We also deliver a variety of funded initiatives that support health and wellbeing and employment and skills. We operate across four themes: Engaging Residents, Supporting Health and Wellbeing, Helping Groups, and Employment and Skills.
We are looking for a HR manager who shares our passion for supporting the community to join our team. This will be a new role to the organisation and will play a vital part in supporting the organisation to deliver the wide variety of services the charity manages. Working closely with the CEO and senior management the role will provide day-to-day support while also addressing the longer-term ambitions of the organisation.
Skills and Qualities
Essential:
- Chartered CIPD membership and / or postgraduate qualification in either Human Resources Management or Employment Law, or working towards these qualifications
- Generalist HR experience and a good working knowledge of HR systems
- Experience at recruitment interviewing and assessment, including at a senior level
- First-hand experience of providing HR support for organisational change
- Experience of writing and implementing employment policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office package
- Ability to plan, prioritise and delegate and to work closely within a busy team / able to work independently and confidentially
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Ability to deal professionally, tactfully and confidently with people at all levels, both internal and external audiences
- Good working knowledge of relevant legislative framework and HR best practice, including equality, employment, immigration and data protection
Desirable:
- Education to degree level
- Experience in a HR role within private sector and / or ”not for profit” organisations employing at least 50 people
- Previous experience of designing and delivering HR training/briefings for managers
- Experience of managing budgets
- Understanding the issues inherent in operating within a geographically dispersed organisation
- Interest in current community and/or environmental issues

Responsibilities
- Contribute to laying the foundations for a new Young Lives (YL) Research Hub on Climate Change and Environmental Shocks.
- Support the Deputy Director to deliver the YL Policy Influencing Strategy and key research-to-policy outputs across the YL programme, including key messages, policy briefs, impact case studies, blogs and other policy focused materials relating to YL research themes. Key themes include education and skills, employment, health & wellbeing and family lives, with a specific focus on the crosscutting impacts of climate change and environmental shocks, poverty and inequalities.
- Track and analyse international and national policy debates, with a specific focus on the impact of poverty, inequalities and climate change on young people in low- and middle-income (LMICs) countries, including the disproportionate effects on girls and women.
- Proactively engage and build relationships with key international policy stakeholders working on the impacts of poverty, inequalities and climate change in LMICs, including policy influencers and practitioners (e.g. governments, donors and civil society), research-to-policy networks and researchers.
- Work closely with the Deputy Director and YL Country Directors to identify opportunities to influence policy debates both internationally and in the four study countries and provide technical support in developing research-to-policy engagement plans.
- Work closely with the YL Head of Communications to ensure research findings and related policy implications are effectively disseminated for maximum impact, including through website and social media, webinars, conferences, policy events and meetings to encourage the maximum uptake and impact of Young Lives evidence. Represent Young Lives at external events and meetings where necessary.
- Provide support to the Young Lives Director and Deputy Director in the development of fundraising proposals and submission of grant applications to generate future Young Lives research income.

About the role
The Program Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of NTD projects in Benin. This position is responsible for managing projects within budget and on schedule, collaborating closely with partners to meet agreed timelines and project documentation requirements. Your expertise will help drive impactful change and support the elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases in the region.
Principle Accountabilities
- Assist staff seconded to government to manage effective implementation of planned activities, including adherence to timelines and coordinating review and feedback from technical teams.
- Monitor programme activities against project goals and donor commitments, identify operational bottlenecks or weaknesses, and work collaboratively with country-based and global teams to achieve exceptional results on aggressive timelines.
- Provide direct support to surveillance and analytics work streams, including the formulation and conducting of high-quality epidemiological analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of current interventions, understand disease patterns, and inform strategic planning related to neglected tropical diseases.

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration for its own estate. For this reason CCT has been contracted to deliver a programme of work for Historic Chapels Trust (HCT). HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*. Key to the project is management of the assets, funded by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) through their Cultural Assets Fund (CAF).
As a member of CCT’s national Conservation team you will be the main point of contact for all chapel maintenance related issues, liaising closely with contractors, local groups and volunteers. Alongside the Conservation Projects Manager for Chapels you will deliver the maintenance programme, including regulatory and legal compliance, as well as deal with utilities and insurance of chapels. 10 of the chapels are in our North region, 6 in our West region and 4 are in our South East region.
You will have previous experience in the field of historic buildings maintenance, repair or property management. You will be an effective communicator, be able to plan and deliver your own workload and also work as part of a team. As you’ll be working at chapels throughout England it is essential you have a full driving licence.

Job Purpose
· To deliver an exciting, new programme implementing a whole school approach (WSA) to food nurseries, primaries, secondaries and SEN schools in Southwark.
Key Tasks include:
- Support Project Coordinator to group schools and nurseries using a RAG rating, based on level of support required to achieve a WSA to food
· Recruit schools to take part in the programme

But what brings us together is a shared commitment to ending corporate impunity for human rights abuses and environmental destruction: in line with this, collaborative work for change alongside our partners is at the heart of all we do.
We’re at a crucial point in a campaign which spans advocacy, public communications and engagement with businesses, and seeks to ensure the implementation of a ‘Business, Human Rights and Environment Act’ in the UK. This legislation would help end corporate abuses of human rights and the environment, and make it easier for victims to access justice. At an exciting juncture for the campaign, the successful applicant will play a central role in shaping it and driving it forward, working alongside our civil society partners to do so.
