ABOUT THE ROLE
Hours of work: 15 hours per week flexibly (including evenings/weekends to meet new volunteers)
Salary: £26,280.80 per annum, pro rata (£10,512.32 for 15 hours)
Place of work: The Ark Workshop, Lockerby Road, Liverpool
Contract type: 1 year fixed term contract due to funding

Main purpose of the role:
The Volunteer Facilitator will provide effective coordination, administration and support to volunteers including recruitment and orientation. You will link with local groups and volunteer networks to promote opportunities within L'Arche. The Volunteer Facilitator will be creative in the identification and development of roles that use volunteers' skills to bring friendship and other benefits to the Community.
Key essential criteria
- Knowledge of social care organisations, the third sector and issues facing adults with learning disabilities;
- Experience of volunteering (ideally within the social car sector) and volunteer management or HR or coaching;
- Experience of maintaining databases: accurately recording information, reporting and identifying errors in data;
- Competent in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint);
- Supportive and enthusiastic about working with an organisation which is both a high quality service provider and an ecumenical Christian community open to people of all faiths and none;
- Self-motivated and ability to manage own workload on a daily basis and be accountable for the delivery of own workload;
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS record check;

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.
We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities. As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.
We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies toprotect women’s and girl’s rights.

About you
We are looking for a confident, established professional with extensive knowledge and networks across housing in Scotland, who is comfortable navigating faith spaces. You will be a project manager who is happy working independently and remotely, while achieving high quality deliverables.
About the role
We have recently received funding to explore expansion into Scotland for the Faith in Affordable Housing project. This will be a 15-month project with potential to expand, subject to funding.
The proposed project is to undertake a scoping exercise across Scotland, to ascertain the need for social and affordable housing, and the key stakeholders providing housing, as well as the potential presented by faith organisation-owned assets to meet housing need. The resulting feasibility study and business plan will then inform the potential next steps for Faith in Affordable Housing Scotland.

Role 1: Specialist Support Worker (4 days per week, Monday - Thursday)
Role 2: Specialsit Support Worker for Global Social Club (4 days per week, Monday - Thursday, including 1-8.30pm on Mon for GSC)
The Specialist Support Worker provides holistic and trauma-informed casework, advice and support to young people aged 14 to 25 years, working closely with the community, statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer term needs of young people are met.
Our 1:1 work focuses on supporting young people to be well and to be heard. This role offers vital support to young people through individual sessions and advocacy around their wellbeing and rights.
