This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing and established health and social care charity. As a Grant and Community Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in our Fundraising team, helping us secure the funding necessary to sustain and enhance our vital services, primarily in the Bedfordshire area. You’ll be at the forefront of our Business Development strategies, identifying and capitalising on new funding opportunities to support our capacity-building initiatives and strategic ambitions.
The role offers flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home, coupled with in-community engagements. This role is pivotal in cultivating relationships and elevating the visibility of our charity’s mission, to generate new and sustainable income streams.
This role offers variety and challenges for an experienced fundraiser who can hit the ground running.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5/5.30, hybrid working with travel across our services, which are based around London, Brighton, Kent, Essex, Luton, Bedford, Liverpool, and Nottingham. For this position, most of the travel will be within Bedfordshire. This role will be based from our Penrose Synergy office in Luton.

What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this can include in a fundraising and/or sales capacity which has direct transferrable skills.
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, advanced knowledge in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability and willingness to travel to various services and locations for visits and events
- Ability to carry out research and lead on outreach and partnership building initiatives in various locations which can include locations of rural communities
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people who experience multiple complex disadvantages
OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNDRAISING
- Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
- Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting.
- Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value.
- Work alongside the team to develop high-quality grant funding applications, cases for support, and budgets. Complete the end-to-end process, ensuring all applications are thorough and competitive.
- Oversee grant reporting and invoicing, ensuring prompt fulfilment in line with all grant agreements and reporting requirements, liaising with relevant teams across the Group.
- Plan, implement and manage various campaigns and activities, which may include but are not limited to local events, national events, outreach, and fundraising opportunities.
PARTNERSHIP BUILDING
- Attend networking events to build engagement and partnerships with local and national organisations.
- Build a rolling calendar of charity of the year application deadlines. Provide excellent stewardship, using innovative ways to keep all parties engaged and informed of relevant news and updates by SIG.
- Support partners in fundraising endeavours and signposting to new and existing opportunities.

What we would like, but not essential:
- Previous experience in writing successful grant applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations
- Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
- Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline which can include Marketing, English, Business Management
- Experience in a similar size organisation and/or charity sector organisation
- Confidence in presenting to varying audiences
- Proficiency in navigating online and offline fundraising tools and systems
- Knowledge of Health and Social Care, Best Practice, and the support needs of vulnerable people within society

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Growth & Branding, the Research & Development Manager will be responsible for leading Research and Development function at Enable.
Working closely with colleagues in the Growth Team and managing the R&D Officer, this person will manage conduct research, summarise findings and make recommendations in line with Enable’s strategic plan.
The Growth Team is a newly created team at Enable. They will be responsible for accelerating growth and development throughout our services and bringing Enable’s Strategic Plan to life! As a member of the Growth Team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our company, working collaboratively across departments to identify new opportunities, develop solutions, and implement strategic initiatives. Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use quantitative and qualitative research methods to develop and support research across Enable’s many product and service offerings
- Work collaboratively with Business Development colleagues to understand Enable’s business model, current projects and potential growth areas
- Review and summarize data and research findings and make recommendations to Enable teams and services
- Analyse current and prospective bids and grants, gathering supporting evidence and presenting findings to the Leadership Team
- Work closely with the Business Development colleagues and other well-connected Enable colleagues to identify and engage with stakeholders who can support aspects of the R&D process (for example, community organisations, universities, think tanks).
- Lead the development of an R&D Strategy and R&D Action Plan to guide Enable’s and the R&D Team’s approach to R&D.
- Conduct and lead feasibility assessments of initial R&D ideas (sourced from Business Development, broader Enable colleagues, and/or community) to determine feasibility of an idea to progress to the proceeding R&D stages (i.e. research, design, development)
- Lead data gathering and design-thinking workshops with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. potential consumers) to feed into the research, design and development of new products or services and/or the expansion of current products or services.
- Test prototypes or early-stage versions of product/service with potential consumers and stakeholders and iteratively refine based on feedback and testing.
- Lead analysis of qualitative and quantitative data collected through research, design and development stages (including monitoring and evaluation, and consumer testing feedback) and summarise into recommendations presented to Leadership Team / Growth Team to assist with the implementation of proposed R&D projects.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop communication and marketing products (i.e. emails, flyers, consent forms, presentations) to support R&D activities.
- Collaborating with services to ensure social impact other tangible outcomes are being measured
- Budget and forecast new research plans and developments.
- Line management and leadership of the Research and Development Officer, including performance and workload management, skills analysis and identifying and supporting opportunities for professional development.
- Represent R&D as a legitimate and integral function in internal and external engagements.

Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a Research and Development role and Experience designing and leading research studies through mixed-methods (quantitative and qualitative) with diverse community groups
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills (internal and external) through a range of engagement pathways (i.e. roundtables, meetings, emails) and platforms (virtual, in-person)
- Strong Project Management skills for research studies and interventions (including resource identification, workflow management, and budgeting)
- Experience developing strategies and action plans to guide work processes.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and efficient time and workload management.
- Experience managing research projects or programmes within timeframes and budgets
- Excellent communication, spoken and written skills
- Experience developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure performance.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills, including evidence of writing for a range of audiences and translating technical information into comprehensive and accessible communication materials and products.
- Managerial and leadership experience, including managing and leading teams in the development of quality products and/or services
- Degree- or Masters-level qualification in research, with strong academic background.

