We are recruiting a Volunteering Manager to develop PAPYRUS’ volunteering offer, embedding a culture of best practice volunteering across the organisation.

· Design and embed a Volunteering Strategy for the organisation, raising our profile and making PAPYRUS a great choice for those who wish to volunteer.

· Ensure effective volunteer recruitment, training, and employee and volunteer engagement, working closely with the People and Culture Department to develop a culture of best practice.

· Drive the effective performance of the Volunteering department.

· Volunteer Management qualification or equivalent experience

Area Manager – Scotland

We are seeking up to 6 individuals in casual roles to be deployed as Designated Safeguarding & Welfare Leads with England Women's Development Teams (U15's-U19's) in fixtures, training camps and tournaments both in the UK and abroad. As such these roles will involve UK and International travel, which at times, could be for a few weeks in succession.

Each role is an extension of The FA's Strategic Safeguarding Team. Individuals will be deployed to a specific age group and will be the first point of contact for the duration of an England Camp or Event environment for staff and players regarding safeguarding matters. The role will also be involved pre and post camp in preparation and review phases.

The role will work both proactively to mitigate against safeguarding risks and lead the response in a camp/event environment where concerns about welfare, poor practice or child/adult abuse are identified.

Roles will be deployed across the following England Women's Teams camps and events:

1. U15's - c17 days on camp plus up to 6 days pre/post camp work = c23 days across 3 camps in October 2024, March & May 2025.
2. U16's - c30 days on camp plus up to 8 days pre/post camp work = c38 days across 4 camps in October 2024, February, April & July 2025.
3. U17's - c66 days on camp plus up to 14 days pre/post camp work = c80 days across 7 camps September, October, November, December 2024 and February, March, April and May 2025
4. U17's Specific event - c 34 days on camp plus up to 8 days pre/post camp work = c42s days involving c8 days across 2 camps August and September 2024 and up to c28 days across October into Early November 2024.
5. U19's -c74 days on camp plus up to 16 days pre/post camp work = c90 days across 8 camps October, Nov-Dec 2024, February, April, June and July 2025.
6. In addition, we wish to recruit one additional person to act as a 'casual staff bank role' who has the flexibility to cover a camp/event, sometimes at short notice, in the event of illness etc

Note: Due to the level of flexibility and experience required for these roles, we are particularly interested in applications from people;

• in existing flexible roles with safeguarding and welfare remits, or who are retired;
• with experience from teaching, youth work or similar

The number of days stipulated are approximate and are subject to change depending on schedules and progression through tournaments. Post holders would be contracted on a day rate, initially until 31 July 2025, with anticipated deployment in line with the above to an age group.

There will be an expectation to attend St. George's Park, nr. Burton upon Trent, as part of the induction process and occasional meetings thereafter.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Understand, promote and implement The FA's Safeguarding Policies, England Safer Working Practice Guidance and event specific Safeguarding Plan and Risk Assessment.
• Lead the in-camp response to safeguarding and welfare issues (including low level concerns), escalating serious matters internally with The FA and where relevant to statutory agencies and stakeholders. Work collaboratively with Tournament Safeguarding Leads in ensuring a safe environment.
• Lead the Camp Welfare Group - Ensure the Group meet as required throughout a camp and that issues are addressed as far as possible whilst on an event. Utilise the Group effectively, to support the response to safeguarding and welfare issues.
• Ensure all safeguarding/welfare concerns and incidents are responded to, reported and recorded using internal FA processes and systems. Support and advise colleagues on safeguarding matters and incidents.
• Support colleagues to understand their safeguarding responsibilities and ensure practice matters are raised and addressed as appropriate, escalating serious concerns in a timely manner e.g., allegation involving a member of staff. Work closely with Women's Teams Safeguarding Oversight Lead and Senior Safeguarding Manager - England Teams and FA Venues to ensure that safeguarding concerns are responded to appropriately.
• Deliver pre-agreed safeguarding briefings and training to staff and players on camp, drawing on your expertise, experience and enthusiasm to ensure these sessions are engaging and are contextually relevant.
• Foster positive, supportive relationships with players, collaborate with colleagues in particular with the Strategic Safeguarding Team, psychology, medical and education & lifestyle leads, to ensure that appropriate support plans are in place, including managing matters relating to child protection plans, education, health & care plans (EHCP's) and that welfare and behaviour management needs are supported and that key messages are relayed to education providers/clubs as appropriate. Ensure that players are signposted as required to services and sources of support as relevant.
• Work with the Head Coach and Team Manager to ensure that any activities, including excursions developed on camp are risk assessed effectively, with relevant mitigations implemented.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to supervise players and support effective behaviour management.
• Contribute to event planning and review by participating in MDT calls as required.
• Produce a post camp/event report, highlighting areas of good practice, ensuring development areas are identified with clear actions, and participate in safeguarding quality assurance and data analysis reviews.
• Contribute to the wider work of the safeguarding team, including supporting safeguarding planning and risk assessments for events and complaint management as required.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
• As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What Will You Need?

