new services and delivering service change and improvement across care groups, specialisms and care settings. This will include supporting and informing the strategic development of models of good practice in Barnardo's.
You will need to be a driven and collaborative team player who has proven ability to support and influence at an organisational level and will have experience working within or alongside a range of health sectors and with a variety of health stakeholders.

- Support the development of high-quality psychological practice for Children and Young People (CYP)

- Provide expertise and support to create, develop, deliver, and evaluate a suite of recognisable core service models focused primarily on mental health and wellbeing, including a range of therapeutic programmes of tiered support.
- Support evaluation of existing and new pilot models of integrated health and social care and identify and help to create new models within the health marketplace
- Support the digital transformation and web presence across all existing and new pilot sites including engagement and adoption, training, and evaluation of the suite of digital tools
- Input into major contract bid opportunities for mental health contracts/opportunities
You'll have:
Education/Knowledge
- Current HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist
- Qualification in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society
- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of psychological practitioners
Skills/Experience
- Working as a registered Clinical Psychologist, for a minimum of 5 years and specialising at a senior level in a clinical field relevant for the post
- Professional leadership or management of registered and pre-registered clinical psychologists and able to demonstrate examples of positive impact within service delivery
- Working in specialist mental health provision for children and young people, including multi-disciplinary working

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for marketing and communications at Soundabout which includes:
• Review, update, and deliver a marketing and communications strategy and calendar to support Soundabout's goals, supported by the CEO.
• Plan and deliver strategic marketing campaigns and events (mostly digital), with strategic support from the CEO, including an annual winter fundraising campaign and ad host virtual events to promote Soundabout and build stakeholder relations.
• Develop, manage, and update the content on Soundabout's main website (WordPress), keeping it compelling, accessible, and on brand for all our key audiences.
• Maintain and update the Soundabout Families and Soundabout Choir Hubs websites, ensuring they stay up-to-date and on brand.
• Create, publish, and schedule posts for Soundabout's social media channels with the aim of engaging and growing our audience and in line with strategy, working with the CEO and wider team to determine content. Replying to and moderating conversations in our community spaces. We are currently active on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Bluesky.
• Design digital and printed marketing materials and publications, such as newsletters, annual reports / impact reports, and flyers for our different audiences.
• Collate content from across the team, to write and circulate newsletters and ad hoc bulletins, editing content so it is coherent in style, using MailChimp.
• Maintain brand consistency across all communications and craft clear, engaging, and inspiring market copy and compelling communications about Soundabout’s work.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the Soundabout community to collect and share their stories in an authentic and respectful way, further developing Soundabout’s storytelling work.
• Work with Administrator to review mailing lists set up on Salesforce (our CRM system).
• Promoting Soundabout’s commissionable activities, maintaining regular communications with commissioners, and proactively anticipating and negotiating renewals.
• Drafting and circulating thank you letters and other regular communications with Soundabout donors, funders, supporters, as directed by CEO.
• Be innovative: review and implement new technologies to improve our campaigns, drive engagement and boost supporter experience.
• Be reflective: review campaigns and proactively adapt plans to optimise future results. Provide analytics for reporting.
• Share stories externally, utilising publications / journals / virtual spaces related to the sectors Soundabout inhabits.
• Review and update automated responses for mailing list sign ups and donations.
