Experience in delivering Family Group Conferences is desirable but is not essential for this role. We are looking for senior operational leaders with experience in and passion for restorative practices.

The role offers flexible, hybrid working with a requirement to be in our Eastleigh, Hampshire office two days a week (Tuesday is an essential day). A successful candidate would need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and our teams throughout our programme areas on a regular basis, depending on service needs.

Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is also needed.

DETAILS

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: Hybrid with two days a week in our Eastleigh, Hampshire Head Office – requirement for Tuesday in the office

Working pattern: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, flexible

We are now recruiting for an Interim Assistant Director of HR Operations for an initial contract period of 9 months. Working directly with the Director of People and Culture and our senior team, you will provide leadership within the team and across the society to ensure the delivery of our People & Culture plan.

As a key senior member of our Senior Leadership Group, we need you to bring inspiration, direction and innovation, providing experience and service to all levels across the organisation. Due to significant losses during the Covid pandemic, a Club appeal for donations was launched in 2020. The Friends of the RAF Club was established in 2021 to recognize these generous Members, many of whom have maintained their donations which have subsequently funded key refurbishment projects in the Club. Support of The Friends contributes significantly to the Club’s financial recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Fundraising will be expected to deliver in 3 key areas:

DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEMBERSHIP GIVING JOURNEY

• Enhance the Friends Scheme through life giving and particularly ending with the Legacy commitment:
• Review and manage the fundraising strategy
• Retain, recruit and steward the Friends of the RAF Club
• Devise and implement a legacy strategy
• Devise and implement a series of engagement and stewardship events for the Friends of the RAF Club

CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS

• Deliver the funding to help pay for capital projects within the Club:
• In liaison with the House Committee, devise and manage the 2025 appeal campaign to fund the refurbishment of The Running Horse Tavern (the Club’s onsite ‘pub’)

DELIVERY OF ASSOCIATED ADMINISTRATION

• In compliance with the Fundraising Code, GDPR and all other associated regulations:
• Run Friends and Legacy schemes
• Timely and appropriate communication and follow-up with all relevant parties (accepting this is a part-time role)
• Event delivery for Friends events
• Manage the systems and processes to track, administer and report on donations received
• Prepare and produce fundraising marketing collateral.
• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims
• Prepare all papers and minutes for the Fundraising and Legacy Committee (FR&LC), actioning all fundraising initiatives
• Prepare FR&LC reports for the Board of Trustees
• Promote and acknowledge the ‘Hive Heroes’ supporting the Club bees

• Priority 2 - Capital Project - 'Running Horse Tavern refurbishment'. Supported lead to devise and deliver fundraising from potential donors. Minimum target: £100,000 
• Priority 3 - Membership Giving Journey - Development and implementation of a membership giving journey, with particular emphasis on delivery of a Legacy Programme.
• Achieve the existing fundraising target of £120,000 in calendar year 2024.

The Director of Finance and Operations is at the heart of Severn Wye’s programmes to tackle climate change and fuel poverty. By ensuring the effective management of the charity’s finances and core services you will guarantee all our programmes grow and have real impact. 

The Director of Finance & Operations is responsible for the good financial management and smooth operations of Severn Wye. In turn ensuring Severn Wye projects and programmes are as effective and efficient as they can be in tackling Climate Change and Fuel poverty through the energy system. Responsibilities include finance management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting to the board of trustees, producing annual accounts, liaison with auditors and acting in the role of Company Secretary. The role manages a staff team responsible for HR, Health and Safety, GDPR, office management and legal compliance.

The role reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the executive team, sharing collective responsibility to deliver Severn Wye’s work and plan for its future.

The successful candidate will have substantial management and financial experience, with relevant accountancy qualifications, preferably with a proven track record in the charity sector.

• Organisational development and management:

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

We are looking for someone with 

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant, ACA, CCAB or CIMA;

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with an ability to communicate and translate complex financial matters to non-financial staff and stakeholders 

Desirable skills and experience include 

• Understanding of charity accounting, VAT, the charity SORP, the Charities Act, tax, payroll, National Insurance and pensions legislation
• Understanding of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls
• Sound knowledge of regulation and legislation affecting charities including H&S, Safeguarding, GDPR.

Severn Wye Energy Agency is a charity working in Wales and England with a vision to live in a stable climate with energy for all.

The role 

We are seeking a Director of Business and Income Generation to join the team at an exciting and ambitious time for the hospice.

You will be a vital member of the St Richard’s Hospice Executive Team to lead the teams that generate our income and build and develop relationships across supporters, donors, fundraisers, customers, employees and volunteers.

You will develop, shape and deliver the Income Generation strategy to ensure:

· we grow sustainable income streams to underpin our services

· the people in Worcestershire know how they can offer their support to St Richard’s, helping us to ensure our care and support reaches more people in the future and is sustainable.

This role is perfect for a leader who is keen to advance their professional career whilst leading the development of our highly valued income generation functions. This is a challenging but exciting time to be joining St Richard’s.

About You

The successful applicant will be a confident and natural leader who can communicate a compelling future direction for the Income Generation teams and has the ability to build strong relationships and motivate others to go the extra mile.

You will have extensive demonstrable experience in income generation, fundraising, retail, marketing, business development, or related roles, with a proven track record of achieving income targets in a not-for-profit or healthcare environment.

In addition you will have experience of working as part of a Senior Leadership / Executive Management Team responsible for operational delivery and financial sustainability.

The Gap Wales works to fill the gap between key needs in our community and current public services. The majority of our work is with asylum seekers and refugees. We work with them to help improve their well-being, advocate to meet essential needs and work in partnership with other local services.

The role

Knowledge and experience
We are looking for candidates with demonstrable strategic financial leadership spanning organisational planning, budgeting, risk, and reporting. You will have:
• A recognised financial qualification. Excellent knowledge of charity financial management, procurement and contracting at a senior level is ideal but not essential.
• Experience of effective budget setting and implementing controls and processes to manage and monitoring budgets.
• Advanced understanding of risk management.
• Experience of improving policies and processes in comparable organisations.
• Success in delivering increased cost effectiveness.
• Evidence of building financial impact and performance metrics and reporting.

Here at The Queen’s Reading Room we are seeking a talented and experienced Operations Director to report directly to our CEO. As Operations Director, you will have strategic oversight of The Queen’s Reading Room’s core operations, act as the charity’s second-in-command and lead our team to be efficient, productive, and effective. The ideal candidate has proven experience of managing a team in a finance, events, operations or development role, and is comfortable in translating strategy into actionable strength for our charity’s growth.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse internal operations and identify growth opportunities for the charity, such as partnerships and venues for events

• Oversee financial planning and evaluations, including budgeting and leading the charity’s annual accounts and audit for the Charity Commission 

• Oversee daily operations of the charity, including Finance, Fundraising, Marketing and Content Production, leading our team to encourage maximum performance

• Helping our Events strategy to strong profitability 

• Keeping an eye on all governance issues, such as policies to implement and update

• Preparing board reports

These cover the central duties of the role, but as we’re a small team the person in this role can also expect to work across many aspects of the charity, including: the creative vision for the charity; helping to design and manage events; helping to devise and manage neuroscience research projects; helping to devise and manage our grassroots strategy to increase the number of people reading in the UK and internationally; helping to devise the creation around national reading campaigns and helping to devise strategy around our content across our social media, website and podcast. 

The goal of the Operations Director position is to secure the functionality of the charity, to drive extensive and long-lasting growth, and to manage our small, dedicated team in their operations. The person joining now will have a direct influence on the long-term direction and legacy of the charity and it’s key that they find that prospect exciting and energising.
