What we do

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Since resuming services post-Covid, we have realized the needs and wants of the community have shifted from our previous offer. We have a strong Community Development programme to connect with and rebuild our offer, including some big changes to pre-Covid ways of working. Building on a strong track record, we intend to continue working with the community to deliver activities and events that meet local needs while also providing opportunities for fun and friendship. Our community offer includes activities connecting children to nature and tackling food insecurity; accessible community fitness and wellbeing activities; and intergenerational activities and events. We are re-developing our offer whilst staying focused on our aims: ensuring that everyone feels part of a community and that no one is isolated or lonely. We are looking for a fresh pair of eyes to help us evolve this work.

The role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations

• Leadership and line management of team; oversight of sessional facilitators and contractors used by team

• Setting programme budget and service targets; monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery against these

• Playing a key part in building, broadening and developing new funding for these programmes and maintaining relationships with current funders

• Lead role in planning and execution of community events

• Development of corporate partnerships and CSR relationships

• Responsibility for general outward communications, including social media

• Contributing to the wider organisation as a member of the Senior Management Team

• Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead

About you

You have a track record of developing and delivering excellent community programmes in the third sector. You’re a seasoned team leader with experience of change management. You have an outwardlooking approach and are passionate about building programmes with community buy-in. You’re flexible, accountable, take responsibility, are highly organised and skilled in multitasking and balancing priorities. You have experience of fundraising and maybe other types of income generation. You have strong relationship building skills – internally and externally - and build trust and credibility easily. Purpose of the role

Tech Angels (previously Tech to Community Connect) is a service which aims to reduce digital exclusion across Surrey. In recent years, and particularly now in a post-pandemic society, so much connection happens digitally; those without the knowledge or equipment to connect to the internet are at a very high risk of loneliness and isolation, which have a significant negative impact on physical and mental health.

To combat this, we provide devices on long term loan to people who are disabled or living with a health condition, family carers, of older age, or to those with another vulnerability. We also offer a ‘match’ with one of our team of volunteer Tech Angels, to help with digital literacy and confidence.  We also supply sim cards with data to those, who don’t have wi-fi, so that they can be connected. 

 

The purpose of the role will be to drive and coordinate referrals into and through the service, making sure that people facing digital exclusion get the support they need to get (and stay) connected.  Ultimately the outcomes we are focused on achieving are a reduction in health inequality and an increase in wellbeing.

Main responsibilities

1. Coordination of Tech to Community Connect activity in a defined part of Surrey

2. Communication with people using the service, carers, volunteers, organisations that may have referred to the service and other stakeholders

3. Database management, record keeping and impact measurement following all data security policies

4. On-going support for people using the service who are in a ‘match’ with a volunteer Tech Angel, those waiting for a ‘match’ or those who are accessing another part of the service

5. Writing case studies and sharing the stories of people the service is helping

6. Promoting the service by pro-actively building relationships across organisations and groups in Surrey

7. Working as a team to ensure we are delivering the highest quality of services

Person specification

It is essential that you have:

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a range of formats and with a variety of audiences 

· Advanced organisation and coordination skills

· Good level of computer literacy including all Microsoft packages with experience of using a range of databases

· A high degree of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative

· Live within Surrey and be prepared to travel across the county when required

· The ability to either work from home (with regular work in the community) or be based in our office in Burpham, Surrey

It is desirable that you have:

· Experience and knowledge of working with people who are Disabled, have a long-term health conditions and/or carers

· Experience and/or knowledge of working or volunteering in digital inclusion or technology training

· Confident and persuasive presentation skills

· Experience in group facilitation or training

· Volunteer management knowledge and experience

· A good understanding of the Health, Social Care and Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector (VCFS)

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.

About you  

The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s host organisation. They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Communications and Engagement Lead to drive and deliver the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s communications activity to promote the benefits of healthy peatlands to a national audience. This will be done primarily through establishing and maintaining good relationships with external contacts and partners and using these networks to identify opportunities and to build the Programme’s reach. You will lead the production of communications materials through design and appropriate messaging, assist their advocacy work, and plan and deliver events such as online workshops and their annual conference.  

They are looking for someone who is passionate about communicating peatlands to a wide audience and is creative and proactive in their approach. The peatland agenda has expanded exponentially over the last 10 years and you will need to be an excellent team player and networker to capture what is happening and communicate this to multiple partners and stakeholders. The Communications and Engagement Lead post is a standalone communications post within a small team (9 people) and your ability to quickly develop good relationships with partner organisations will be critical to your success in the role. 

You will be lead on the delivery of the communications strand of the Peatland Programme’s activity. You should have experience of designing publications, creating digital content, newsletters, running stakeholder events and managing social media accounts. The Business Development Co-ordinator reports to the Business Development Operations Manager and is the linchpin for our business development programmes.  You will be responsible for setting up events online and face to face, contacting trainers, taking bookings and supporting with promotion; making sure the support and content made available to families is kept up to date. The role also involves updating our CRM database, making sure invoices are raised and paid and collating information for reports from the database or Excel.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who has excellent IT and digital skills, ideally with experience of online event systems such as Eventbrite and Zoom, a good knowledge of Excel and experience using a CRM database. You’ll need to be highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a friendly, confident phone manner and a good knowledge of the issues and concerns families with disabled children face.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CIPFA) with a solid understanding of IT systems management. They will have proven experience in both financial and IT leadership roles, working closely with senior managers and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders at senior levels. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability. Experience in the charity sector and in developing financial strategy is essential for this role.

Primrose Hill Community Association (PHCA) run a community centre and a community library.  This post will be helping to administer the work of both, including helping to administer membership, newsletters, social media, activities, events, projects, hall hire, meetings etc.  It is a lively, busy environment in which to work. 

We are currently looking for a part time administrator to work  8 hours per week in the Primrose Hill Community Centre office, days/times by agreement, and a further 12 hours per week at the Primrose Hill Community Library, days/times by agreement.  The work is during normal office hours but helpful if you could work occasional weekends or evenings.

£27000 p.a (inc LW) pro rata based on a 40 hour working week.

The post is a three-day per week job-share with one of the current librarians. Together they will support the diverse information needs of the users at Anna Freud including both staff and students.
The two part-time Librarians share the responsibility for the management, and promotion of the library’s services and resources and for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality information service that meets the needs and aims of Anna Freud.

 The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £426 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and members to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will maintain strong oversight of the DEC funded programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners and external briefings over the duration of the response.

Key responsibilities:

Communication and Collaboration

· Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication.

· Maintain strong understanding of response context.

· Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders.

 

Analysis and Reporting

· Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation.

· Contribute to the review and analysis of plans and reports submitted by member charities in response to DEC appeals.

· Share timely and relevant information and analysis from plans and reports with DEC member charities and local partners. 

· Manage external reporting requirements including preparation of stakeholder reports and infographics.

Management and Leadership

· Coordinate the team’s surge capacity to deliver points above, which may involve managing and inducting a team of external consultants and training them in the use of our knowledge management system [Box].

· Coordinate with the Programme Quality, Accountability & Learning team to ensure monitoring, learning and accountability initiatives are timely and appropriate to the response.

· Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities.

If you have demonstratable humanitarian experience of Ukraine, with the competence to prepare timely/accurate reports and deliver credible presentations to diverse audiences, then you will be perfect to join an incredible team and organisation.
