As Individual Giving and Appeals Manager, you’ll deliver integrated fundraising campaigns across direct mail, email, and digital channels — helping us grow our individual giving base and strengthen donor loyalty.

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of education. We need to inspire and connect with education leaders across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities

We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around education to reduce violence, including launching our new Education, Children and Violence Guidance in May 2024 which provides school, college and alternative provision leaders with five evidence-based recommendations to help prevent children’s involvement in violence. We also have our Toolkit, annual Children, Violence and Vulnerability Report and new implementation resources due next year. But the big risk is that we publish these resources and nothing changes. That’s where you come in.

Your role is to help us ensure more senior education leaders within schools, colleges and alternative provision settings use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:

• Developing great relationships and partnerships with executive and senior leaders in education, making connections and building credibility and trust with the sector.   
• Managing our new online digital self-assessment tool for sector leaders, driving awareness and engagement with education leaders and refining and optimising the system in collaboration with the software developers. 
• Synthesizing and analysing data from the self-assessment tool, using findings to produce value insights reports for YEF and the sector. 
• Creating implementation resources which respond to need and support education leaders to put evidence into practice.

Pregnancy Options Centre (Options) are seeking a Fundraising and Marketing Officer to raise funds for our counselling and education services: supporting people in crisis or distress around unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy loss experiences and educating the next generation on matters surrounding sexual health and healthy relationships. The post-holder will be responsible for raising funds from grants/trusts applications, and for developing and maintaining donor relationships. They will also take the lead on marketing the charity through social media, publicity and our website.

Pregnancy Options Centre provides free, non-directive help and support to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or struggling following an abortion or pregnancy loss. We offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings surrounding their situation and experiences. Alongside our counselling service, our Education project delivers interactive workshops to young people on topics surrounding healthy sex and relationships, self-esteem and the three options following an unplanned pregnancy: abortion, adoption and parenting.

Main purpose of post

• ‘First’ point of contact for general fundraising enquiries (face to face, telephone, via post, email, & website) providing excellent supporter and customer care

• Donor communications & stewardship- delivering high quality donor care for our fundraisers

• Provide support for fundraising initiatives, campaigns & events during the year (with a requirement to work occasional evenings and weekends to fulfil this function)

• Fundraising Materials preparation and distribution

• Responsible for the stock control for all our materials including trading, events and supporter’s items

• Ensure that all activities and contacts are managed through Weston Park Cancer Charity systems and procedures and that data is kept up to date

• Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an active, invested member of our team

• Drive the charity car when required for charity business (driving licence essential).

The u3a movement is one of the largest member organisations in the UK with over 400,000 active members. We are seeking an experienced Development and Income Generation Manager. This crucial role is to develop and sustain programs supporting East and Southeast Asian women in the UK.
 

About Us

We are a new and inclusive organisation empowering East and Southeast Asian women and their families. ESEA women share a common culture and experience similar issues, eg. immigration, racism, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence and exploitation in the UK. We campaign to completely eradicate financial hardship and end violence among women and our dependents within the ESEA UK community. We provide a safe space, advocacy, health, housing, education, co-learning and other holistic support and services.

We are a non-hierarchical organisation with our trustees as key facilitators, working with our staff and volunteers to implement and deliver our projects. We are seeking exemption under the provision of the Equalities Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 under the occupational requirements as this post requires the postholder to be female or identifying herself as female.

Main responsibilities:

• Create a successful income generation strategy across different sources including corporate, grant makers, trust and foundation, social media fundraisers, legacy and new streams of funding.

• Write and submit successful and compelling grant / funding proposals, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organisational goals

• Build solid relationships with corporate sponsors, funders and grant makers to enable us to identify the best income generation streams  for our organisational requirements

• Engagement in the ESEA community with an in depth understanding of nuanced community issues that will ensure robust applications

• Research and identify additional potential funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships from agencies, foundations, and corporations.

• Work closely with our team to gather data and information to support applications

• Maintain and track an organised record of funding opportunities, application deadlines, and submitted proposals. Provide timely updates to the team

• Help report to funders on the benefits of their funded projects.

• Employ and train staff/ volunteers with funding applications and other aspects of funding, eg social media requests

• Share management and supervision work of staff for the different projects in the organisation.

• Participate in the organisation wide collective and collaborative approach to move the direction of the charity forward across different work of the organisation. 

Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent grant writing and communication skills

• Proven track record of at least 5 years in successful funding applications

• Successful track record in fundraising from corporate sectors

• Good understanding and experience of rights based campaigning on migrants and human rights issues through a woman’s lens

• Good knowledge of women’s issues including violence and oppression.

• Good knowledge of how migrant community groups organise and work together

• Experience in building networks and alliances and in collaborative work

• Flexible and proactive, can work independently

• Commit to SEEAWA’s values in promoting and protecting the rights of migrant workers, women who were trafficked and experienced gender violence

• Have one year experience managing staff and volunteers

• From or experience in Southeast and East Asian cultures

You must be:

• A proactive strategist and executor, who is experienced in marketing a wide range of projects including ideally events to the public.