Essentially for the role:

Knowledge

• A professional safeguarding qualification and/or significant relevant experience in a safeguarding and or welfare role in education, youth work or similar environment.
• Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation, policy and implementation.
• Understanding of current issues that impact on the development of elite young players/athletes, particularly females in these environments.
• A sound working knowledge of data protection, information sharing and confidentiality, principles and practice.
• Sound knowledge of equality legislation and inclusive practices as they relate to safeguarding and additional vulnerability.

Experience

• Experience of implementing safeguarding policy and safer working practice guidance.
• Experience of making referrals to statutory organisations.
• Experience of risk and crisis management.
• Experience of delivering safeguarding training and CPD with staff in sport environments.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with young people and collaborating effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting.

Technical Skills

• Ability to deliver safeguarding training and briefings to a wide range of staff and players in a way that is accessible and age appropriate.
• Proficient reporting writing skills.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication, management, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Willingness to work flexibly with extensive travel with national teams for extended durations.

The FA, For All, For You

Youth Realities is an award-winning specialist charity supporting young survivors of abuse and violence aged 11-25, operating as one of the only services in the UK exclusively addressing adolescent relationship abuse through prevention, intervention and healing. 

The Senior IDVA is a critical role that will sit within the wider IDVA team, managing a caseload of medium-high risk young women and girls (maxium seven at any one time), whilst holding leadership capacities as the charities Designated Safeguard Lead, overseeing IDVA case reviews and referrals into the service. 

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

1:1 SUPPORT
Youth Realities provides specialist 1:1 Support and Advocacy, delivered by a team of trained IDVAs, to young women, girls, non-binary and trans young women aged between 11-25. Young people engaged will present with a range of needs including experiences of intimate partner and relationship abuse, sexual violence/ abuse, criminal and sexual exploitation and other forms of intra and extra-familial harm.

IDVAs will engage young people in regular weekly, fortnightly or adhoc support including immediate crisis intervention, harm reduction, emotional wellbeing and long-term practical development. The support is offered for up to 18 months and young people can remain engaged with the charity beyond this point via various community activities. 

Each IDVA supports up to 10 young people at any one time, and support can be delivered from a place of safety, including: Youth Realities community space (Barnet, NW9), other community locations (cafes, community centres), places of education or when deemed safe and necessary, the home of the young person. 

As Senior IDVA and DSL, this role includes direct delivery and caseload safeguarding oversight, and capacity is restricted to an individual caseload of 7 young people at any one time.

YOUR ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Caseload management
To engage up to 7 young people in specialist, targeted 1:1 IDVA support to address existing or previous experiences of violence or abuse. This includes relationship building, session coordination, advocacy within required spaces such as education, health and justice, and completing robust safety plans, risk and need assessments as required.

