Position Overview
Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will provide support to the WASH and Schools projects implemented by the NGO. The successful candidate will work within a combined national and international team to assist in the development of projects, from initial planning stages to final evaluations.
Primary responsibilities include the writing of donor reports and proposals, providing additional support to the project team surrounding project management and monitoring and evaluation. Duties and responsibilities:

Write project reports, to a high standard of English, that clearly demonstrate the successes and challenges of the WASH and Education infrastructure projects, learning from the project and providing clear budgetary information

Mentor Liaison Officer - Youth Mix Mentor Programme

ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Mentor Liaision Officer to join our team supporting our exciting new mentor programme. This role will be reporting to the Operations Manager but will also work closely with the HR Manager as well as other key project people.
This volunteer will be our key contact for our Youth Mix Mentors. They will provide regular communication between Youth Mix and mentors, such as induction emails and meetings to confirm expectations as a mentor, monitoring the completion of mandatory training, updating them on progress of the project, updates on assigning a mentee and supporting their needs as required.
ROLE TITLE:

Key duties will include the following:

Work with the HR Manager to complete the onboarding of mentors.

Work with the team to ensure timely allocation of mentee to mentor.

Work with the team to actively resolve any issues that prevent mentors from performing their duties.

Ensure mentors complete mandatory training. Check on progress, assign the right courses, collect and store certificates, updating the tracker and ensure timely reimbursements as necessary.

Keep up to date with any changes required to training courses and/or processes to ensure they are relevant. Suggest updates and improvements to mentor documentation as required.

Obtain feedback from mentors to improve the Mentoring Programme as appropriate.

Support the charity (from a mentor lens) as required by the Programme Manager/HR Manager and CEO to achieve the objectives of the project.

Volunteer Officers are a key part of our team, working with young people and the local community at Skelton Grange Environment Centre. You will be trained and supported by experienced project staff and work as part of a team with paid staff, trainees and Volunteer Officers.
Typical activities for a Volunteer Officer include:
- Running environmental education, play and engagement activities for groups of children and young people on the Skelton Grange Environment Centre site.

Role Summary
As the grants officer, you will work closely with the fundraising team and the academic team, to write proposals and apply for funding. This will involve research into grants offered by trusts, foundations and institutions, identifying which opportunities Roots Academy would be eligible for, and playing a key role in developing proposals for grant applications.
Key tasks
- Research:
○ Research trusts, foundations, institutions and other funding bodies that offer funding for Islamic education, BAME education, other faith based or inter-faith work, building community cohesion, or other areas which would be applicable to Roots Academy.
○ Identify key funding opportunities and calls for applications.
- Grant Writing and Coordination:
○ Plan and oversee the proposal development process, working closely with the academic team to collate relevant planning and impact information for proposal narrative, and with the finance team to prepare budget requirements.
○ Ensure proposals are written in line with the relevant proposal guidelines.
○ Submit grant applications.
- Donor Relations:
○ Act as the main point of contact for trusts, foundations, institutions and other funding bodies.

Commitment

Trustees are asked to take a special interest in an area of our work, and outside of board and committee meetings staff may consult with you on particular subjects, especially within your own area of expertise.

We meet twice a week and we’re always looking for volunteers who are willing to try their hand at anything. You could find yourself teaching skills, running activities, or providing encouragement and moral support. If you have specialist skills, we can use them. If you want to learn new skills like rock climbing or gliding, we can train you.

To be a volunteer you need to
- Be aged 20 years or more (uniformed officers serve up to age 65)
- have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
- commit to a certain number of hours
- understand young people and their needs
- be patient, responsible and kind
- have a good level of fitness, but by no means be an athlete
We know our volunteers may have families, jobs and hobbies, so we can be flexible and work around other areas of your lives. All we expect in return is clear communication, good organisation and commitment to your squadron.
You do not need
- a military background or experience
- experience of working with young people
- relevant skills like flying or gliding
If you choose to progress into a uniformed role, we provide uniforms and all the training you’ll require and there are opportunities to move up through the ranks as an officer or senior non-commissioned officer (SNCO). You’ll be guided through the process of interviews at Wing HQs and Regional HQs.
While our volunteers don’t get paid, if you progress to be an officer or non-commissioned officer you can claim for up to 28 days’ volunteer allowance.
Typical joining process
- Submit an expression of interest
- Visit the squadron
- You’ll have an informal interview (usually when you make the first visit)
- Invited to complete an online application
- Get access to the RAF Air Cadets online system to complete the final forms
- Have a DBS check
After your DBS is successful, you’ll be able to attend the squadron and help with activities on a 6-month probation. During this time you’ll complete our mandatory Adult Volunteer Induction Course. After your 6 months, you can then attend external activities too.
The time from initial enquiry through to starting as a volunteer can vary depending on the availability of current volunteers, but on average it takes around three months. This is due to the enquiries that need to be made, including a DBS, as part of our safeguarding checks.

Chichester College Group have been on an impressive yet complex journey over the last seven years. The Group has been formed through Chichester College merging with a number of like-minded providers from across the region; Central Sussex College (2017), Worthing College (2019), and Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (2022). Haywards Heath became part of the Group when it opened in 2020. Who we are looking for.
Following recent changes and developments across the Group, we have now entered a period of consolidation for our Board, allowing us to reflect on recent successes whilst moving forward with both ambition and stability. Having reflected on the talents and skills of our Board members, we have identified a number of areas which we feel we need to strengthen, given ongoing development and the upcoming launch of a new long-term strategy. As such, we seek to appoint four new governors to our Board, each with a specific skill set to help us grow and develop in different ways:
- Finance – strategic oversight and professionally qualified
- Capital development, estates management and/or facilities management
All of our governors share a passion for self-development through education and an understanding of the important role that Chichester College Group plays in developing local individuals and bringing prosperity to our region.
Previous governance experience and an understanding of boardroom behaviours and governance processes are important as this will allow you to get up to speed quickly and ensure you can be effective from day one. We do, of course, offer a full induction process and constant support throughout your time on our Board. As we are sure you’d expect, there are parts of our training which are mandatory – such as safeguarding training.
We are looking for people who are comfortable in offering constructive feedback, happy to ask those difficult questions that help us think differently, and individuals who are willing to make a commitment to be visible and supportive advocates of our Group.
You will need to have the capacity and time to commit to this opportunity with a busy meetings schedule and an array of events that Governors are invited to take part in as part of the academic calendar. Overview - This is a Senior Leadership team role.
The Deputy Chief Leader (DCL) role varies on each expedition. The DCL will work closely with
the expedition’s Chief Leader to take a prominent role in planning and training before & during
expedition, and in post expedition reporting. On larger expeditions, this is a Leader position in its own right whilst in others it may be an additional responsibility allocated to an existing Leader position i.e. you could be both a group (‘Fire’) Leader or Base Camp Manager as well as the DCL.

- Comfortable spending extended periods in remote and sometimes harsh environments.
- Able to commit to all pre-expedition training events.

M4RD is a UK charity that is advancing rare disease training for medical professionals. The aim of our work is to help reduce diagnostic delay and improve patient experience for those impacted by rare conditions.
