We're looking for an experienced Events Manager to join our External Engagement Team (EET), to lead strategy and delivery of our portfolio of events, including our Annual THET Conference and the UK-Africa Health Summit, alongside other events such as in UK parliament, and overseas.

You will work closely with the with the Policy and Events Officer and the Communications and Convening Coordinator, and also engaging closing with different functions and teams across THET for successful delivery.

If you have a track record for delivering physical and online events particularly targeted at the likes of policy-makers and decision-makers, ideally in health/ development, this is a great opportunity for you to join a welcoming and high performing team.

You'll be working hands-on and will need to be available in London for key events, and occasionally other parts of the country/ overseas and sometimes at unsociable hours, ensuring availability at our flagship events THET Conference 6th and 7th November 2024 and UK-Africa Health Summit 17th to 19th March 2025. In the unlikely event of a date change, flexibility will be required.

About this role

Following the significant development of EduSpots’ income and activities in the last year, we are looking for an experienced finance and operations professional to provide exceptional support to the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Development, and Head of Operations (Ghana-based) to ensure the development of robust financial and operational systems, policies and processes. 

The candidate can work from any location, but will have a strong knowledge of UK law and charity accounting in an international development charity context. You will be a self-starter, able to work independently on tasks assigned, whilst proactively suggesting improvements to our systems, policies and wider strategic development.

Main duties and responsibilities 

• Work with the UK Finance Officer (volunteer) and Ghana based Finance Manager and Head of Operations to oversee global finances, so that consolidated management accounts and donor financial reports can be produced.
• Support with the roll-out of new accounting software and reviewing intercompany financial processes to ensure accountability and compliance with recognised accounting standards.
• Support with bank account management and reviewing funds transfers.
• In future, possibly manage staff payroll, including tax and pension contributions.
• Oversee the onboarding and screening of new staff, contractors or volunteers in the UK and other locations outside Ghana, including reference checks, criminal records checks, preparing contracts, etc.
• Review and keep organisational policies and procedures (including staff handbook) up to date, staying abreast of any changes in the wider external legal and operating environment. 
• Monitor compliance to organizational policies and escalate compliance and operational risks to the CEO. 
• Monitor and renew insurance cover.
• Support with other tasks related to finance and operations as time permits.

• Qualification in accounting, or working towards one.

About the role

Sightsavers’ work in the field of education is driven by the principle of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. We are looking for a Global Technical Lead – Inclusive Education to provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education to guide the development and delivery of specific initiatives and programmes.

As the Global Technical Lead for Inclusive Education, you will support Sightsavers to promote inclusive education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in education systems in West Africa, East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA), and South Asia. Working across multiple countries, you will ensure that disability inclusion is at the centre of conceptualisation, design and implementation of Sightsavers’ projects.

Strong communication skills in English and French are essential for this role, as is the availability to travel 12-16 weeks a year, nationally and internationally.

• Business to fluent French language skills
• A proven record of leading, developing and implementing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries.
• Experience of working with national governments and international institutions such as Global Partnership for Education, UN agencies, bilateral agencies as well as non-state actors to contribute to education system transformation.
• Knowledge of current developments, issues and best practice in inclusive education to effectively address the barriers to education for children with disabilities

About the Role

KHULA Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising leader to lead KHULA’s fundraising and communication efforts in the UK and South Africa. The postholder will join us at an exciting time and help us to continue our growth trajectory which has seen our annual budget increase from £250,000 to £1 million in the past several years. Supported by the South Africa based CEO, and working closely with the UK Board of Trustees, the postholder will be joined by a new Fundraising Officer who you will line manage.

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual with strategic vision who will play an active part in developing KHULA’s future fundraising strategy. 70% of the role is focused on fundraising directly for our work, 30% on managing KHULA’s communications including donor newsletters and social media content (this may evolve with the recruitment of an Officer).

Key Responsibilities

• Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. The post holder is responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors, leading donor meetings and involving our Board and CEO as appropriate.
• Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.

Person Specification

Ideally you’ll have held a role with a similar scope of responsibilities around fundraising and communications, however you don’t need to have held a director level role before. Experience in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as you’ll need to be comfortable with both the strategic development side and inputting into wider planning, as well as being a leader who is willing to role up your sleeves and ‘do’.