Our highly committed Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the North East England & Yorkshire Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.
You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.
To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.
Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the North East England or Yorkshire region, which includes North, South, East and West Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. There will be occasional travel around these areas and you may be required to travel at short notice for face to face meetings.
The post is part time, three days per week, working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
About the team
The team works remotely and prides itself in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in these regions, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The wider support team includes a Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Manager.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR, along with experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families, along with supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the North East & Yorkshire would be valuable.

About the role
The London Library is planning a major, multi-year building project and is looking for a Senior Facilities Officer - Project Management to work within the Buildings and Facilities Management team to help support and deliver the project.
As part of a small, hands-on team, this new role will also support the Library’s maintenance and improvement programmes, arranging contractor works and providing liaison with colleagues across the Library. The post reports to the Buildings & Facilities Manager. Some weekend and out of hours working will be required.
About you
You will hold an appropriate formal qualification within a relevant discipline, with previous experience of facilities project management, preferably in the charity, cultural or not-for-profit sector. A proven background in either FM or managing numerous refurbishments and maintenance projects is essential, along with experience of working in construction and maintenance environments, understanding and compliance of H&S law and construction regulations.
Experienced in managing budgets and project finance, the ability to build client and stakeholder relationships using exceptional inter-personal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to achieving organisational goals on time, whilst working accurately and methodically, are all a must.
You are pleasant, approachable, welcoming, helpful, and responsive even under pressure, willing to turn a hand to whatever needs doing on occasion, with a flexible approach to working hours, including out of hours cover.

To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.
Summary
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.
Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.
- Activities will include creating budget plans, completing income maximisation checks and benefit claims, carrying out switching exercises and Home Energy Surveys (this is not an exclusive list of tasks)
- Responsible for identifying cases where FSA approved advice is required, and supporting patients in the referral of their case to our approved partner organisation or other appropriate regional/national services
• Act as a gateway to local information and access to:
- Kidney Care UK Patient Grants service, raising awareness of the service and supporting applications
- Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service, to ensure patients have access to reliable and accurate patient information relating to kidney disease, patient pathways, models of care, and patient choice
- Kidney Care UK Counselling Service and other appropriate services to meet patients’ emotional and physiological needs

About this key role

What We Offer
This post is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check; and a satisfactory right to work check as appointees must have the right to work in the UK.
There is no additional pay for overtime, but Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given and agreed with the line manager when circumstances require the post-holder to work extra hours. TOIL should be taken within 2 weeks of being accrued.
All Service Coordinators are the on-call rota for 1 week every 6 - 8 weeks. There is an additional payment of £56 a week for being on-call.
Paid holiday allowance of 33 days leave per year. (This total is inclusive of 8 days in lieu of bank holidays).

Age UK Islington is developing a new befriending service in the coming months. As part of this development, we have an exciting opportunity for a part-time role as a Befriending Coordinator.

· Lead on reviewing and improving programme delivery in the South West and South East through regular visits to schools and programmes. Using data to reliably assess programme performance and engaging with quality assurance processes to drive impact.
· Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in Action Tutoring’s partner schools in the South West and South East, including members of the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring strong retention of school partnerships each academic year.

Job purpose
This is a pivotal role created to support an ambitious £80m fundraising appeal that will culminate in the creation of the new Royal Free London Cancer Centre.
The RFL, is one of the busiest cancer services in London, combining local care for a population of 2.5m with specialist services relied on by patients from all over the UK and beyond. By 2030, the number of people diagnosed with cancer in north central London is forecast to increase by 42% to 66,000 as the population ages.
The RFL urgently needs to increase its diagnostic, treatment, research and development capacity to meet the needs of our patients. In response, the Royal Free Charity is preparing a major fundraising appeal to support:
- the capital costs for the construction and equipping of a dedicated centre
- the delivery of cancer-related support services.
The campaign communications manager will support the activities of our fundraising directorate in the private phase (Autumn 2024 onwards) and the launch of the public phase of our appeal in early 2026.
The postholder will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to engage philanthropists, existing supporters, grateful patients, stakeholders and the public. It promises to be a varied and rewarding role in a small but highly collaborative and friendly team.
The role will report to our head of communications and work closely with the campaign director and colleagues in our fundraising directorate and with key clinical leads in the RFL.
The role is ideally suited to someone who is comfortable working across strategic planning and operational delivery, relishing the opportunity to translate plans into activity.
Engagement and communications department
The communications team is responsible for keeping our supporters and local residents informed about the difference we make to the patients and staff of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
We celebrate achievements and promote the charity and its successes to the world. We manage our digital presence through a range of channels including our website, our social media platforms and email marketing.
The objectives of the post are to:
- develop and deliver the overarching communications and engagement plan for the cancer campaign
- work with the campaign director and colleagues in our fundraising directorate to support the development and delivery of donor-specific communication plans
- work with the campaign chair and campaign board members to promote the campaign in sectors where they are seeking to raise significant funds i.e. tech, finance, banking, media etc
- work with the campaign director and relevant agency to produce campaign materials and ensure the patient voice is represented in the appeal
- embed and champion the campaign brand to ensure consistency across all communications
- develop and maintain a campaign web presence, ensuring it is regularly updated with relevant content
- identify opportunities for thought leadership, including long-read articles and guest blog posts
