Our Activity Service
The Activity Service is an important part of our organisation, delivering high quality activities to the older people of Merton. Our Activity team create and deliver a wide range of activities including a daily lunch club, crafting, poetry, singing and exercises at our centre in Mitcham and other locations across the borough of Merton.
The Activity service is busy and vibrant where no two days are the same, the service has over 10,000 attendees a year, taking part in over 700 activities and exercise classes. The service enables our community to live more healthily, happily and independently in later life.
About the Role
We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to support the Activity Service Manager in the delivery and development of the Activity service.
The Activities Coordinator will be a hands-on role, working with the team who deliver a wide range of activities both existing and new at our centre and across the borough of Merton.
The role will deputise for the Activities Service manager and has line manager responsibilities overseeing both the team and the delivery of activities. This role will work closely with the volunteers who support the service, building on the current volunteer programme to develop the volunteer role and experience.
The role will play a key part in organising the delivery of existing activities, ensuring they are delivered to an exceptional standard with the service users at the heart of the service.
About You
You are an enthusiastic, motivated and organised person who has experience of supervising a team of staff or volunteers, you have excellent people skills and are looking for a role where real impact is made. Your approach to problems is with a positive outlook and a can-do attitude, you are ready to get involved in the delivery of the service, leading by example and spending time connecting and supporting the clients who attend the activities.
Experience of supporting older people in a health and social care function is not essential but desirable. What is important is your ability to lead and work as part of a team, using your initiative, being flexible and collaborative across the team at Age UK Merton. Based at: Elmwood Centre in Mitcham and various locations across Merton. This role requires the delivery of activities in person at our centre.

Age UK Merton supports over 3,000 older people a year, our mission is to provide quality advice and services that meet the needs of older adults in Merton.

Key Result areas
· Innovate, develop, and deliver a wide range of new and existing activities for service users.
· Encourage clients to attend and participate in a range of activities
· Welcome all clients who attend the activity centre and enable them to engage in activities.
· Deputizing for the Activity Centre Manager.
· Create and collate feedback from service users.
· Identify and develop existing volunteer roles within the Activity Service.
· Work collaboratively with other Age UK Merton Services and teams to provide help and advice to clients who are identified as needing additional support.
· Building strong collaborative relationships with external partners who deliver exercise classes.
Organisation and Coordination of Activities
· To organise the delivery of all activities and exercise classes in the centre.
· To be actively involved in the ongoing development and design new activities held across the borough.
· To support the planning and development of Age UK Merton’s quarterly activity guide to include all events at Age UK Merton.
· To plan and coordinate the distribution of the activity guide across the borough with out team of volunteers.
· To encourage the attendance of activities to new and existing clients.
Volunteers
· Working with the Volunteer Service develop the volunteer programme to deliver an impactful and supportive experience for all the volunteers who support the Activity team.
· Coordinate and organise the team of volunteers who support the Activity service.
Administrative Duties
· Introduce new ways to pay for activities such as online bookings.
· Take bookings for all activities and input details on to the CRM.
· Answer telephone enquiries for the Activity centre.
· Greet all clients and volunteers attending the Activity centre.
Data Capture, Evaluation and Reporting.
· Respond to feedback and suggestions from clients to develop activities.
· Keep records up to date on the CRM for attendees of all activities.
· Working with the Activity Service Manager to expand the delivery of activities into areas of the borough not currently served.
· Working with the Activity Manager to develop client feedback opportunities.
· Support the Activity Manager to identify and write up case studies for funding applications.
· Use the CRM to run reports to support funding bids and reporting.
General
· Establish good working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and liaise as required Comply at all times with the policies and procedures of Age UK Merton.
· Ensure that Age UK Merton’s Equal Opportunities policies, principles and practices are observed and implemented throughout service delivery.
· Carry out any other relevant tasks as required, to ensure the effective development of the organisation and the delivery of its services, this may include supporting weekend and out of hours events for time off in lieu.