Safeguarding
It is the responsibility of each IDVA to manage and be accountable for the individual safeguarding of those they are supporting, and it is expected that each IDVA will operate within all outlined guidance and policies set by Youth Realities when doing this. As Designated Safeguard Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and making the final decisions on all escalated safeguarding concerns, including: responses to immediate or imminent harm that exceed the remit or specialisms of individual IDVAs, making recommendations and final decisions of external safeguarding referrals, i.e to MASH or MARAC, if this is required, and supporting with the establishment of Individual Risk Assessments where needed. 

You will be required to meet weekly with each individual IDVA, for a recommended time of 30 minutes, to discuss any updates to each case, including reviewing outstanding actions, checking the status of Individual Risk Assessments and Safety Plans each IDVA is responsible for establishing, and making decisions on case closures. 

You will be required to represent Youth Realities as DSL in external conferences, meetings and events, such as VAWG Forums, Safeguarding Children Partnerships and Vulnerable Adolescent Risk Panels, as capacity permits. 

You will be required to be available, whether in person or via phone, during the time of session delivery in case there is a safeguarding issue to address. This responsibility will be shared with the Deputy Safeguard Lead (DDSL) during periods of absence (annual leave, sickness etc.). 

You will be requested to give feedback on policies, structures and processes regarding safeguarding in an advisory capacity, though will not hold responsibility for the establishment of such documentation.

Referrals
You will be the first point of contact for all referral agencies into the charity, and will be responsible for processing and allocating referrals into the 1:1 programme as and when they are received. We are seeking 2 individuals in casual roles as Women's Teams Safeguarding & Welfare Oversight Leads.

These casual roles will work flexibly for up to 130 days per season, based primarily at St. Georges Park (nr. Burton Upon Trent). Working as an extension of The FA's Strategic Safeguarding Team, the roles will support the Senior Safeguarding Manager to embed Safeguarding across the Women's Technical Division.

Each role will oversee approx. 3 casual Designated Safeguarding and Welfare Leads (DSWL), ensuring that all England Women's Development Team events and camps are allocated a DSWL.

Note: Due to the level of flexibility and experience required for these roles, we are particularly interested in applications from people;

• in existing flexible roles with safeguarding and welfare remits or who are retired;
• with experience from teaching, youth work or specific safeguarding roles.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Oversee the work of a small team of Casual Designated Safeguarding and Welfare Leads (DSWL), ensuring all England Women's Development Team events and camps have a Designated Lead deployed to the event. Be the primary point of contact to support the DSWL in their roles during deployment.
• Provide coverage as a DSWL for those camps & events where a DSWL may become unavailable, sometimes at short notice.
• Carry out Safeguarding Plans and Risk Assessment for England Women's camps and events and provide support to the pre-event recce process, where necessary.
• Provide advice and guidance to England Women's Teams with regards to safeguarding matters, including with regards to understanding and compliance with England Women's Safeguarding Policies and Safer Working Practice Guidance.
• Deliver safeguarding briefings, training and workshops to staff, players and parents/carers across England Women's Development Teams, via both in person and virtual classroom mechanisms. Refine associated contextualised resources to support understanding and learning.
• Attend relevant pre-event planning and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, including tournament working groups, providing safeguarding input to these processes.
• Cover the Safeguarding Duty Line (out of hours phone support) for England teams, in the absence of the Senior Safeguarding Manager.
• Support the Senior Safeguarding Manager in ensuring that all safeguarding/welfare concerns and incidents are responded to, reported and recorded using internal FA processes and systems. Support and advise colleagues on safeguarding matters and incidents.
• Support colleagues to understand their safeguarding responsibilities and ensure practice matters are raised and addressed as appropriate, escalating serious concerns in a timely manner e.g., allegation involving a member of staff, in line with FA Policy and Procedures.
• Be a point of contact for Clubs and other organisations across the player pathway, including Education Providers, to discuss matters which relate to the individual needs or safeguarding requirements of players. Work with Team Operations and the Player Education and Lifestyle Lead, with regards to liaison with players parents/carers regards safeguarding needs/requirements, including managing matters relating to child protection plans, education, health & care plans (EHCP's) and that welfare and behaviour management needs are supported, with joined-up plans in place for event delivery.
• Review post camp/event reports from DSWL's, highlighting areas of good practice, ensuring development areas are identified with clear actions, and agree follow up on those actions with the Senior Safeguarding Manager and Women's Technical colleagues.
• Support the recruitment, induction, onboarding and retention of DSWL's, ensuring they are supported in their role and are orientated to their responsibilities.
• Support the Senior Safeguarding Manager in completing a programme of camp and event Quality Assurance Visits, this will at times, involve travel both within the UK and abroad, for extended periods of time.
• Contribute to the wider work of the Strategic Safeguarding Team, including revising resources, attending/contributing to meetings, supporting safeguarding planning and risk assessments for events and complaint management as required.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.

