About the Role

Reporting to the Legacy & In Memory Campaign Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the delivery of the in memory giving programme and be the first point of contact for all in memory supporters. You’ll be developing and delivering engaging fundraising campaigns across different channels as part of our strategy to inspire people to give in memory of a loved one and to increase the income we’re able to raise so that we can reach and help more veterans. Developing relationships with supporters will be one of your strengths and you’re passionate about providing the best supporter experience for supporters across the charity. There’s lots of scope and potential for you to make a real difference and achieve considerable success in this role.

About the Team

The post holder will be working as part of the Individual Giving team in the Commercial Directorate which includes Legacy & In Memory, Supporter Care and Individual Giving. Across all our relationships, we build trust and engagement with our supporters and with each other. The quality of how we deliver our objectives is just as important as the end results. Your key purpose will be manage and develop our online retail operation  to drive profit and grow income to support the hospices and retail strategy. Responsibilities include optimising our current eBay operations and developing the Hospice’s online retail presence into multi-channel sales, increasing the profitability of all online sales. In time there may be the requirement to develop a dedicated SSCH online website.

You will also be in charge of new goods, researching and advising on our small range of new stock for our shops as well as being in charge of our Christmas Card operation.

You will be required to ensure there is a smooth, professional and efficient online and new goods operation including responsibility for selection of appropriate items, producing engaging listings, pricing to optimise revenue, packing and despatching as well as maintaining excellent customer relations.

About you

This role requires proven experience of trading on eBay and other online platforms and a

A minimum of 2 years working at a mid-senior level in an e-commerce role is essential to this role as is a proactive and problem solving attitude. Experience of working in the charity retail sector and managing a team of volunteers is also desirable.

You will also have an ability to develop our Ecommerce strategy and have strong commercial acumen and understanding of online selling. You will possess excellent management skills and have good verbal and written communication skills together with a

basic technical understanding of the architecture of an ecommerce website and good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Google Analytics, SEO, online advertising platforms eg  AdWord

For over 900 years Tewkesbury Abbey has been at the heart of the community - as a place of gathering, worship, celebration and remembrance.  Down the centuries we have been a Benedictine Abbey, a parish church and a place of refuge in times of flood and war.

Today the Abbey is a thriving parish church with hundreds coming here to worship each week, drawn by our commitment to daily prayer and our traditional choral worship. We are a ‘Major Church’ within the Church of England, and we are larger than fourteen of our country’s cathedrals. We are also a venue for concerts, large civic events, fairs and festivals working in partnership with colleagues throughout the region, the Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury Cultural Consortium and Gloucester Cathedral.

Like many heritage assets within the UK, COVID and lockdown presented us with serious challenges to our financial sustainability. We are now responding to those challenges with ambitious plans to double our visitor income and numbers within five years. These plans have been agreed and funded by our Parochial Church Council and are being overseen by our trading arm Tewkesbury Abbey Limited.

We applied for and won a £250,000 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which will among other projects increase our marketing activity and visitor engagement, including the appointment of a marketing assistant, a volunteers officer and a project manager to oversee the scoping of future capital development plans, and testing activities such as entry by donation.  We hope that this will lead to one or more larger-scale capital bids which could lead to a longer-term funding relationship to secure the Abbey as a thriving venue, unique heritage asset and global visitor destination.

In the past year we have hosted Luke Jerram’s ‘Gaia’ installation which was visited by over 20,000 people from across the region, the Luxmuralis immersive projection ‘Space’ and ‘The Longest Yarn’, a commemorative exhibition of knitted D-Day history, followed by Peter Walker’s ‘Peace Doves’ installation.  Alongside these we also hosted environmental events, a schools programme, concerts and talks in addition to our core business of of worship and festive services.

We are looking for a Finance and Supporter Care Officer to play a critical role in our team, by providing the necessary financial, administrative and operational support for the smooth running of the organisation. By delivering this essential support you will directly contribute to our goal of supporting more women with birth injuries in Ethiopia. 

The Finance and Supporter Care Officer will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day financial record-keeping and systems for the charity, including donation processing and bank reconciliation. They will contribute to producing budgets and management accounts that are essential for the efficient running of the charity.

