Our communications directorate encompasses 18 people, and the director of communications has responsibility for two direct reports and sits on our executive management team (EMT), also helping to shape strategy and development across our 100-strong organisation. As director of communications, you will play a pivotal role in developing and strengthening our communications directorate. This will include ensuring we operate in an integrated way across our communications, policy and strategy, development and engagement and corporate services and finances directorates, enabling us to build on our success as an outstanding membership organisation.
You will provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s communications, marketing, media, digital and design functions, providing high level advice and support to the chief executive, deputy chief executive, chair and board, as well as playing a key role as part of the NHS Providers director team.

About this role
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will ensure that communications and marketing priorities are implemented across the organisation to build brand awareness and reputation, increase reach and engagement across key stakeholder groups (funders, learners, coordination bodies, strategic partners), support fundraising activities, as well as contribute to RedR’s positioning within relevant sectors.The post holder will have exceptional communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and an interest in learning and development within RedR’s thematic areas.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Development and implementation of yearly comms and marketing plan with support from Associate Director of Business Development and Programmes
- Produce regular website, social media and communications content as well as newsletters to maintain engagement and improve our reach across our members, supporters, funders and other target audiences
- Website maintenance and improvements in coordination with relevant staff, centralising efforts to ensure the functionality of the website and key integrations with third party platforms
- Support programme staff with creation of new resources and materials for our projects Support fundraising efforts including public appeals through content development, design and project management with external suppliers

Social Media and website
- Maintain and build RedR UK’s social media presence, ensuring social media channels are populated with engaging content with a consistent, strong voice reflecting RedR’s strategy to maximise potential for exposure among target audiences
- Manage a calendar of social media and website activity
- Work with the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development to create and develop campaigns (including fundraising and awareness raising campaigns) to be run across social media platforms
- Monitor and report on engagement, number of followers and website referrals to inform best practice for post timing and content
- Act as the primary point of contact for queries received through social media and inbound emails, ensuring they are responded to appropriately and in a timely manner
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of RedR UK’s website, including making edits and creating new content
- Ensure the website content is proofread and accurate, and any broken links or errors are promptly corrected
- Website (wordpress) maintenance and improvements in coordination with relevant staff (and external developer where relevant), centralising efforts to ensure the functionality of the website and key integrations with third party platforms
- Work with external website developer to resolve issues with the website and further develop design of website to accommodate emerging needs.
Marketing
- Stay abreast of comms and marketing trends and propose new and innovative approaches to increase outreach, engagement and fundraising income
- Produce in-house marketing materials and templates including event brochures, proposal templates, illustrations for reports/proposals, graphics and videos using platforms such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint and other editing tools
- Produce and disseminate high quality regular newsletters, and support with production of speeches and letters
- Identify inspiring impact stories and produce written and occasional films case studies and other content for use by the Fundraising and Programmes teams, supporting
- Support programme teams wishing to undertake communications activities as part of a grant/funded project; ensure that institutional donors’ communications activities and visibility requirements are respected
- Lead on emergency communications, in close coordination with the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development
- Champion and monitor the use of RedR brand and style guidelines; to develop messaging guidelines and ensure they are adhered to across the organisation and to support other departments to develop their messaging and material.

- Lead and coordinate the drafting of RedR’s Annual Report, liaising with staff across the organisation for input
- Contribute to the development of the fundraising and engagement strategy
- Occasionally support colleagues from the BD & Fundraising and Programmes teams to produce project reports for institutional donors and/or trusts and foundations

- Demonstrable experience covering a broad range of communication methods, such as:
- Interviewing/sourcing/writing/editing case studies, impact stories, social media posts, newsletters, blogs, and speeches

- Strong digital skills and an awareness of the importance of digital information in the sector.
- Knowledge of a broad range of communications activities (e.g. websites, marketing, social media, publications)

Summary of the role:
The Head of Communications is responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s communication strategy to establish Muslim Aid as a leading faith-based voice and thought leader in international development, humanitarian programming and positive systemic change. Develop and implement a comprehensive global communication strategy that enhances the organisation’s public image, engages key stakeholders, and supports the achievement of strategic goals. Ensure that the strategy is flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
Lead the development and monitoring of annual communication plans that outline key initiatives, campaigns, and activities. Steer strategic engagement with the media to ensure accurate reporting on Muslim Aid’s activities, priorities, principles, and approach, as well as to platform Muslim Aid’s strategic direction and goals, and advance the organisation’s thought leadership.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience in a communications role, preferably within an INGO or similar organisation.