As a trusted member of our senior leadership team you will be driving impact for the more than 4,000 people we work with each year by:

• developing and implementing service strategies and plans
• acting as the designated safeguarding lead
• driving equity, diversity, and inclusion internally, and in the way we deliver our work

• representing CAAS externally

The role will be based in our office in Eastcote for 3 days per week, with the possibility for home working for the remainder of the time.

Salary £50k FTE.  Note the salary listed is a full time equivalent salary based on 35hrs per week, so actual salary will vary depending on hours agreed.

Hours: Part time 28hours per week. Potential for full time if additional facilitation or training work is taken on.

Terms: Permanent role

Job Summary

CAAS provide an ADHD and Autism Support Service for the 8 boroughs of NW London, from our base in Eastcote, with a team of Support Workers. Our work includes offering information, advice, and support to ADHD / autistic people, their families, and professionals in NW London, with the aim of improving quality of life and developing neurodiverse-aware communities. Some of the support is offered through one2one meetings, some of the support is provided through groups and courses which aim to increase understanding and awareness, and provide opportunities for peer support, and some of the support is offered through training and workshops to educate professionals and drive for accommodations to be made to services to allow greater access for our client group.

As Director of Services, you will work closely with the CEO, leading on the management of the Adult Services, Youth Services and Family Services workstreams within the charity, ensuring the high quality service provision for which we are known. The role sits within the senior leadership team at CAAS, alongside the Finance Director, and manages the Youth Services Manager, the Family Services Manager and the Adult Services Manager, who in turn manage around 20 staff between them.

The Director of Services provides a crucial role in ensuring the infrastructure and operational workings of the charity are effective for the more than 30 staff we employ, and the more than 11,000 instances of support we provide each year. Therefore, we are looking for a capable, calm, self-motivated, organised and hard-working Services professional who has worked in a management role directly responsible for service delivery in another charity.

The role requires strong organisation skills, excellent communication and relationship building skills, significant experience of operational service delivery, team leadership experience, the ability to articulate and drive our impact, and a good understanding of fundraising and monitoring requirements in a medium sized charity. Ultimately you will have the drive to ensure that everyone who works for us, and everyone who seeks support from us, has the best possible experience.

There is no requirement for any experience of delivering services that support ADHD / autistic individuals, as we will provide training, but it would be helpful to have a good understanding of the conditions, and the strengths and challenges they may bring. A genuine acceptance of diversity and a keenness to make an impact are essential.

Key Responsibilities – Strategic and Organisational

· To lead in the development and implementation of CAAS strategy in our work with service users, ensuring that all our services have a thoughtful strategic underpinning, and a measurable and significant positive impact for our clients. Represent the needs of our clients in strategic and planning decisions.

· To work with the CEO to understand the organisational risks facing the charity within the service provision it provides, and to develop and implement the necessary mitigations

· To be the designated safeguarding lead in the charity and ensure our safeguarding procedures, practices and policies are fit for purpose.

