The Head of Finance is a new role which supports the growth of the global finance team in line with the rapid organisational growth and spread internationally. The Head of Finance role shall provide financial leadership, alongside the CFO, through proactive engagement with each business unit vertical, robust support, monitoring and challenge of financial decision-making in context of plans and strategic directives informing key decisions across the Global Organisation.

The key duties of this Head of Finance are as follows:

• Prepare annual global organisation budgets by entity, business unit and project.
• Prepare multi-year forecasts and financial plans built on known and likely projects, activities, expected growth and blue-sky scenarios.
• Prepare regular financial performance reports for the Executive Committee and Board.
• Have critical oversight of the global results consolidation.
• Lead the Global Finance team with 3 direct reports and outsourced local relationships for each office jurisdiction.
• Prepare quarterly global and entity forecasts and supervise cashflow.
• Hold oversight of global fiscal and tax compliance.
• Plan, forecast and monitor recovery of funds from grant funded projects.
• Promote the visibility of financial data and outputs to stakeholders through continuous improvement and integration of finance and related systems and processes.
• Deputise for the CFO on Financial matters at Senior Management Team and Executive Committee meetings as required.

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified as an Accountant: ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Non-profit experience, particularly with grants and project financial reporting.
• International experience – ideally at HQ group level (non-profit or commercial) demonstrating an understanding of cultural and logistical challenges.
• Excellent FP&A experience, including modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience of managing a finance team.
• Experience providing a proactive partnering role to business operations, especially in ensuring achievement of budgets
• The willingness to travel internationally to other GWEC offices on an infrequent basis.

We are hiring a part-time Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join a cancer charity for a 1-year fixed term contract. The organisation is a well-established charity which provides specialist care and support to young people across the UK. The Person:

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working in a fundraising position and driving an income-generation strategy. You will have demonstrable success in securing gifts from a range of donors and in building excellent relationships, with colleagues, donors and beneficiaries. You’ll come with substantial experience in applying for grants from a range of sources and in securing legacy pledges.

The ideal candidate will have a proven knowledge of fundraising principles and of the Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission guidelines. You’ll be experienced in using fundraising databases and data segmentation to identify and develop prospect lists. Exceptional attention to detail and a good working knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles are required.

As our Head of Income Generation, you will be highly motivated with the ability to find pragmatic solutions, seek improvements and adapt to changing situations. You’ll share ELF’s passion in supporting cancer patients and their families.

Experience working in a medical charity would be desirable, but we will consider candidates from a variety of charitable backgrounds. Team leadership experience would be beneficial. A fundraising qualification would be useful, although not essential.

This role can is offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. We can be flexible with how the hours sit across the week to fit in with your schedule, however we do ask that the role holder works during core hours and has some flexibility to occasionally attend events and fundraisers outside of working hours. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week based in the Marsh Barton office.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of this job is to provide energy efficiency advice and casework-level support to individuals and families living in low-income households and facing fuel poverty. The primary goals of the project are:

1. Raise Awareness & Energy Savings - Educate vulnerable local communities, who may lack prior knowledge, about strategies for reducing energy costs and achieving long-term energy and financial savings. The aim is to empower individuals with practical energy-saving techniques and encourage grassroots peer learning within these communities to help spread survival strategies.

2. Energy Advice & Fuel Debt Support - Offer detailed guidance on energy management, including addressing fuel debt issues, to help clients understand their fuel usage in the context of their overall financial situation. This includes enabling individuals to make informed decisions about energy consumption and related financial matters.

3. Assist Vulnerable Communities in Energy Crisis - Equip particularly vulnerable households with the skills necessary to cope with the growing crisis in household energy debt, as consumption rises sharply. This involves preparing communities to manage their energy usage and finances more effectively in the face of increasing energy costs.

