The purpose of this role is to support the Digital Communications Manager in promoting, strengthening and protecting the reputation of the Academy by delivering and evaluating short- and long-term digital campaigns across key communications channels that engage and influence new and existing audiences.
You will achieve this by creating high-quality, engaging written and visual content that is on brand and optimised for different audiences and digital channels used by the Academy including social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube and Bluesky), email, and our website. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, including influential UK and international medical researchers as well as patients, carers and the public, to help shape our work.

Role Summary
The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.
Areas of responsibility
Individual Giving
- Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
- Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
- Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
- Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.
- Line manage the Individual Giving Officer, monitoring key performance indicators and objectives to ensure that targets are met.
Administration
- Oversee lists and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.
- Oversee ticket bookings and catering reservations for supporters and to innovate time-saving new processes for automating bookings and reservations.
- Ensure Membership collateral is regularly updated to deadlines.
- Ensure database records are updated with donations, research notes, Memberships and event attendance.
- Monitor progress against targets, ensuring fundraising costs stay within budgeted expenditure and Gift Aid restrictions.
- Devise and with input from the Events team maintain a system for accurately logging and tracking costs incurred for delivering Membership benefits in line with HMRC and Gift Aid guidelines.
- Ensure that all data complies with procedures for data integrity (e.g. Gift Aid, GDPR and PCI compliance).
- Oversee the processing of monthly and annual Direct Debits by the Individual Giving Officer.
- Support the administration of the American Associates of The Old Vic membership.
Prospecting and New Support
- Identify new routes, channels and audiences to promote other ways of giving amongst existing Old Vic contacts, our database and new prospects.
- Innovate and implement new fundraising projects, such as Tap to Donate scheme, and creating supporting documents (e.g. case for support and rebrand of membership scheme).
- Use data analysis to track Membership trends and prospecting, with support from the Individual Giving Officer, to inform strategy and cultivation efforts for upgrading and recruitment.
- Identify opportunities to further develop relationships with our existing supporters (e.g. cross-sell) and feeding this into strategic plans for Individual Giving.
- Support the Senior Development Operations Manager on the maintenance of a team-wide prospect tracking system and help monitor the solicitation process.
General
- To ensure The Old Vic’s programmes, website and social media are regularly updated with Development information and liaise with Marketing as appropriate in achieving these tasks.
- Contribute proactively to Development team activities.
- Undertake training deemed necessary by the Development Director.

The Royal British Legion (RBL), the leading Armed Forces charity, is looking for an experienced marketing manager to join their Fundraising directorate and lead a brilliant team to develop and implement a range of supporter acquisition marketing programmes to achieve the growth ambitions of their Fundraising strategy.
RBL holds a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of people in society. As the largest military charity in the UK and home of the extraordinary Poppy Appeal it has provided support to members of the Armed Forces community for over 100 years. Today is no different. The needs of veterans, young and old, serving personal and their families are growing and complex. To support them the charity needs to raise awareness and donations.
The Supporter Acquisition team at RBL is responsible for all marketing to attract new supporters across a large portfolio of appeals/products and media. The charity is seeking a team leader who has significant expertise with a wide range of marketing channels and can really add value to large well-established programmes with their experience, knowledge and drive to continually improve, identify appropriate new opportunities and shape supporter acquisition programmes.
The role involves leading an experienced team of two managers and two co-ordinators, and leading relationships with key suppliers. The marketing programmes include most significantly face-to-face fundraising (from stands in retail space or expos/outdoor events and door-to-door) and DRTV advertising, plus some print campaigns, payroll giving and 3rd party marketing. The role will also manage development projects that could include aspects of digital fundraising. An important part of the role is developing advertising for the nation’s largest charity appeal, the Poppy Appeal each November.
RBL introduced a new fundraising strategy last year called ‘Three Giants’ to focus on protecting and strengthening three vital areas of income generation, the Poppy Appeal, individual giving and gifts in wills. As an experienced senior marketing manager, you would hit the ground running to optimally deliver plans with your team, whilst helping to shape programme strategies and review supply requirements. You will need experience of managing and coaching teams and working in a truly collaborative way with colleagues, teams and suppliers, leading by example in accordance with RBL’s values.
You won’t shy away from complexity and getting to grips with the details of the broad array of appeals/products your team will be marketing and associated systems, budgeting, reporting and KPI measurements for each of them. You’ll strive for excellence, ensuring campaigns are compelling and effective and will be able to capably resolve issues at a senior level and take on new challenges.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will focus on increasing donations from individual supporters. Working closely with the Head of Development and CEO, you'll be responsible for growing donation schemes for individual supporters, stewarding major donors, delivering public fundraising appeals and promoting opportunities for supporters to make gifts in wills.
We look to recruit a candidate excited to take responsibility for their own area of work as part of a small team. We will consider strong applicants with previous experience in fundraising / development or transferable skills and knowledge from customer-facing roles in other sectors.
This is a full time permanent position with a minimum of 3 days based on site. We are open to flexible working arrangements including part time working and compressed hours.

Key duties
- Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of individual supporters
- Plan and deliver a year-round programme of supporter events encouraging donors to engage with our work
- Implement supporter stewardship systems with the aim of retaining and increasing support
- Assist with the planning and delivery of annual individual giving campaigns
- Process and acknowledge donations and Gift Aid claims on CRM system (Spektrix)
- Support with researching and drafting briefing documents for prospect and supporter meetings
- Develop strong internal relationships to help promote the work of the Development team
- Represent the organisation at fundraising sector events
Essential
- Experience of organising events to engage or steward supporters, clients or customers
- Proven track record of successfully managing a portfolio of supporter relationships or customer accounts
- Experience of delivereing supporter or customer journeys leading to increased support and engagement
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to analyse customer feedback
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

The Individual Giving and Legacies Manager role sits within the charity’s Public Fundraising team, which as well as Individual Giving, Legacies and In-Memory Fundraising, includes Events and Community Fundraising.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in Cure Parkinson’s continued ambitious growth. Joining us at an exciting time for the charity, you would be part of a small but dynamic team with the opportunity to develop and make your own mark.
You will lead the growth of our Individual Giving programme, bringing new donors on board across traditional and digital streams. You will be responsible for the retention and reactivation of supporters, maximising their lifetime value; ensuring the best possible supporter experience and delivering annual net income growth in individual giving.
You will also lead our small legacy programme, which has huge ambition for growth; maximising the opportunities available to encourage new and current supporters to leave a gift in their Will. You will be responsible for any legacy administration, working alongside internal and external parties to ensure that all estates are correctly administered, and that we realise the full value of the legacies left to Cure Parkinson’s.
You will be working with supporters to answer their questions about legacy and in-memory giving, and working with the next of kin to ensure that their loved one's legacy is cherished.
We are looking for a creative thinker that has enthusiasm and motivation to lead these areas of work. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as being a collaborative team member. You will be supported by the Head of Public Fundraising to achieve transformational results across Individual Giving and Legacies. And ultimately you will be contributing towards changing the future for people living with Parkinson’s across the world.
