Job Title: Global Communications Officer

Part 1: Role Purpose:
Street Child is looking for a dynamic, confident individual with a passion for communications and a drive to make a difference.
We need a Global Communications Officer who is adaptable, personable, has an attention to detail and is ready to tackle any task with gusto. We are looking for someone who can drive forward our owned channel development, grow our website traffic and social media channels whilst maintaining strong platform engagement rates to generate fundraising.
Our ideal candidate will also create fresh campaigns with market cut through, develop clear, creative collateral, support our growing global advocacy efforts and identify opportunities for telling stories from Street Child’s programmes around the world. An eye for design and some basic editing skills is a bonus.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
1. Social channel content creation, maintenance and development
- Lead on the development and maintenance of the Street Child social channels, pushing forward our social strategy with a relentless focus on growth and engagement. Develop, create, and manage engaging content for our social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok), including identifying strategies for viral and timely content.
- Craft compelling copy and visuals that align with our brand voice and promote Street Child programmes around the world.
- Identify and leverage emerging trends and opportunities for Street Child’s social media presence.
2. Day-to-day website content updates & maintenance
- Lead on the day-to-day content updates and maintenance of the Street Child website, working to a turnaround time of 48 hours for business-as-usual activity.
- Work with external web developers to ensure Street Child’s website is optimised for raising awareness of our work, engaging supporters and raising funds.
- Develop high-quality written and visual content optimised for web, including managing our blog to ensure a steady output of content on Street Child programme areas, including primary education work, education in emergencies, and humanitarian programmes.
3. Communications resource for global fundraising teams
- Support the strategic development and communications needs of European and North American entities, ensuring a strong cohesive global voice for Street Child.
- Support global fundraising teams on all communication resource needs, including but not limited to event publicity/promotion, key appeal content and community resource generation.
- Support the creation of content/collateral for fundraising teams.
- Support the development of corporate communications, including but not limited to the design of impact reports, event promotion and publicity.
- Work with colleagues in other fundraising teams to establish communication calendars and plan for their respective areas of work, identifying communication needs and deadlines ahead of time.
4. Global advocacy communications support
- Support the delivery of global advocacy events, such as UNGA and World Economic Forum.
- Support corporate communications strategies around global advocacy events, such as UNGA and World Economic Forum.
- Craft compelling advocacy messages for Street Child-owned channels, working closely with our global programmes experts to position the organisation as though-leaders in the global education sector.
5. Wider MMC support
- Support the delivery of key content and assets for media.
- Support the contracting of in-country photographers and videographers.
- Support the individual giving donor mapping and communications development, helping to deepen and develop our donor relationships and increase unrestricted fundraising.
- Able to represent Street Child appropriately both internally and externally.
- Carry out all reasonable requests that are within the broad remit of the role.
- Support the delivery of the Annual Report.

About you
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Manager to be responsible for the marketing and external communication of all RHN services and charitable activity. This is a specialist marketing and communications role and your primary focus will be on developing and running marketing campaigns, producing promotional materials and identifying opportunities for growth. Specifically, the RHN wishes to increase growth and income through marketing to commissioners, referrers, families, clinical networks, partners, funders and all external media to maximise the impact of targeted marketing campaigns. With outstanding interpersonal and writing skills, we are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience of working in a marketing communications role and implementing effective marketing campaigns across a range of channels, ideally within a complex organisation or healthcare setting. Candidates must have experience of developing creative and innovative marketing and communications campaigns as well as have the ability to manage conflicting priorities and effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent problem solving skills are also essential along with strong organisational and planning skills, as well as experience of budget management.

About The Role:
The successful candidate will support the Community and Challenge Event Manager to find ways to increase engagement and bring fresh ideas to the team and steward fundraisers. This role will be responsible for maximising the value of fundraisers by helping to develop and deliver their supporter journey with MQ, whilst supporting the wider marketing team with producing content including blogs and social media.

Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities
Key Activities:
- Support the delivery of the internal communications and engagement strategy
- Coordinate the day-to-day requirements of the organisation's SharePoint:-
- Content – publish content that aligns with publishing standards
- Governance – manage the approval, review, and retention process to ensure information is user-centred, clear, and up to date
- Web design – support standards of UI/UX, accessibility and search optimisation
- Technical support – develop and deliver SharePoint solutions by working with colleagues in the IT department and testing with users
- Continuous improvement – use analytics, user feedback and Microsoft updates to progress the intranet roadmap
- Support the implementation and management of new employee channels such as Viva Engage and other applications in the Microsoft Viva suite
- Community management – proactively guide community managers to maintain healthy and compliant platforms

About You:
Education Knowledge and Experience (essential):
- Qualification in a relevant subject, or the equivalent experience in a similar role.
- 3+ years' experience in a communication, marketing, digital, or technology role.
- Experience managing digital channels, e.g. intranets/websites/social media.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.

About the role:
The Communications Officer will work across all channels to raise the profile of Blagrave and its partners and the work they do. Key responsibilities
Social media
- Maintain Blagrave’s social media accounts, and work with the wider team to ensure a regular social media presence for Blagrave.
- Research, create, and publish content for Blagrave’s social media platforms. This includes writing, getting approval and scheduling content, and creating appropriate imagery that is engaging and aligned to Blagrave’s style guide.
- Proactively monitor our social media channels, responding as relevant.
- Monitor social media outputs of other charitable foundations and youth organisations to inspire and inform Blagrave’s communications output.
- Strengthen Blagrave’s digital output/presence and reach by tracking analytics via monthly reporting on social media performance, making recommendations of how we can engage with audiences more effectively
Website
- Regularly update and maintain the organisation’s website, liaising with colleagues to ensure all content is current and relevant.
- Publish regular blog posts and vacancies, when required.
Wider comms
- Liaise with colleagues in other teams to understand and support them in their comms needs, implementing internal / external comms initiatives as required.
- Design, draft and circulate internal and external comms outputs and suggest new ways to communicate our messages to our audiences.
- Be a guardian of Blagrave’s tone and brand identity, reviewing communications outputs prepared by the team.
- Share relevant comms assets and content to external stakeholders as required.

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.
Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up a forth clinic in Redbridge. Each clinic is a local CIO which runs in partnership with Growing Hope and the local church. We have worked with over 700 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings since we launched. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.
Growing Hope seeks a highly-motivated and experienced Director of Growth who is passionate about our mission. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth functions. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager who oversees a small team including a Communications Officer (1.0FTE), Design and Campaigns Officer (0.6FTE) and Supporter Engagement Officer (0.6FTE). The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. As the charity grows we want to ensure that we have strong financial strategy and growth plans which enable us to achieve our vision. As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office. We envisage the focus of the role to be split with a 40% focus on income generation, 20% on Clinic Growth and 20% on brand, marketing and PR, all aspects of the role will include leadership and management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow, but will include:
Leadership and Management:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.
- Providing line management for the Fundraising Manager, Executive Assistant and other potential members of the team as the charity grows.
- Leading and participating in prayer and worship with the team in line with Growing Hope’s Christian values.
- Ownership of income raising of £710,000 for the national charity with a view to growth each year. In addition to this an income of approximately £100,000 for each local clinic and ensuring that income targets are met across the national and local charities.
Fundraising Strategy & Finance:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
- Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.
- Manging the fundraising, marketing and communications budget lines.
- Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
- Support fundraising strategy development and long term planning for growth.
- Explore and implement strategies for ensuring best use of charitable funds, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure that Growing Hope are raising funds as effectively as possible at both a national and a local level.
Marketing and Communication:
- Overseeing and developing Marketing and Communication strategy across the charity, including PR development, socials and internal and external communications.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Working closely with the rest of the A&W team and wider stakeholders, such as the Communications team, media and creative agencies, you'll help to optimise acquisition activity as we scale up investment in this area. Charity People is delighted to be supporting this incredible organisation to recruit for an interim part time Director of Communications and Marketing who will join the team at a key point; the charity's income has grown year on year since 2020 and they have a goal to increase that further by 2025 in order that they can meet increasing demand for their services.
The interim Director of Communications and Marketing will simultaneously oversee delivery of current plans and look to the future; putting in place structures, systems and processes to support a growing organisation and make the most of new opportunities as they arise.
Part time Director of Communications and Marketing
Contract: interim, 12 month role
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 per annum FTE (pro-rata for 0.6 hour week to between £36,000 and £42,000)