· Develop, review, and communicate safeguarding and client risk management policies, procedures and controls, and ensure mitigations and improvement plans are in place for any control weaknesses identified.

· Own our organisational equity, diversity and inclusion policy and practice, and ensure it is truly embedded within our organisation so that we can extend our reach to include those under-served clients who may not always have been able to access our services. · Prepare and present service department reports and reviews for the Board of Trustees, and build up effective relationships with the Board so that our services and the client whom we serve have a ‘voice’ in Board meetings.

Key Responsibilities – Impact

· To work collaboratively with the CEO to develop and deliver clear methods of measuring the impact of services, and an appropriate Theory of Change model for our work, and use this information to continuously improve and articulate our service development.

· To develop and monitor a framework of key performance indicator targets and standards, to ensure all service managers are able to effectively appraise and improve where appropriate the service standards within their division.

· Evaluate the operational dashboards and reporting mechanisms to ensure trends are quickly identified and necessary changes put in place.

· To work with the communications team to maximize opportunities to ensure our services reach as many people as possible, as efficiently as possible and in a way that is appropriate within our branding guidelines.

· To provide impact data such that we can demonstrate to a wide audience the quality of the work that we perform, and the lasting impact that we have on those we reach

· Lead the Services Department in ensuring all projects are clearly documented, managed, reviewed and evaluated, and ensure a rolling programme of self-assessment and improvement is in place.

Key Responsibilities – Operational Management

· Manage the provision of high-quality services, in accordance with funder requirements and service specifications by leading and managing the Service Managers and by providing the necessary support and development in their roles. To be responsible for the support, management and development of all service staff, volunteers and freelancers.

· To support the Service Managers and the Head of Client Programmes with the planning and mobilisation of projects and contracts, ensuring services are delivered in line with funder requirements and timings. Have a willingness to ‘get into the detail’ as well as to provide more strategic leadership and direction within the delivery teams.

· Ensure overall service management across the different teams is complimentary and effective, that clients are triaged appropriately throughout the different service offer, that there are appropriate routes for clients to move through the different services, and that best practice is shared, and learnings incorporated right across our work.

· To ensure services are accessible to our clients, that projects are begun, maintained or stopped in a planned and thoughtful manner, and that the services we provide offer the very best support that is possible for our clients, taking into consideration latest research and understanding about the conditions, and about the people we wish to reach.

· To have specific responsibility for the risk management within services, for both clients and for projects. To review risk assessments, and ensure appropriate mitigations are developed and actioned.

· Participate in the recruitment and induction of all new services staff, and ensure that all service staff receive appropriate professional development plans and performance targets

· Ensure services staff and volunteers are focused on achieving CAAS’ mission, values and aims, and have the appropriate skills and management in order to deliver effective, efficient services.

· Work with the SLT to develop sustainable business models for the delivery of our services, and drive process improvements and efficiencies. Work with the Head of Client Programmes to develop our commercial trading services, ensuring a growth strategy that is profitable.

· Provide the management group with service quality and evaluation information to support them in planning their resource allocations, project delivery approach and funding requirements etc to ensure continuous development of improved practice.

Key Responsibilities - Financial

• To work collaboratively with the Finance Director, to support the development and use of effective management information systems, ensuring that all our services capture and report relevant monitoring data consistently and accurately.

• To have overall accountability for the service department budgets, to ensure CAAS works within agreed financial constraints, making best use of the funds available to us, including compliance with the financial reporting requirements to funders

• To support with financial planning, to ensure the continuation of our core programmes, and revise plans when financial targets require.

• To work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues, to identify new funding opportunities, and to develop new fundraising proposals and funding bids, which support and advance the work of the charity over the longer term.

• To write funding reports and outcome analyses, and prepare for and attend funding review and monitoring meetings.