We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who demonstrate most/all of the following attributes:

• A proven track record of personally delivering income of at least £1 million per year, including new business
• Experience in a fundraising leadership role and confidence in working alongside and advising at board level
• Experience in successfully fundraising from trusts, foundations, major donors and corporates, with experience in other areas (events, legacies etc.) also welcome
• Excellent proposal and donor communication writing skills (written samples of previous work will be requested)
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously with a largely virtual team
• Comfortable acting in the capacity of charity ambassador, establishing new relationships and identifying new funding opportunities

The purpose of this role is to project manage the WAGGGS European Guide Conference (EGC) and the Europe Guide and Scout Conference, jointly with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Vienna Scouts.

More about the event:   

The EGC and the EGSC are delivered together as a 4-day event with some elements online. The event will take place in Vienna, Austria in July 2025 in partnership with the host organisation, the Vienna Scouts. This is the main platform for decision makers in our 42 European Member Organisations to gather for networking and consultation on the direction of travel. The International Commissioners (IC) Forum will take place from 5-8th December in Malta and is the platform for stakeholder engagement prior to the conferences.   

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Project manage the delivery of the in-person EGC to ensure that the event fulfils the objectives and is delivered on time and within the WAGGGS budget.

2. Manage relationship with WOSM and the Vienna Scouts to ensure communication is smooth and that WAGGGS’ input to the EGSC is provided within agreed timelines.

3. Build and manage relationships with WAGGGS staff, volunteers, partners and Membership Organisations, including working closely with volunteers around the Conferences.

4. Manage the budget for the EGC. 

5. Manage logistics and coordinate the content of the EGC in collaboration with Europe region staff team and volunteers.  Support the EGSC with these elements.

6. Support the development of the event risk assessment. 

7. Oversee the conferences’ circulars in collaboration with communications colleagues.

At TLC, we support the development of ethical, sustainable living and deceased donor kidney transplant programs, through collaboration with our specialist transplant volunteers from the UK NHS. Through various teaching methods and resources, including travel to partner centres, we empower overseas healthcare professionals (HCPs). TLC is the 'go-to' organisation for fledgling transplant programmes. We achieve this through direct training, transplant missions and observerships supplemented with mentoring, online teaching, resources and support

We are looking for a Partner Centre Project Manager who will manage all aspects of TLC partner projects. The Partner Centre Project Manager will be responsible for delivering the objectives outlined in the strategy and managing the training/mentoring programs for partner centres.

The TLC Team

Transplant Links is a small, flexible, and highly motivated team comprising a CEO, Director of Medical Activities, and Project Administrator. The Partner Centre Project Manager will report directly to the CEO, and collaborate closely with the Director of Medical Activities, working with over 50 NHS volunteers.

The Role

As we have expanded our global reach we need a Partner Centre Project Manager to develop and implement training programs in our partner centres worldwide. Primary responsibilities include project management of partner centres coordinating their training and resource allocation, and stakeholder communication  (healthcare institutions, supporters, HCPs). This involves organising missions, where a team of UK volunteers travels to facilitate living donor kidney transplants in situ. These missions will be led and supervised by the project manager.

The Partner Centre Project Manager also assesses and addresses the evolving needs of partner medical centres, ensuring that the training programs remain pertinent and customised to the specific requirements of partner centres. They will monitor the program’s expenditure within agreed budgets and ensure compliance of the activities and expenditure with TLC policies, whilst also taking the lead on program reporting to supporters. Crucially, they will be responsible for liaising with local program leaders (doctors, nurses and hospital managers), volunteer HCPs from the UK and stakeholders in the field (often Health Ministries and hospital management).

Primary accountabilities include: the completion of missions within a given time frame; abiding by the policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety of TLC volunteers and staff; identifying and managing risks within programs and proposing mitigation strategies; moving each partner centre through the phases of development as per the strategy; assessing prospective partner centres; progress reporting and communicating performance; managing budgets and resourcing requirements

Example tasks include meeting online with partner centres; writing plans and budgets for overseas missions; meeting online with a current or potential sponsor of a partner centre; liaising with TLC volunteers; facilitating meetings with key stakeholders; making in person visits in UK and abroad; working with TLC volunteers to design itineraries for upcoming observerships; preparing performance reports on centre progress and KPI’s

Role Requirements - Candidate Specification

We invite applicants with strong leadership qualities and an appetite for solving complex problems to apply to join our team. Applicants should have excellent project/program management and organisational skills and at least 5 years of project management experience at a similar level, preferably with a background in a relevant international/development management or implementation role, and ideally in healthcare and the charity sector. 

