Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.
Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to lead our finance and operations functions and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to implement management systems to efficiently run the business and achieve strategic objectives agreed by Global Black Thrive Board of Directors. This includes governance, finance, human resources, IT, legal, health and safety, and facilities management.
This role is strategic as well as multi-faceted and hands-on and will work collaboratively as part of Global Black Thrive’s Senior Leadership Team to

Develop robust approaches to finance and operations and provide practical support for Black Thrive teams to manage their programmes and projects; and

Duties and responsibilities
- Support the CEO to manage the organisation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including finance, HR, health and safety, data protection, and deadlines for annual returns to Companies House, the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies, and HMRC.
- Put in place governance and management systems to support the efficient operation of the business, and the achievement of strategic objectives and milestones agreed by the Global Black Thrive Board of Directors.
- Support in the development of Black Thrive’s internal Learning and development infrastructure, particularly with the Learning Week.
- Lead on strategic reviews of organisational policies and procedures and work with the CEO and colleagues to review, update and operationalise policies and procedures.
- Line manage Finance Officer and lead finance functions, including working with managers to prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring that there are appropriate financial controls and operational arrangements in place (including for outgoing and incoming invoices and grants), liaising with external accounting and payroll providers and training staff as required.
- Line mange the HR and Admin Manager and support with updating policies, rolling out strategic changes and communicating these companywide.
- Provide timely and accurate strategic financial management information to enable the Board of Directors, CEO and managers to have effective oversight and make strategic short-term and long-term decisions.
- Work with others in the organisation and support the Fundraising Strategy. This will also include strategies for creating our own independent funds that are not linked to an external funder.
- Support the CEO to fulfil their role as Designated Lead Officer for safeguarding, including updating the safeguarding policy, ensuring that it is given effect and maintaining a robust system of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and training for staff, associates, consultants and volunteers.

We are looking for a Commercial Senior Manager / Associate Director to drive the next phase of the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS). The NILS pilot has already lent over £10 million to more than 13,000 financially vulnerable people, demonstrating the positive impact of affordable credit. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multi-million-pound programme through its final stages and oversee its strategic scaling for long-term sustainability.
The scheme is currently funded by HM Treasury, JP Morgan, and Fair4All Finance. We are looking for an experienced senior lead with a background in both commercial delivery and business case development, fluent in working with the public sector, mainstream finance, and civil society to oversee the final stages of the pilot delivery and to take charge of scaling up NILS.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) Programme: Oversee the final delivery phase of the NILS pilot, with the Programme Delivery Manager

Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have excellent relationship management skills and be comfortable articulating the vision and mission of the charity to prospective donors (high net worths, business owners and leaders). You will have gravitas and be able to represent the charity at functions, networking events and be comfortable presenting. A passion and understanding of the charity sector and in particular, the Islamic landscape will be an advantage. Internally , you will be creative and have experience of developing and refining business and customer experience. The Community Leader (Director) leads the Community in living the mission of L’Arche in our community life, by providing outstanding, person-centred and financially sustainable care and support services, by support for shared community and spirituality, and by engagement with the wider community around us.
Are you a leader who can:
- Inspire and lead a diverse and talented community of over 100 individuals with and without learning disabilities - people we support, employees, volunteers, long-term friends and members.
- Oversee and develop £2.5 million worth of registered care, supported living, and day services, ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, alignment with the L’Arche vision and values, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Lead a team of 70 employees through strategic direction, effective processes and service delivery, and emotionally intelligent, collaborative, forward-thinking people management.
- Represent L’Arche London externally in fundraising efforts, outreach to build local partnerships, and participation in L’Arche UK leadership and governance forums.

- The L’Arche London Community includes nine supported living services, one registered care home, and two day workshops, serving 34 individuals—all located within a mile of West Norwood Station.
The Role

- Maintain and enhance high-quality, person-centred care, support, and housing for people with learning disabilities, both at home and in our day services. .

- Foster a culture that maximises the voice and power for people with learning disabilities, and builds listening and collaboration between Community members with and without learning disabilities (including through an active Community Support Group, Community Council, Community Gatherings, listening circles, and other forums).

About the role
This is an awesome role focussed on improving our ways of working and processes when it comes to those who support us. We want all of our supporters to have a first class experience when they decide to donate their time and/or money to supporting children and young people with cancer and their families. However we know that as an organisation we have more to do to make this happen and the time is now.
Working in Income Generation, this role will take a recently conducted diagnostic carried out by a business improvement consultant and not only work through the next steps but make change happen, prioritising the areas with the biggest wins. This role really will have a lasting legacy in the organisation.
We're not just looking for someone to map change, this person will lead operational design and process re-engineering that transforms the Income Generation directorate and it's workforce into high achievers.
You’ll be based within the Project Management Office (PMO), a supportive team of professionals that lead transformational change across the organisation as well as corporate planning. You’ll also have close relationship with the Head of Planning and Strategy in Income Generation as well as the Associate Director Supporter Engagement.

What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Building on the diagnostics carried out already within Income Generation directorate to optimise organisational design and scope improvements.
- Using the diagnostics to identify pain areas, develop a sequenced plan to tackle these issues and then implement the plan to improve performance, processes and services i.e. “getting hands dirty”.
- Embedding a culture of improvement in the organisation and developing these capabilities within the workforce.
- All of these activities will involve facilitating workshops, engaging audiences with tailored communications, debating and negotiating ideas with leaders, managing governance, risks and dependencies, evaluating progress etc.

- Experience of delivering transformational change by using process improvement principles & methodologies such as TQM, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma to design services and processes that deliver value, efficiency, higher quality, lower costs and better results

About the role:
You will work with our programmes in East and Southern Africa, including Angola, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, and developing projects, to support operational delivery of contractual and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will work with Programmes staff to ensure the regional portfolio is delivering high quality donor reports and proposals, as well as assisting in the development of the regional portfolio, providing support to assessments to new country locations, and identifying, developing and delivering cross-cutting projects in key strategic areas such as gender, conflict sensitivity and the environment. You will also support the Regional Directors and Country Directors in core programming areas, including contract delivery, incident management, disciplinary investigations, stakeholder management and communication. About you:
You will have excellent project management, business planning and budget management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Experience of working in a senior management position in a development or humanitarian organisation is essential, and experience working in mine action sector or within the East and Southern Africa region would be advantageous. You should have a good understanding of the economic, social, and development context within the region. You will be a strong communicator over a range of mediums, with outstanding networking, influencing, and negotiation skills. You will be experienced in project delivery, including contract and legal compliance.
