About this job
We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Policy and Evidence to lead our policy, social research, and healthcare professional engagement activity to improve the lives of people affected by MS.
You'll provide leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the Policy and Evidence team has clear priorities and a proactive and impact-driven approach. Strong management and leadership skills are essential to this role.
Acting as a senior spokesperson for our policy and evidence work, you’ll need to be influential both internally and externally, including representing the MS Society at a range of external meetings with a variety of audiences.
You’ll play a crucial role championing the role of impactful evidence based decision making across the organisation and have substantial experience of supporting the development of issue-based influencing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing policy change across a broad range of issues and influencing policy makers at a UK or national level.
Please note this is a fixed term contract for 9 months starting in January 2025.

About the role

You will help shape CoppaFeel!’s approach to content so that it appeals, resonates with and converts 18 - 24 year olds across digital and social channels.
You will work alongside other Heads of Dept, bringing your expertise and knowledge to leadership discussions to help shape the future of the organisation.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.
You will report to the Marketing Director and line manage the Social Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, and you will have exposure to the Senior Management Team.
The role
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as a valued part of the CoppaFeel! leadership team to deliver the organisational strategy, shape the culture and influence cross departmental ways of working
- Develop a holistic, strategic content approach to digital and social channels (including creators and gaming) that will enhance the annual marketing strategy and drive awareness of CoppaFeel! and our mission amongst 18 - 24 year olds.
- Responsible for creating innovative content that’s insight driven and market leading.
- Put production plans and processes in place that allow us to have year round ‘always on’ organic content (web, email, social).
- Lead and inspire creativity across the organisation with a view to becoming social first in everything we do.
- Work with Digital Marketing Manager to audit CoppaFeel!’s website and third party agencies to research, plan and execute Search Engine Optimisation strategies.
- Establish standards, systems, best practices, and workflow processes for managing the content lifecycle, including requesting, producing, distributing, channel selection, measuring, and retiring content.
- Collaborate with our operations team as we adopt a new CRM database.
- Ensure all content is consistent with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Line manage the Social Media Manager and Digital Marketing Manager.
- Ownership of the digital budget and quarterly re-forecasting.
- Contribute to quarterly all staff team meetings
- Ensure rigorous reporting and analysis of social and digital activity to ensure delivery of planned KPIs, with an ambition to be constantly improving and evolving.

Design in Mental Health Network is a registered charity, which aims to improve mental health outcomes by promoting knowledge exchange, co-production involving the voice of people with Lived Experience and challenging the status quo of mental health design.
We are a network of experts whose perspectives, thoughts, insights, opinions are grounded in research, professional qualification and/or lived experience. The collective includes a wide range of stakeholders involved in planning for, designing, building, managing and using spaces that impact on our mental health.
We believe the better the design brief is in determining and matching the evidenced needs of all users, the better the goal of improving the actual design of settings to support better mental health care and patient outcomes will be.
Good design facilitates human connection (therapeutic/supportive relationships) and to this end we advocate to engage and influence people with decision making capabilities and/or budget control, to understand how to use existing resources more effectively in leading to better mental health outcomes.
We want to actively challenge the status quo, using research and our design skills to reimagine radical new ways of approaching mental health care that improve the outcomes for patients and make these spaces better places to work for the staff on the front line. The Design in Mental Health Network (DiMHN) is a charity dedicated to improving the design of mental health environments.

In this impactful role you will develop and lead the delivery of Age UK's integrated public affairs and campaigning work, with the overarching aim of creating sustainable change for older people in line with our strategy and goals. You will develop and implement effective public affairs and campaigning approaches that really hit home, and produce results.
To achieve this, you will work collaboratively with the rest of our high performing External Affairs team, other Age UK colleagues, our network of brilliant local Age UKs, and other charities and organisations that share our campaigning aims.
Leading Age UK's public affairs function, you will oversee our influencing work in Westminster and maintain our high profile. You will also have access to one of Age UK's best campaigning assets: several hundred thousand campaigners, many of them older people, who work with us to influence change.
We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include regular days working from our London office. Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the post-holder and are not covered by the charity.

About the Role:
This role is a hybrid working role and is based at our Singer Street offices, Islington, London for a minimum of one day a week and home working, subject to operational demand. As a Deputy Head of Service you will assist the Head of Service (HoS) to deliver consistently safe, high-quality support for all service users across the Service and ensure contractual targets are met. - Be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, ensuring appropriate and effective delivery of services to survivors, including, safeguarding, risk assessment, needs assessment, safety planning, referrals to other agencies and MARACs.
- Drive continuous improvement of performance through use of data and other operational information to ensure teams perform to the highest standards at all times. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic social researcher to join our fantastic Surrey Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) team.
Based with Good Company, a local anti-poverty charity, the Community Researcher role would design and conduct research on wider determinants of health (e.g., poverty, food insecurity) and their impacts on health inequalities, with a particular focus on co-production and other forms of participatory research. The wider determinants of health are a diverse range of social, economic and environmental factors which influence people’s mental and physical health. Systematic variation in these factors constitutes social inequality, an important driver of the health inequalities.
In addition, this role would seek to increase the capacity of local voluntary sector organisations to carry out their own participatory research, as well as supporting the HDRC programme team in promoting participatory research methods across Surrey and building the local evidence base on the wider determinants of health.
There will be a second Community Researcher post based with Reigate & Banstead Council which will focus on building the participatory research capacity within the local authority.

This role would form part of the new and innovative Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) programme funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR). · Strengthening the participatory and co-production research capacity across Surrey, with a particular focus on the Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.
· Actively supporting the wider Surrey HDRC team in promoting the value of participatory research and co-production across Surrey County Council and its partners and building the local evidence-base on the social and wider determinants of health.
The post holder should have demonstrable skills in qualitative research methods, including experience of conducting participatory research.