• To understand the funding requirements of all projects, and ensure projects happen on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities - Relationship Building

• To represent CAAS on key bodies and groups externally, ensuring that CAAS position and views are clearly and professionally provided in the best interests of our service users

• To establish and maintain effective working relationships both inside and outside the charity, particularly with health and social care agencies, to enhance the presence of the charity within the local delivery offer.

JOB DESCRIPTION  

INCOME GENERATION 

• Support the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications on the implementation of the fundraising strategy, in line with changing landscape with a core focus on corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, company giving and general appeals; 

• Collaborate on ideas for creative sponsorship and funding opportunities in line with our strategic ambitions and develop and submit high quality and compelling funding proposals and tender documents to unlock funding;  

• Work with key stakeholders, including our Policy and Programme delivery teams to scope and develop exciting new project proposals; 

• Develop and grow the pipeline, identifying opportunities for funding from a range of sources, primarily corporate partners but also engaging, trusts & foundations and statutory sources. 

• Maintain an effective database of contacts and stakeholders. 

  PARTNERSHIPS MANAGEMENT 

• Support the management of existing donor relationships through working closely with the Director of Programmes & Partnerships and Programme Management Teams across the organisation;

Who will I be changing the lives of?

All of our learners are aged between 16-25 years, have some level of additional need and as a result have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).  Some of the most common areas of need that our learners experience are Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH), Autism (ASC), ADHD although we work with learners with a much broader range of needs.

• To be responsible for a caseload of learners with EHCP's aged 16-25 years
• To act as the main point of contact for staff and services with SEND related queries
• To arrange and carry out Annual Reviews and PEP’s as well as completion and submission of all relevant paperwork, acting as chair for these meetings when required
• To assist the Change Leader with the transition process for learners starting at Really NEET as well as those learners leaving Really NEET
• Responsible for over-seeing the progression of learners on completion of the course

Operational Management:

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively

HR Management:

• Work with the CEO/Engagement Manager to ensure that Appeer CIC fulfils its duties and responsibilities associated with internal and external contracts and agreements

• Act as Appeer’s Data Controller for GDPR purposes

• Maintain the organisation’s Risk Register and coordinate a formal quarterly review  and report to the CEO

• Maintain accurate records and ensure robust reporting mechanisms are in place

• Act as the channel of communication with Appeer’s insurers and, legal advisers when issues arise, keeping the CEO and Board informed as necessary

Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing.   Over the past 5 years our founder and current CEO has taken the vision of creating a community where autistic girls and women can connect from a small, passionate team into a robust and impactful organisation.

We provide  In Person and Online Activity groups and programmes, Alternative Provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision.

The role offers flexible, hybrid working with a requirement to be in our Eastleigh, Hampshire office two days a week (Tuesday is an essential day). A successful candidate would need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and our teams throughout our programme areas on a regular basis, depending on service needs.

Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is also needed.

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Role Summary

How this role fits into the vision and objectives of Causeway

The Lived Experience Engagement & Partnership Lead is an exciting new role that will generate opportunities for our service users to be recognised as lived experience experts and influence the ways that Causeway and our external partners work and respond to issues relating to modern slavery and crime reduction.

The role will create and manage platforms and pathways for our service users to develop their skills and engage with opportunities to feed into internal and external programme design and evaluation, be part of advisory panels or forums and external communications.

The role will also coordinate Causeway’s engagement with external stakeholders. It will seek to coordinate approaches in collaboration with those directly delivering or accessing our services. It will also look to engage decision makers and commissioners with the goal of improving the resourcing and policy environment our service operates within and improve outcomes for service users.

Part of Causeway’s vision is to contribute to a society that hears and values the voices of the vulnerable and marginalised. This new role is a great opportunity to actively work towards this, helping to build a platform for survivor voices to be heard and influence decision makers.

Contract

The post holder will lead their team to examine what data is useful today and in the future and how it is collected and presented. This will include responsibility for building an understanding of audiences and holding oversight of the insight work done across the group.