4. Income Maximisation & Benefits Awareness - Help raise awareness about entitlements and assist clients in claiming relevant benefits to maximise family income, ultimately helping them manage energy expenses more sustainably.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Holistic Client Assessment and Support - conduct detailed confidential interviews with clients, applying a holistic approach to assess their needs for advice and support.
2. Compliance and Quality Standards - Provide energy efficiency advice and casework support that adheres to the Advice Quality Standard (AQS).
3. Comply with AQS case management and case recording procedures and processes, contributing to the delivery of high-quality advice and casework, and the collection and reporting of statistical data as required to enable accurate evaluation of the impact of the service and reporting to funders.
4. To be responsible for delivering high-quality one-to-one advice and casework on energy efficiency - targeting our food hub participants and other local residents who are on low income. 
5. To raise awareness and assist people without any previous awareness/knowledge of how to save on energy costs and develop long-term energy and monetary savings within their homes.
6. To facilitate and deliver monthly Switching Off Poverty workshops/talks/group sessions about fuel poverty; how to identify at-risk local residents; what tools/assistance is available; and how to impart help and guidance following the end of the programme - these workshops aim to enable participants to access tools and develop the new skills required to help them monitor, track, record, and understand their household fuel use and bills.
7. Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels; Face-To-Face, Telephone, Teams/Zoom, WhatsApp as well as via email/letter.
8. To ensure that the service offered is tailored to the needs of clients and takes into account the particular needs of each individual, including issues around communication, understanding, and vulnerability.
9. Through clear communication and consultation, ensure that clients remain involved in resolving their energy debt, benefit, and money management issues and are kept informed on the progress of their case throughout our work with them.
10. To provide advice and support around energy efficiency and money management; income maximisation; budgeting; saving; debt and understanding and accessing appropriate financial products.
11. To effectively use the database system (Lamplight) to organise and manage client support and to take on issues (as cases) for the client that may have issues with billing and metering problems. Take up complaints and provide grant-assisted schemes. All work is to follow the file LHP’s management procedure. 
12. To be responsible for the delivery of an agreed annual project plan, meeting targets and milestones for the Energy Efficiency advice service.
13. To liaise with other agencies and develop and sustain good working relationships with those agencies.
14. To be responsible for maintaining project files with evidence of project outputs and milestones.
15. Supported by the Advice Services Manager and members of the team, you will collectively develop relationships with other organisations by attending various borough-wide forums and raising awareness.  
16. To be responsible for preparing the quarterly project monitoring report to send out to the funder and ensuring progress against milestones and achievement of agreed targets are being met.
17. To contribute to the monitoring of the project and provide quarterly and annual monitoring data and evaluative reporting to the Services Manager for dissemination to the Funders.
18. To establish and maintain warm relations of trust and cooperation with clients in keeping with the Limehouse Project ethos.
19. To remain alert to issues relating to capacity, client understanding, and safeguarding issues when working with clients and promptly consult with the Advice Services Manager regarding any areas of concern.
20. To respond to clients’ file reviews, take action and follow the key date task diary on the LHP database system.
21. To strictly adhere to all LHP policies, in particular those on confidentiality, equal opportunity, case recording, file management policy, etc. Strictly follow the AQS Quality System e.g. clients’ filing system, monitoring system, referral system, etc, and keep them up to date.
22. Community Engagements and Partnerships – Liaising with other agencies, such as local authorities, health services, and community organisations, on behalf of clients.

24. Deliver advice sessions at the LHP office, GP surgeries, and other outreach venues, raising awareness of available support services.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To support the Limehouse Project’s overall goals and vision.

2. Carry out day-to-day general administrative duties that are vital to the smooth running of the services and specific project-related work such as responding to letters, doing follow-up work, etc., and its online appointment sheets for LHP and external partners.

3. Attend Limehouse Project staff meetings regularly.

We are looking for an experienced leader to run our Crosslight Branch, staff and volunteers in West Kent (with locations in across Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells), and to provide debt advice, case management, and money education to Crosslight’s service users. 

Our ideal candidate has prior debt advice experience combined with experience of leading and supervising staff and volunteers. We understand that these are unique skills and therefore if you have leadership experience gained in other social welfare settings, there may be an opportunity to train as a debt advisor if you can demonstrate that you possess the skills, maturity and determination to become proficient in this element.

Summary

The Fundraising Officer will play an integral part in the success of our small but vibrant national charity by maximising income from Corporate and Community based stakeholders. The post holder will focus primarily on developing corporate engagement, sponsorship and donations, but will also grow our Community fundraising arm and support the work of other income streams. This is a pivotal role within our charity, leading the finance and operations teams and supporting the Charity’s strategic direction. Reporting directly to our CEO, the Director of Finance & Operations is responsible for overseeing our finances and core services, including HR and IT, and acting as Company Secretary. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Trustees, and external stakeholders to ensure the charity is well-run, financially resilient, and operationally effective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute strategies for Finance & Operations to ensure the charity’s assets and infrastructure provide maximum impact for beneficiaries.

• Senior Leadership Contribution: Play an active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing collective leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making, and supporting the CEO in leading the organisation.

• Financial Management: Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and statutory accounts for an annual income of around £11m.

• Governance: Act as Company Secretary, supporting the Board of Trustees and ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements.

• Investments: Monitor and report on the charity’s investments, working closely with investment advisors and providing strategic recommendations (strategic reserves of £130m+).

• Operational Oversight: Lead the development of a technology strategy, ensuring IT infrastructure via our outsourced provider supports the charity’s needs and enhances user experience.

