Responsibilities and Person Specification:
Working closely with the CEO, the Director of Policy and Influencing and the Head of Policy and Research, the Head of Influencing will lead a powerful influencing programme. They will ensure that our work is centred around the experiences of older people in poverty, and that we undertake strategic and sustained influencing activity to persuade key decision makers and persuaders to support and act on our policy recommendations across the nations. Alongside providing cross organisational media communications support. The Head of Influencing will provide effective, inspirational, transparent and compassionate leadership and line management to colleagues in the Influencing department. This is one of two new roles in our well established Policy and Influencing Directorate, building on our commitment to drive forward policy change that tackles poverty in later life.
You should have a passion to tackle poverty in later life, and significant experience leading the development and delivery of overarching influencing strategies across the nations to effectively target decision makers and secure support for our policy calls. It’s also essential to be an experienced line manager and team player, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across the nations to secure policy change.

Summary of the role

Your role in our mission…
As a National PR Officer you will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Marie Curie amongst key target audiences by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage, and you will work with the media to shape major fundraising and influencing campaigns and build our brand.
You will work closely with teams and departments within Marie Curie to provide excellent PR support to secure meaningful coverage that strengthens our national voice and influence thinking around end of life experience; helping to build financial sustainability and manage the reputational risk regarding negative media exposure in all matters concerning the charity.

The Research Officer will report into the Head of Research and provide a wide and extensive range of administrative support to the charity’s research grant programme. The post holder will need to be a team player with excellent communication and people skills and must be proactive, resilient, and capable of organising and managing a varied workload. About the role
As a Business Support Officer, you will support individual areas and provide positive and timely business support for the Care and Support function to meet their delivery of organisation business processes. About the Role

This is a new and exciting role to support the ongoing growth and development of the Men’s Sheds movement and specifically the work of the UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA) made possible through long term support from a funder.
Having celebrated ten years of UKMSA in 2023, we are now looking forward to the next ten years with an ambitious target and programme to support and facilitate the growth of the Men’s Shed movement and the health and vitality of Sheds, together with campaigning for happier and healthier men with programmes to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness, anxiety, depression and ultimately save lives.
We are a small team, and the Head of Operations will be required to deliver against their own agreed targets, as well as supervise the work of others. The Head of Operations will be a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and have day to day line management responsibility for five staff or contractors.
We are the support body for Men’s Sheds across the UK. We work hard to inspire and support the development of Men's Sheds.

Job title: Young Person's Paid Internship with Adoption Alliance
Responsible to: Adoption Alliance Manager
Hours of work 10-14 hours a week, to be negotiated (flexible with evening and weekend working required)

Location: A mixture of home-based, office based (Prestatyn) and some time spent in colleges and schools across North Wales. The successful applicant must be either based in North Wales or able to travel there several times a week.
This is a new role in the organization and the successful applicant will help us to shape the role going forward. As an internship, the post is limited to one year and the successful candidate will be offered training to meet their development needs. This role will offer the successful applicant an opportunity to play an active role in this new project which aims to improve the experiences of adopted people in schools in North Wales whilst at the same time having opportunities to learn new skills and gain knowledge and understanding in areas which are of interest to them. Help will be given to transition from this role into future training or work.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP
To use your own lived experience to improve the educational experiences of young, adopted people across North Wales.
To work closely with the Adoption Alliance Lead Youth Worker to support the delivery of the project – for example by preparing training materials for schools, working with groups of young, adopted people, creating content for various online platforms.
To work closely with the Lead Education Officer to help deliver training to schools and colleges.
To gain experience and improve your own life chances as a result of working on this project.
To support you to develop digital content and resources which will be used in this project.
To support young people to create products that promote the purpose of the project which may include digital resources such as podcasts.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.
- To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
- To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce.
- To support with the administration of programme activity by attending and writing minutes for key meetings, drawing up programme contracts, aiding with diary management, filing, liaising with key personnel, and conducting phone or zoom conversations as needed.
- To support with the financial administration of our programmes through invoicing and managing participant expenses.
- To take part in training and attending any networking events as required, including potential out-of-hours events such as our 3-day residentials, to represent Cause4 externally when required.
- To contribute to Cause4’s overall business development when required, and being pro-active in terms of personal development, working alongside the line-manager to build key objectives for growth within Cause4.
Marketing and Communications
- To oversee and manage the day-to-day communications of our programmes, including managing our dedicated programme inboxes, liaising with participants, trainers and partners as needed.
- To set-up and publicise key events, projects and training opportunities on all programme websites and relevant platforms, including Eventbrite.
- To support the Programmes team to achieve public-facing training sales targets for our programmes through implementation of the marketing plan.
- To support with communications and marketing by curating social media content (SmarterQueue), programme newsletters (Mailchimp), graphics (Canva), and blogs.
- To support updating the website on a regular basis with support from the web designer and to be a coordinating lead and contributor in writing for key publications such as the digital Now, New and Next publication.
- To research and develop our audiences and networks, in line with our priority areas, regularly updating our databased to ensure key contacts are in place.
- To lead on the analytics of our marketing data, collating vital information from SmarterQueue, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics.

As our Interim co-director: campaigns & communications you’ll support and oversee a team of talented campaigners and communicators delivering our vision of a zero carbon Britain built by, and for, everyone. You’ll lend your strategic expertise to ensure that our mission of inspiring people to take the action the climate crisis demands is fine tuned to the real opportunities and challenges that surround us. You’ll contribute your creativity to translating climate urgency into socially just and workable proposals the public can get behind - and get stuck into. This interim role is designed to cover a 12 month parental leave period, and will join during a period of wider organisational change.