They will be the first point of contact for our supporters; delivering first class supporter care when answering the phone, emails and producing written correspondence, and keeping our CRM up to date with high quality data. This role is also critical in providing administrative and operational support for the organisation including organising meetings and travel.

About the role
This is an inspiring role for someone who wants to contribute to our success by providing strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions supporting the Dementia Adventure business plan and charitable mission and objectives.

Managing a team of five across fundraising, communications, special projects and data management, the successful applicant will lead the development of partnerships and campaigns to raise funds for Dementia Adventure’s unique work to support people with dementia and their carers to have a more active and fulfilled life by getting outdoors and experiencing the benefits of nature.

We are looking for someone to join the charity’s Senior Leadership Team who will bring experience from their past successes and provide inspirational strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions in support of the Dementia Adventure business plan, charitable mission and objectives. The successful applicant will have a strong, successful track record of fundraising and/or other forms of income generation in the charity sector, including management, with proven experience in meeting financial and non-financial targets. We want to hire a highly organised and proactive Business Support Officer to play a key role in our small but dynamic team. Scottish Women’s Aid has an exciting opportunity to join their communications team. This is an influential and dynamic position, reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Communications Lead shares responsibility for leading SWA’s communications work, campaigning, messaging, and delivering a media strategy in line with our strategic objectives.

Working collaboratively across Policy, Fundraising, member, and training teams at SWA you will co-develop and deliver a communications strategy, identifying the best ways to lever change through media campaigns around key issues for women, children, and young people experiencing domestic abuse. You will shape a wide variety of materials and outputs that support SWA’s broader advocacy and campaigning aims.  You will devise engaging communications approaches and craft compelling content. This will include media responses, PR, press releases, and briefing notes as well as articles for a range of audiences comprising our network, partners, stakeholders, the media, government, and wider civil society. You will also co-curate our online presence, creating engaging content across a range of platforms, and be adept at analysing engagement metrics and evaluating impact.

Background

Scottish Women’s Aid is the lead organisation in Scotland working to end domestic abuse. We are both a children’s rights and a women’s rights organisation.

• We directly campaign to institutions and leaders for policies and laws that address the drivers of women’s inequality and improve responses to domestic abuse. This work makes women and children safer and helps them disentangle themselves from their abusers.
• We provide training to public and private bodies from the police and judiciary to child welfare systems, to effectively respond to survivors.
• We raise the profile of domestic abuse nationally and internationally so that domestic abuse is treated like the critical threat to human rights that it is.
• We host Scotland’s 24-Hour Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline to ensure help is always available while actively supporting a network of 33 specialist local Women’s Aid services that directly support and provide refuge to women and children of Scotland affected by domestic abuse

What We Need

We’re looking for someone who can fulfill the above description and has:

• Relevant experience in a communications role (of at least 4 years)
• Understanding of social justice communications principles and best practices
• Excellent written communication skills and experience producing content for key audiences
• Experience of campaign work within a VAWG, political, parliamentary or public affairs context.

The role:

To work closely with the Events Manager and wider team on the operational delivery of all aspects of the learning events lifecycle, including:

• Planning, delivering and evaluating conferences and learning events including securing suitable suppliers such as speakers, venues etc. 

• Be a point of contact for those involved in events including content providers, presenters, participants and team.

• Communication: Handling member queries, emails, phone calls, and acting as a liaison between team members and other departments.

• Document management: Organising and maintaining digital and physical files, including educational materials and administrative documents.

• Supporting logistical arrangements: Booking transportation, accommodations, sourcing equipment etc.

• Administrative reports: Compiling and formatting reports for Senior Leadership Team and other senior stakeholders on progress and performance metrics. This includes monitoring & evaluation and reporting on a number of events including risk & issue mitigation and areas for improvement.

• Using digital solutions and platforms to support the event life-cycle such as our website, CRM, Oxford Abstracts etc.

• Using online platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams and other conference or virtual meeting platforms and tools.

• Manage video recordings and editing and uploading onto our video channels and learning managements system, so candidates and members can access them.

• Any other duties considered necessary for the role.

• You will be an experienced events professional who can demonstrate that they plan, deliver and evaluate work effectively within and across teams. 

• You’ll have previous experience of hosting online events and/or courses as well as in person activities.