With demonstrable experience in designing, initiating and leading complex development processes and programs, applicants should have a significant understanding of budget management, time management, stakeholder management and financial reporting. Previous experience in successfully managing complex programs within the international development and/or health sectors is needed, and experience working in LMICs would be desirable.

The Partner Centre Project Manager will be expected to work from home on a laptop/computer and to travel overseas to partner centres as needed. They will be working both with other members of the TLC team at times and on their own. UK DBS check will be required

About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:

• Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.

• Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

Specialist areas will include:

Learning and Development

• Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
• Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
• Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
• Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
• Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework

Other

• Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
• Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
• Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
• Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
• Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
• Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
• Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
• Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)
• A strong commitment to the principles of justice, equality, diversity and inclusion within the context of developing learning opportunities
• A passion for action on climate change and a commitment to social justice

What you’ll be doing

Your focus will be to grow our charity’s impact and revenue streams by fundraising for environmental education, benefitting people and nature by securing funds from supporters, trusts/foundations, and businesses.

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant governmental, sector and business opportunities to identify potential funding opportunities
• Fundraising administration including gift processing, donor thanking and stewardship

Bridges Outcomes Partnerships (BOP) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that works alongside Government, community groups and specialist Delivery partners to design and deliver vital services that support people to improve their lives, in areas ranging from housing and employment to education and health & wellbeing.

About the opportunity

As an Impact Analyst, you will work within a team across 2-3 social impact projects initially. An example of one of the programmes you will become a key part of delivering is a community based, preventative emotional resilience and wellbeing pilot called Turning Tides.

Turning Tides is a two-year pilot programme testing innovative means of protecting and promoting the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable young people along the North Yorkshire Coast. The programme leverages local organisations and their expertise, providing each young person a dedicated coach who works to identify a participant's strengths and ambitions – and takes a community-based asset development approach to match those goals with opportunities in the local area.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include.

· Overseeing all data related aspects of the programme including data collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentation.

· Gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to measure the impact of service innovations for the programmes you are working across. Produce regular reports and insights that aid decision making to continuously improve programme design.

· Taking initiative to propose and implement relevant analyses to the project to maximise positive impact for participants with the programmes you are supporting.

· Building relationships and working at times directly with Delivery Partners (VCSE organisations who are delivering the frontline services for the programme) to ensure they are able to use the data systems accurately and effectively,

· Identifying opportunities for process automation and improving utilisation of management data by colleagues across the programme.

· Supporting the Programme Lead on all operational and project management needs, including coordination of team activities and providing other administrative support.

· Working with the Investment Lead and colleagues in Finance, to ensure invoices for outcomes achieved by participants within programmes are processed.

· Engaging with other analysts across BOP to share learnings from your own project and implement learnings from other projects in your own.

What you need to know about this role:

In 2023, we launched an online information hub for our carers where they can find out about services that can support them in their journey. This currently sits separate to our main site. We are now working with Studio24 to bring these sites together, to create a unified user experience, with new website functionality. A key consideration for this development is our recent Department for Education contract to deliver high quality training to carers across England. As part of this service, we must ensure that carers can seamlessly book online or face-to-face training through our website. Additionally, they should have access to a wide range of online information and advice content. While some of this functionality exists within our current digital estate, not all of it does and there is room for improvement. Therefore, the redevelopment project aims to create a cohesive website experience with clear user journeys and new functionality.

The type of person we’re looking for:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in project management and UX. You will be experienced in managing complex digital projects throughout their lifecycle. You will be able to work collaboratively and have excellent communication skills to engage both internal and external stakeholders. You will have a genuine passion for working with and involving users in meaningful ways and have a particular interest in accessible and inclusive design. You will be able to build rapport with internal stakeholders, keeping them up to date with digital developments, explaining things in easily accessible language and obtaining buy-in from across the organisation.
