This is a new role giving you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker and as a practical fundraiser. You will hit the ground running and come with strong ideas and skills to implement them.
As head of fundraising you will work closely with the CEO to grow charitable income and philanthropic support from governments, individuals, trusts and foundations, corporate companies and other areas. You will help her drive the charity's work forward and work closely with our project teams and see the direct impact of your efforts.
You will have developed your portfolio of fundraising skills over time within charities that work for social good and can demonstrate experiene in securing fundraising income particularly in securing five and six figure grants/donations. Experience of securing statutory funding will be essential. You will have experience of line managing junior fundraising staff and will be keen to develop your managerial responsibility.
You will be a confident and capable leader who will work with colleagues towards supporting an annual programme of circa £3m. This role is crucial to building the charity's long-term sustainability, with a focus on exploring innovative opportunities.

About the Role
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is responding to the largest emergency in our 40-year history. Over the last year support for our cause has seen significant growth in income as tens of thousands of supporters have joined MAP. Our challenge now is to retain this interest and ensure we sustain income as we respond to the ongoing emergency and the longer-term health of Palestinians over the coming years. The Head of Fundraising Operations will enable fundraising operations to keep pace with the growth in income, futureproofing systems to ensure effective co-ordination and organisation to underpin fundraising activity, as well as delivering on an incredible supporter experience. With a new CRM in place, the role will design and implement a range of systems/processes, maximising the capabilities of the database. Duties and key responsibilities
Leadership, Strategy and Planning
- Build and inspire a high-performing, results-oriented team focused on delivering fundraising operations and supporter stewardship
- Lead the development of the data and supporter services strategy
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of efficient fundraising operations, including MS Dynamics processes, finance and activity reporting and making sure that the Fundraising Team have easy access to accurate information at all times.

- Ensure all our fundraising operations remain compliant, following guidance from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Information Commissioner’s Office (Data Protection) and the Fundraising Regulator, as well as embedding best practice.
- Establish and maintain effective systems for donor and prospect pipeline management and provide regular management reports to the Fundraising Heads to enable them to assess fundraising progress, reallocate resources and ensure we meet our income and activity targets.

Teenage Cancer Trust fund specialist nurses, youth workers and hospital units within the NHS. They're here for anyone diagnosed with cancer aged 13-24, and their loved ones too, to ensure there's someone in their corner right from the start.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Leadership & Vision
- Provide inspirational leadership, galvanising support for a compelling strategic direction, agreeing clear milestones for delivery and ensuring consistent measurement and evaluation of our impact

Strategy & Organisational Development

Fundraising, Business Development & Partnerships
- Responsible for strategic oversight of fundraising at MIH, providing support and guidance to the Head of Fundraising and Community Partnerships Manager to build a sustainable portfolio of individual, corporate and grants trusts and donations, as well as owned income streams, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
- Develop income generating strategies and set, agree and track against clear targets with the Board
- Generate fundraising leads and cultivate fundraising opportunities with high-value donors
- Actively build MIH’s profile whilst maintaining and cultivating strategic relationships with supporters, donors, businesses and corporate bodies aligned with MIH’s values and mission
- Proactively seek out entrepreneurial opportunities to capitalise on the rise of veganism and growth of the plant-based food market; developing an innovative strategy to ensure MIH becomes a leading voice within the plant-based food sector.
Financial & Governance
- Accountable to the MIH Board of Trustees for the overall financial health of the charity, you will ensure that the charity’s financial resources are managed effectively, risks identified proactively and mitigating actions taken appropriately.
- To support the Trustees in all areas of their governance and legal responsibilities in line with Charity Commission requirements and other relevant regulatory bodies.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Director of Marketing and Fundraising to join the team. As Director of Marketing and Fundraising, you will be spearheading the charity’s income generation and brand visibility. The postholder will also drive income through zakat and non-zakat funds, diversify revenue streams and grow the organisations presence in the community. This is a full-time, permanent role with flexible working options available however candidates are required to travel to the office in London for occasional meetings.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have an understanding of strategic marketing and communication and will have a minimum of four-year’s experience in a similar role. Extensive experience in developing and implementing creative marketing strategies and experience of planning and overseeing targeted campaigns across a range of platforms is essential for the role. You will have demonstratable knowledge of the UK Muslim community and a strong understanding of community engagement for purposes of fundraising and volunteer engagement. Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate data to inform management decisions is also essential for the role.

Mission of the role
Support the overall income generation of the organisation through developing three income streams: mentor programme sales, grants from trusts and foundations and corporate donations.
Structure and remuneration

This role is an income generation role with a focus on corporate giving, grants from trusts and foundations and sales from our mentoring programme.
Role Responsibilities
Corporate Giving

Identify and research potential corporate social responsibility (CSR) partners aligned with the organisation's mission.

Support Founding Director to develop relationships with corporate partners to secure funding

Create compelling partnership proposals, including staff volunteering opportunities, to prospective corporate partners, ensuring that volunteering opportunities within corporate partnerships are supporting the impact of our programmes

Maintain and nurture relationships with partners, ensuring mutual benefits and long-term collaboration.
Trusts and foundations

Identify and research grant opportunities from foundations, local councils, and other funding bodies.

Write and submit high-quality grant applications, including all required documentation and follow-up reports.

Maintain a grants calendar to track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.

Sales from Mentoring Programme
