The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partner Engagement Department which sits within War Child’s award-winning Fundraising team. War Child is growing, and the Philanthropy Manager will support the development of the Major Donor Function at War Child to retain and increase our income from major donors so that we can reach more children in the worst conflict affected countries.

Your Role
The Philanthropy Manager role is crucial in helping raise funds to enable our rapid growth and the expansion of our impact. Reporting to the Philanthropy Lead, you will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which grows unrestricted and restricted income and nurtures relationships with War Child’s existing major donors. You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored proposals to increase our reach.
As an integral member of the Philanthropy and Partner Engagement Department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, as well as being a key voice and representative internally and externally. You will contribute to the wider Fundraising & Communications strategy by taking a lead role in cross-team projects and activities.
Your Responsibilities
- Systematically identify, qualify, and strategise a pipeline for up to six figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving
- Lead on building an excellent stewardship programme, supporting relationship managers across the team to deliver sector leading supporter journeys
- Develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for existing donors to generate significant income from the portfolio. This will include personal meetings, attending networking events, writing proposals/reports and making presentations
- Take an active role, and lead where relevant, on the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of philanthropy events, including events that are hosted by Ambassadors
- Support on the development of new fundraising products which drive the stewardship programme and the retention of major donors
- Actively participate in regular department, team or working group meetings, contributing to strategy discussion and decisions that will be beneficial to the development of fundraising activities
- Record all communications with major donors on War Child’s database, Salesforce, ensuring donor information is kept up to date and properly secured at all times.
- Monitor income and expenditure targets and provide regular progress reports and updates on performance against target using War Child’s database

You Are
- Experienced in a similar fundraising role, with a specialist knowledge of major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humanitarian NGO
- Able to work independently to develop and implement fundraising strategies with a proven track record of securing five-figure gifts and delivering against targets
- A relationship manager with strong networking skills at senior levels internally and externally
- Experienced in stewardship strategies for major donors or the development of supporter journeys in order to retain donors
- Excellent skills in presenting information, verbally and in writing, including briefings and project reports to a range of audiences in a clear and confident manner
- Able to understand international development including War Child’s vision, mission and values and present War Child’s work with authority
- Organised and able to plan and prioritise to meet multiple deadlines

With new funding from the UK Government’s Just Transitions for Water Security Programme, these game changing initiatives seek to end the abuse of water in our supply chains, and to establish responsible water stewardship as the global business norm by 2030 so that trade and business accelerate, rather than undermine, shared water security. This will be achieved through mobilising the power of scientific evidence and citizen voices to trigger change in government policies, corporate practices, financial disclosure, and political and public expectations. The choreography and delivery of this change will be a core focus of the successful candidate’s work.
We are keen for the post holder to be based at Water Witness’s Edinburgh offices where they will help to mentor and nurture the next generation of water leaders, though some flexibility may be considered. This role will involve travel within the UK and internationally. The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.
The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:
- Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
- Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
- Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
- Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement the direct marketing retention strategy, ensuring that past learnings are built upon, and new ideas are tested.
- Develop and implement specific audience journeys for segments across both the life cycle of a DEC appeal and between appeals.
- Ensure timely and relevant communications to all direct marketing, community, and legacy audiences on the impact of their donations.
- Build an improved supporter journey strategy for new, repeat, and lapsed donors.
- Lead, design, and monitor the collection of audience insight during appeals.
Fundraising
- Develop the DEC’s donor journeys for individuals and community supporters, monitoring the development of segments and the engagement of repeat donors.
- Provide analysis during and following an appeal of performance to measure and report performance against key indicators and develop recommendations for improving impact in the next appeal.
- Support the stewardship of community fundraisers and groups in conjunction with the Supporter Services team.
Networking and building relationships
- Develop excellent working relationships with the DEC’s suppliers including creative agencies, media agencies, SMS and email suppliers, and the print/mailing house.
- Work with permanent and temporary staff at the DEC during appeals to maximise the success of the appeal.

Lady Margaret Hall is seeking a motivated, confident and passionate Donor Relations Officer to join the Development Team and ensure we deliver excellent stewardship to our donors.
This appointment is a fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. Hours and days are negotiable. The Development Team are hybrid working with three days per week based in the office. The position includes some out of hours work for event attendance for which TOIL will be given.

The role:
We believe Street Child has a huge opportunity to achieve even more growth in the Corporate Partnerships sector by diversifying our coverage and relationships into new industries and growth markets. The New Business Manager role will play a key role in leading our New Business activity outside of our existing portfolio. Reporting to our recently appointed Senior Manager for Partnership and New Business, your role will involve:
1. Core New Business activity: Researching and development of prospect lists for priority industries to implement New Business campaigns capable of securing multi-year high value partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a Trust Fundraising Manager with proven experience, to maximise income for Whizz Kidz services from Trusts and Foundations through researching new funding opportunities, creating high quality applications with Service staff and stewarding existing warm funders effectively.
The Role
As Trust Fundraising Manager you will secure new funding opportunities and work on a pool of warm and cold charitable Trusts with a focus on the £10,000 to £40,000 range. The role involves researching and qualifying prospects, submitting high quality funding applications and stewarding existing donors effectively. It will also involve managing reporting deadlines and matching potential donors to projects needing to be fundraised for, collaborating with our Service Teams.
You will prepare applications and reports to trusts and foundations, in line with funder deadlines, keeping in touch with donors and prospects via phone, virtually and face to face. You will match potential donors with projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach.
The person
You will have experience of: Securing funding from Trusts with excellent writing and presentation skills; Solid prospect research skills to identify new funding opportunities and maintain a forward pipeline of applications; Of working collaboratively with Service Teams to package and cost project areas; Stewardship of warm funders including preparing donor reports, reviewing financial reports and gathering case studies. You will also have strong time management skills with ability to manage and prioritise your workload and ideally experience of using a CRM for Trust Fundraising.

JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission.
We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.
We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development

Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations

Work with Corporate, Trusts and Individual Giving teams to identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Magic Breakfast’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships;

Overall purpose
The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. About the role
The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. About the role
The Prospect Development and Donor Insights Manager is a new key position within the Development Office that will lead on strategic, data-driven insights to shape our fundraising strategy and maximise the University’s fundraising potential as we embark on the University’s biggest ever fundraising campaign.

You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and strategically with individuals and teams at all levels and across functions. We need someone who has experience of writing profiles, prospect identification, media tracking and good understanding of the Data Protection Act. Experience of maintaining and developing a prospect tracking system on a fundraising database and experience of data analysis and data visualisation is also sought.
