Main tasks:

Strategic

• Responsibility for overseeing and delivering on specific action plans / areas within plans related to business growth and development and monitoring / reporting on progress.

Financial

• To diversify Pyramid’s revenue streams, with a focus on building unrestricted income.

Administrative

• To coordinate the fundraising workload of staff by developing, maintaining, and monitoring the fundraising pipeline and timelines for all sources of income.

• To monitor and report on public engagement with fundraising campaigns and strategies.

Operational

• To make arrangements for and at fundraising events, exhibitions, and functions.

• To attend and contribute to the regular meetings of staff, trustees, and sub-committees as needed.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the National Leadership Team representative for national events, you will manage the events team to deliver excellent service and event support for all New Wine events. This exciting role involves overseeing all aspects of event production, from content development to logistics and delegate management. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the strategic vision and goals of the events are realised, delivering an outstanding experience for global audiences. 

The Events Team exists to support New Wine delegates, volunteers, and staff with the initial planning, coordination, and delivery of all New Wine events held throughout the year. This includes two annual national events, the New Wine Festival and the New Wine Leadership Conference, as well as a number of smaller events such as the Reset Women’s Conference, Worship Nights, and Network Days. 

Areas of Responsibility:

Event Team Leadership: 

• Line manage, train, and develop the events team, which consists of 5 individuals (one vacant), 3 of whom are direct reports. 

• Motivate the team, communicating effectively and building relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders and partners. 

• Set appropriate goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), managing them effectively to drive activity and performance. 

• Join the core team in regular meetings, updating and chairing event specific discussions.  

• Coordinating with other departments to rethink processes and strategy. 
   

Event Planning: 

• Manage and oversee the New Wine events calendar to ensure that events are planned in a coordinated manner.

• Liaise with specific event leadership teams to determine the vision, goals, and requirements for each New Wine event. 

• Set up and chair event planning meetings for national events, monitoring that planning is on schedule and within budget. 

• Support Event Managers in the planning and delivery of smaller events. 

• Manage external consultants and professionals who support with delivery of events including Production Project Manager and Technical Production Manager. 
   

Event Delivery: 

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. 

• Oversee the production, delegate and team experience on-site at any New Wine event. This includes managing the Production Project manager, front desk service team and back-office functions such as ticketing, accommodation, village allocation, telephone and email response, and volunteer team leader oversight and engagement.

We are looking to grow the capacity of our church leadership to support church growth, as we both develop our base within the new Osney Mead Innovation Quarter and expand our activities across the city.

We see Operations as a key ministry in the life of the church. This is a key role in our church life and requires a vibrant Christian faith and a passion for our church’s mission. It also demands strong people skills and the ability to ensure strategies and plans are executed in a timely and thorough manner.

Key relationships

Your primary team will be our church Core Team. You will work each week with Steve and Bev Jones, other pastors in the church and the Admin Team.

You will also work closely with the board of The Kings Centre Ltd, Trustees, our charity’s Operations Director and a range of volunteers in the local church.

Specific duties

Development

1. Implement systems to support and sustain excellent volunteer service

2. Osney Mead project: liaise with consultants and key stakeholders, establish project brief; project manage development of a business plan

Governance

3. Report to governance teams within the charity: producing reports on risk management, statutory and policy compliance

4. Chair the board of The King’s Centre Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of our charity)

5. Manage church finances: setting a growth budget, controlling spend, generating income, ensuring routine tasks are done effectively

CSE are looking for an Intern to support the teams project development and fundraising activities. Providing support to colleagues in the development team, in the delivery of an effective and successful function of prospect research, project development, fundraising and bid writing. The Intern will also provide administrative support to the development team in the day-to-day maintenance of our systems i.e. tracking new opportunities, updating our contacts database and project staff CVs.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) 9 Months. 
• The salary for the Development Intern post will be £23,850.
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• To undertake desk-based research (e.g. into funders or subject matter relating to bids) and assist colleagues in producing content for and compiling proposals, tenders and funding pitches.
• To make daily checks of contract finder and other funding portals, sharing relevant opportunities promptly with colleagues to assist quick decision making.
• To maintain CSE’s contacts databases – updating records and undertaking occasional systematic reviews.
• To interact with and update CSE’s development systems e.g. the development database (when bids are submitted or decisions are made), staff CVs, project descriptions etc.
• To write content that supports the development teams activities (short project summaries, staff CVs etc).
• To provide administrative support for wider development and fundraising activities such as coordinating meetings and events.
• To work closely with other staff within the development team to ensure effective workload planning, project development and delivery.