About this role:
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Communications and Policy Manager will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and policy work and its reach and influence.
Key responsibilities
1. Support the delivery of a comprehensive plan for our communications and policy activity, combining ongoing promotional communications, specific activities for funds and programmes, and proactively generated content and opportunities to influence
2. Co-ordinating with SIB partners in developing and delivering communication work, on major projects such as the Youth Investment Fund, the Recovery Loan Fund and the Enterprise Development Programme; ensuring that it is powered by data and customer insight of the highest quality
3. Keeping track of policy developments in areas of strategic importance to SIB, notably in social investment, youth, community energy and infrastructure investment. Writing briefings on key policy developments related to SIB’s strategic priorities, proactively identifying opportunities to further our policy agenda; also researching and preparing responses for relevant external consultations, using SIB data and evidence
4. Identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships and partnerships with key policy, research and communications stakeholders
5. Attending and providing oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting

About the role
We’re looking for a Legacy Marketing Officer to join our Individual Giving and Legacy Team.
It’s an exciting time to join the Legacy Team as we are embarking on a new era for legacy and in memory giving at Young Lives vs Cancer. In memory giving and gifts in Wills left to us by our supporters are essential to ensuring we can help generations of children and young people who will sadly be living with a cancer diagnosis. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Legacy Marketing Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting the Legacy Marketing Manager to plan, implement and deliver legacy and in-memory strategies.
The Legacy Officer will work on a range of legacy and in-memory campaigns, materials and supporter centric journeys across multiple channels. As a team we will maximise legacy and in memory giving and acquire new legacy and in memory supporters, as well as nurturing existing supporters who have expressed an interest in leaving a gift in their Will for the future of Young Lives vs Cancer’s work.
The role will suit a passionate and creative individual who thrives on working collaboratively and who is able to manage end to end projects and supplier relationships. There will be a need to analyse data to monitor performance as well as identifying trends and opportunities. Fulfilment mapping is also a key element of the role as well as being comfortable presenting in person to colleagues and suppliers.
What will I be doing?

About You:
Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. With your good organisational and time management skills you’ll be able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
You will have knowledge of usability testing, user research methods and conversion rate optimisation as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.

- Manage the delivery of all Retention campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes
- Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
- Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure
- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop retention. To gather information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters

About you
We’re looking for the best of the best to be part of our caring and innovative organisation. The Communications Manager will be a skilled communications professional with strong campaign and project management experience and a passion for driving the conversation about healthcare. They’ll be a proactive team player with excellent writing skills, experience of engaging across different channels, from PR to digital and a track record of delivering communication campaigns with impact, writing educational resources and audience-led website content. Your Role
The post holder will be a strong planner, organiser, pro-active team player and hands-on campaigner. You’ll be a key member of the Communications Team and use your strong collaborative skills to work effectively with our Fundraising and Membership Support Teams to create powerful, transformative communications and campaigns.

Line Management Responsibilities:
Line management of our Digital staff, but we are looking to grow our Communications Team and hope to have a Social Media specialist soon.
Your Responsibilities will include:
Campaign development and management:
· Develop and project manage a programme of integrated communication campaigns that grab attention and encourage action to support our vision and mission.
- Work closely with the Fundraising and Membership Support Teams to develop aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across a variety of platforms.
- Lead on the creation of compelling campaign assets and content (e.g. educational and self-help, online actions and campaign toolkits).
- Manage campaign timeframes and budgets seeking a good, quantifiable return on investment.
- Responsible for the organisations membership database (currently on Raisers Edge) and champagning the charity to grow its membership base.
- Gather and present audience insight to inform our campaigns and ensure our campaigning work is evidence-led.
- Set and measure campaign KPIs, conduct campaign de-briefs and write campaign evaluations, encourage a culture of testing and learning and growing our campaigning approach.
- Seek relevant external collaboration opportunities with allies and partners to amplify our campaigns.
- Where appropriate, commission and manage the relationship with external creative, campaigning and advertising agencies.
Projects and events management:
- Organise, plan and deliver our involvement at online and in person events, and help showcase the different types of support Myaware UK has to offer the myasthenia community.
- Design, deliver and project manage cross-organisational communication activities which will raise the profile myasthenia related conditions.
- Support the CEO to deliver the organisations new website aimed at supporting the needs of people living with myasthenia, raising awareness of healthcare professionals, and championing world-class research.
- Support the Fundraising Team with the communication requirements for events, the Research and Partnerships Team with communication about new research and medical advances, and the Membership Support Team with communication about our services.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with the Fundraising and the Membership Support Teams to integrate campaign efforts and identify the relevant campaign issues, priorities and opportunities for fundraising, influencing policy and network membership growth.
- Support Myaware UKs broader communications that are strategically aligned with locally focused communications activities, projects and events.
- Collaborate with freelancers, consultants, agencies, volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders to amplify our communications and campaigns reach and impact.
- Represent Myaware UK alongside other team members at events, workshops, conferences and more to advance our communication and campaign objectives.
Innovation and improvement:
- Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow our communications and campaign effectiveness.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve our communications and campaigns approach.

- An undergraduate degree or equivalent professional training or at least 5 years relevant experience in a relevant subject area (e.g. Communications, Campaigns, Marketing, Media, Social Campaigns)

- At least three years' experience leading in a communications and campaigns role in a comparable organisation, leading successful campaigns to further organisational objectives.

- Experience in managing communication projects resulting in effective events or activities.
- Experience in creating and implementing innovative, bold and effective communications ideas that gain traction.

- Experience in managing budgets and financial planning for campaigns.
- Proven experience of adapting communications approaches for a range of stakeholders to create maximum impact.