• People & Culture: Collaborate with our HR Business Partner to develop a People Strategy that fosters a culture of ambition, agility, and continuous learning, whilst ensuring operational HR support and systems are effective.

A summary of what we’re looking for:

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CCAB, or CIMA) with significant experience in leading finance functions, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.

• Proven track record of managing financial and operational teams, with expertise in charity governance and accounting, investments, and strategic planning.

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex data to inform decision-making.

• A deep understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements within the charity sector. 

The ideal candidate will have experience within a charity finance & operational role, with the corresponding knowledge and understanding of investment oversight, charity governance, and the HR & IT functions. An understanding of the healthcare context is also beneficial.

About the Team:
The Campaigns team leads the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid’s major campaigns efforts to achieve SDG 6.  The role specifically leads our two Global Advocacy Priorities (GAPS) across the WaterAid Federation and works in partnership with regional teams and country programs to develop national campaigns that achieve policy change in programme countries and key development actors. 

About the Role:
With 10 years to achieve Agenda 2030, the SDG 6 targets on clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene are among the furthest behind. Achieving universal, sustainable WASH will require a major mobilisation of resources, public demand and political will.  The successful candidate will build campaigns that drive that public demand, playing a pivotal role in driving forward this agenda, delivering improvements in the lives of millions of the world’s poorest people.

In this role, you will: 

1. Vision and direction

• Articulate a clear vision for the organisation’s campaigning; lead the organisation and the team to implement this vision and help deliver an increase in the scale and impact of WaterAid’s global influence to accelerate progress towards SDG6;

2. Global Campaign Plans

• Lead the design and implementation of WaterAid’s priority global campaigns to maximise WaterAid’s influence on global and national political debates, working in partnership with senior leaders across the organisation.
• In partnership with the Global Policy and Advocacy Director, ensure WaterAid’s campaigns and advocacy are rooted in robust evidence and credible policy analysis;
• In partnership with WaterAid’s International Affairs Director, work to strategically influence and position the organisation’s key campaign agendas in international and multilateral fora.
• In partnership with WaterAid’s senior leaders, support the development and implementation of national level campaign plans, to deliver policy and practice change in key countries, and identify opportunities to bridge between national and global campaign agendas;
• Lead the design and delivery of WaterAid’s public campaigning efforts, working with colleagues to develop the campaign creative, tactics, and public mobilisation plans.
• Work with communication colleagues to develop campaign messaging and branding.

3. Global coalition development

• Strategically position WaterAid within global civil society networks, balance leadership with support for wider movements, and identify opportunities to work with allies and influence decision makers; including utilising high level WaterAid representatives from across the Federation;
• Support regional teams to position WaterAid strategically in regional networks;

4. Communications and representation

• Strategically position WaterAid at key external events, including being able to build networks and alliances through effective public speaking, news media and social media presence; utilising high level WaterAid representatives from across the federation as appropriate.

5. Leadership and management

• As a member of the Department’s Senior Management Team, take shared responsibility for shaping both the department and WaterAid’s strategic global campaigns approach, championing a matrix style of working with teams and colleagues around the world;
• Work in partnership with the Global Director of Policy and the Global Director of International Affairs to maximise the synergies between the Policy, Campaigns and International Affairs teams, encourage a team culture of strategic collaboration and ways of working that foster the breaking down of silos; 
• Line manage the two Head of Campaigns; lead the team effectively, with a strong focus on individual performance management, team cohesion and integration within both the department and the wider organisation, in accordance with the core values of WaterAid;

About You:

• A proven track record of leading successful international campaigning and advocacy initiatives, including through influencing institutions and governments, mobilising constituencies and achieving ambitious political change;
• Proven experience of mobilising the public on SDG thematic areas.
• A keen political ‘savviness’ and an awareness of the potential for achieving political change primarily, with a demonstrated track record of both insider and outsider approaches and sophisticated understanding of when and how to apply them;
• A strategic and innovative thinker with the ability to deliver tangible results. Someone who embraces complexity and uncertainty;
• A creative force, with an understanding of how to turn a strategy into a campaign.
• Experience of leading, managing and motivating others and driving change;
• The ability and credibility to represent WaterAid at senior levels and to communicate with a range of audiences, including the media, conference audiences and the general public;
• Proven experience of networking and communicating with NGOs, government officials and politicians, working with partners in Africa and/or South and South-East Asia;
• Experience working in a developing country context;

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Relevant language skills other than English (French, Spanish or Portuguese)..

The Role

With proven skills and experience of using IT, excel and databases related to administrative tasks to support the wider organisation.