The key purpose of this role is to support the organisation by providing financial processes, information and strategies that contribute to the overall aims of the HTB Group and to ensure good stewardship of financial resources.
To ensure that the Finance functions, financial reporting and financial strategies support and contribute to the overall aims and success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Will contribute fully to the day to day operation of their team or area, with flexibility and without the need for close supervision
• Using a good degree of proficiency and well - established professional knowledge, will analyse and help to find solutions to challenges and issues that arise
• Support the Alpha Financial Controller in running the reporting and reconciliation systems of Alpha
• Complete monthly reconciliations (such as accruals and prepayments), as directed by the Alpha Financial Controller or with the Processing Team, if the need arises.
• Work with Accounting Processing Team on their monthly reconciliations, providing support on purchase and sales ledger
• Review the twice-monthly purchase ledger payments and monthly payroll for Alpha providing first-time compliance and accuracy checks.
• Review the monthly credit card payments for Alpha to make sure compliance with the expense policy and accuracy checks.
• Take responsibility with the Alpha Financial Controller for ensuring strong financial controls, good governance, and statutory compliance
• Assist the Alpha Finance Director and Financial Controller with projects on an ad-hoc basis.
• Detailed monthly bank reconciliation for Alpha with queries sent to responsible person for posting.
• Assist the Alpha Risk and Governance Team with Due diligence on grants outward –ensuring these are recorded completely and accurately; and that due diligence requirements are followed up, assessed, and filed
• Take responsibility for detailed analysis and reconciliation of all regional expenditure and income analysis
• Monthly Intercompany reconciliations and follow up
• Supporting the development of financial awareness across the charity and its operations at all levels of management and administration
• Review/approval of new suppliers on Dimensions (including checking and entering supplier bank details in Dimensions and Stonex)
• Assistance with Monthly Management accounts (forecasting, liaison with departments/regions etc)
• Involvement in the annual budget process (e.g. arranging meetings & checking templates to budget steer)
• Involvement in the yearend accounts preparation and Audit (Fixed Asset register, other schedules, providing samples and explanations to auditors)
• Responsible for preparing and submitting quarterly HTBG VAT returns
• First line of support for Alpha budget holders when they have questions about codes/payments etc.
• Work closely with the Alpha Fund development team to update them on financial information for donor proposals.
Other:
• Take occasional lead in Finance Team prayer sessions.
• Helping with cash collections and counts on Gift Days, LC and Focus

• Qualified/Part Qualified or qualifying accountant (ACCA/CIMA)

This is a senior role within our People & Organisational Development directorate. Reporting to the Associate Director, People Operations you will play a key role in supporting Marie Curie's 5-year strategy by enabling employees to focus their time on patients and services by implementing efficient, prompt, automated and human-focused processes across data, systems, administration, payroll and audit.
 

Your Role:

• Overall Direction and Development: Leading the payroll team, you will ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing.
• Strategic Planning: You will have the opportunity to develop and execute payroll strategies to align with organisational goals.
• Compliance: You will ensure adherence to all payroll-related financial, legal and corporate compliance requirements.
• Leading and driving improvement. You will understand organisational impacts and create and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.

Additional Criteria for Success:

• Proven track record in payroll management, preferably in a large and complex organisation (e.g. commercial, audited environments private or public sector). This should include operational management of service delivery to a diverse customer base.
• Strong payroll legislation knowledge.Including payroll laws and regulations, tax compliance, pensions, statutory payments and employment law. Associated audit and risk experience is a must.
• Payroll systems expertise. Highly proficient with payroll software (Oracle and/or Zellis is highly desirable). Advanced Excel is additionally required.
• Demonstrable experience managing and developing a team, with strong performance management and coaching/development skills.
• Project management experience. Proven achievements in leading payroll-related projects, such as systems implementations or process improvements.
• Strong ability to identify, assess and solve payroll-related issues with a proactive and strategic approach.
• Results oriented with a positive outlook, high level of motivation, enthusiasm and dedication to the mission and goals of Marie Curie.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 pa dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
Location: Home-based within the UK, with ad-hoc travel to London and Birmingham required.
