Sarcoma UK are an incredible charity that funds vital research into sarcoma treatment, and offers support to anyone affected by sarcoma cancer. The Senior Challenge Events Officer will work directly with the Director of Fundraising to support on Sarcoma UK’s fundraising strategy, by delivering and developing their portfolio of UK and international challenge events.
As part of the role, you’ll be responsible for stewarding supporters taking part in events such as the London Marathon, the New York Marathon and the Royal Parks Half Marathon. You’ll also be responsible for organising the event day experience, such as cheer stations and post-race receptions, as a further opportunity to support and engage with supporters.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience in managing challenge or mass participation events, in particular the London Marathon.
- Experience in engaging with and delivering stewardship journeys to supporters.
- Good attention to detail, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
Salary: £35,000-£37,000

About You:
Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. With your good organisational and time management skills you’ll be able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
You will have knowledge of usability testing, user research methods and conversion rate optimisation as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.
About The Role
- Manage the delivery of all Retention campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes
- Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
- Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure
- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop retention. To gather information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters

We are excited to be seeking a talented and motivated individual to join Southampton Hospitals Charity as our Head of Grants and Programmes. This will be our first Head of Grants and Programme role and will provide the right candidate with a rare opportunity to implement and oversee the delivery of the Charity’s new £2.5 million dedicated grant programmes from pre to post award.

Despite costing £12,000 a day to run the hospice and £4m a year, all of the services are entirely free of charge to patients and their families. We are looking for an experienced Individual Giving Fundraiser to join the fundraising team at this fabulous hospice.
The Role
As Individual Giving Fundraiser you will be responsible for planning and executing appropriate in-memory, legacy and general mailed appeals & marketing campaigns. Duties will include:
- Building a plan to promote in-mem & celebration fundraising
- Working collaboratively with the Fundraising and Marketing Teams delivering campaigns and communications across all channels to maximise income streams
- Managing legacy administration, building and stewarding strong, mutually beneficial relationships with solicitors, will writers, spiritual leaders and funeral directors
- Actively contributing to the development of the Income Generation Business Plan and budgets
- Working with Local Hospice Lottery (liaising with 3rd party provider) to increase the number of venues & players
The Person
To be successful in this extremely exciting role we are looking for an experienced and personable fundraiser. You will possess excellent writing and communication skills, along with experience of using a customer relationship management database and knowledge of fundraising CRM.
Experience of creating engaging appeals with budgets and on time is desirable as is experience line managing or supervising staff or volunteers. You will be willing and able to independently travel to external meetings and events and have the ability to show empathy with good emotional intelligence. Maintaining a positive professional approach when representing the Hospice will be essential at all times.

As Finance Officer, you’ll support the Branch Finance function and branch treasurers, in particular leading the annual Central Charity contribution (‘New Branch Contribution’/NBC) process with affiliate branches and handling administrative tasks on branch banking.

The Role
We have 201 branches across the UK and Ireland. The core of this role involves coordinating the annual Central Charity contribution process, reviewing NBC calculations, co-ordinating invoicing and receipts, and escalating NBC queries, with total NBCs amounting to £0.7m-£1.3m a year.
