You will lead Woman’s Trust income generation ensuring adequate income to sustain and grow the organisation, increasing its income from £1.3 Million to £3 Million in the next 3 years. While raising funds from multiple income streams, focus growths areas will be statutory and Trust and foundation funding securing six-figure, multiple-year grants and contracts. You will effectively communicate our services and campaign our aims aligned to our strategic priorities.
You will oversee the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy and the funding pipeline; ensure the maintenance and development of excellent relationships with current and new funders, stewarding grants and reporting back; review, update and develop service budgets; oversee the submission or coordination of quality bids, approaches, and events.
As a member of the senior leadership team, this post will work cross departmentally and will contribute to the overall strategy of Woman’s Trust, working closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees. You will lead and line manage the Senior Trust and Foundation Manager and Fundraising Officer. You will deliver a direct income target for each year, with a focus on the development and tendering of statutory commissioning.
Hours: 35 hours per week (28 hours will be considered).
Location: Office based with remote working available – minimum of 50% of working hours in Woman’s Trust Office, Edgware Road/Paddington, NW1.

Key responsibilities:
Communications
• Manage our social media channels and research which new channels should be set up in order to keep up to date with current social media visibility and trends
• Create compelling content for various communication channels, including website, social media, newsletters, press releases, and fundraising materials. Working with Operations Coordinator for communications to volunteers.
• Monitor and analyse communication metrics to assess effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
Fundraising
• Develop fundraising strategy, both ongoing and episodic e.g. Big Give (campaigns and initiatives) to support the charity's operational needs and long-term sustainability working with the CEO & Trustees.
• Work alongside bookkeeper and leadership team to set fundraising priorities
• Maintaining and expanding a regular giving campaign and promote it to increase individual direct debit and other digital regular giving
• Plan and organise fundraising events, charity drives, and online fundraising campaigns.
• In cooperation with the team, drive preparation of grant proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
• Scope out potential to extend our services through the launch of a Hosting Scheme
• Collaborate with internal teams, including staff and volunteers, to gather stories, testimonials, and programmatic data for communication and fundraising purposes
• Prepare regular reports on communication and fundraising activities, outcomes, and financial performance for the leadership team & trustees.
Donor Relations
• Maintain excellent relation with donors by acknowledgement, providing updates on impact, and maintaining ongoing communication.
• Create personalised donor communication materials, such as thank you letters, impact reports, and donor newsletters
• Database of donors, segment into Major donors occasional donors, regular givers etc, to ensure appropriate communication.
A successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

Role Requirements
- Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.
- Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
- Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
- Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
- Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
- Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
- Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
- Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised

The Head of Fundraising is an exciting new role developed for the Society to increase fundraising and develop additional income streams to enhance the sustainability of the Society. The Transformation Plan includes the acquisition and redevelopment of a B-listed building in central Edinburgh to co-create the most inclusive, low-carbon and heritage-rich space to work, visit and participate. This role will provide the necessary vision, leadership, and fundraising skills which will enable the Society to achieve its fundraising targets and enhance its development program.
They will be an effective fundraiser and key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision.
Initially on a 2.5-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding, the post will work as part of the senior management team and liaise directly with staff, Councillors (trustees), members (known as Fellows) and other organisations and individuals to ensure the successful delivery of their responsibilities.

Person Specification
The Head of Fundraising will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from statutory sources, foundations, trusts and major donors. Further Information
This post is an initial 2.5-year (30 month) full-time contract which will be extendible subject to funding. Development of fundraising for the Transformation Plan will be the immediate priority. A lot of work has already been undertaken by the Society in preparing for an NLHF application as part of this, but the skill and experience of this post will ensure it has the maximum chance of success. This will include liaising with others, including NLHF staff and our consultants, the More Partnership.
The tasks and role will develop in line with the requirements in that application and the implementation of the Transformation Plan and will be reviewed after the submission of the initial NLHF bid.