About this vital role
Our successful candidate’s focus will be to provide operational management support across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales. This will see you provide leadership and operational management support in debt and welfare benefits to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs), Team Leaders and Administration team employed in the delivery of the contracts, and to plan and support the day-to-day workload for the team and setting performance objectives with the team and monitor progress.
You will also be expected to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance to ensure compliance with policy and procedures and to manage partnerships including local and national delivery partners and any agencies with whom we are developing referral arrangements. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with local Wales Probation managers and staff and other external stakeholders is an essential part of this role, as is providing regular reports in a range of formats to the Service Manager and monitoring use of the Customer Approved Database including regular reports on usage to ensure accuracy and timeliness of inputting by teams.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working in or managing services supporting challenging people
- Experience in working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives and outcomes
- Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice from an accredited training provider
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload
- Wide range of money advice knowledge, budgeting, dealing with priority and non-priority debts, County Court/High Court options, insolvency options and welfare benefits
- Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance in a team
- Strong IT, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

The Avenues Youth Project is recruiting a part-time HR Manager who will work to manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle across our youth centre. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment

In conjunction with HR provider, Neathouse, conduct regular reviews of employment policies and the Employee Handbook to ensure compliance and best practice. Communicate any changes to the workforce as needed.
Champion EDI across the organisation and ensure that EDI is embedded in all people related processes across the organisation.
In the event of conflict, to support both the employee and line manager by ensuring there is a process for dispute resolution that is legally compliant, and to help identify solutions.
Review and implement a plan to ensure compliance with the Worker Protection Act, to ensure that Avenues meet requirements and can demonstrate ongoing compliance.

About the Role:

Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)
Responsible to: Senior Support Worker
Responsible for: Young people living in the accommodation (4 young people aged 16 – 18 years old seeking asylum in the UK).
Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.
Hours: 25 hours per week on duty – this is a mixture of day, evening and weekend shifts. Two days a week will be off duty.

CAAS provide an ADHD and Autism Support Service for the 8 boroughs of NW London, from our base in Eastcote, with a team of Support Workers. Our work includes offering information, advice, and support to ADHD / autistic people, their families, and professionals in NW London, with the aim of improving quality of life and developing neurodiverse-aware communities. Some of the support is offered through one2one meetings, some of the support is provided through groups and courses which aim to increase understanding and awareness, and provide opportunities for peer support, and some of the support is offered through training and workshops to educate professionals and drive for accommodations to be made to services to allow greater access for our client group.
The Family Team Lead will assist the Family Service Manager in overseeing the operational running and leadership and management of our Family Team at our centre in Eastcote.
The Family Team Lead will be responsible for the line management of some of our Family Support Workers, as well as the direct delivery of services, including being the lead facilitator on some of our parenting courses. As such, we are looking for a friendly, organised and hard-working individual. The role requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication skills and a drive to ensure everyone who seeks support from us has the best possible experience. Your role will involve using your skills to deliver valuable insights through effective information gathering, detailed analysis, and comprehensive reporting. You will work on both routine and ad-hoc projects, supporting the team in responding to major events within the fire and rescue sector.
Key responsibilities of a Research & Insight Analyst:

Action for Conservation is a grassroots charity with a mission to bring the magic of nature into young people’s lives, inspiring a youth movement committed to conservation, restoration and to the Earth. We use pioneering approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. We're looking to appoint a Programme Coordinator based along the South East Coast to help us expand our work in the region and deliver our programmes for young people.

Hours: 35 hours per week. Regular evening and weekend work, including residential work, will be required. Time off in lieu (TOIL) can be taken for overtime worked.

About the role
As South East Programme Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering our core programmes in your region. Through your work, you will inspire and support young people to connect with nature in new and exciting ways and gain new environmental knowledge and skills, and will empower them to have a voice on environmental issues they care about and take action for nature.
You will plan and lead a wide range of sessions for and with young people indoors (including in schools), outdoors and online. You will also support young people to design and deliver environmental action projects that benefit nature and their local communities and create platforms for young people to share their voices and influence decision-making. You will look after all practical and administrative aspects of programme delivery as well as play a vital role in inspiring, empowering and supporting young people both during and outside of activities. You will also formally act as our Blue Mentor for the Blue Influencers Scheme, a match-funded programme for environmental youth social action, funded by The Ernest Cook Trust and the #iwill Fund.
This role sits across programme coordination and administration on one hand and programme delivery on the other. The proportion of each varies throughout the year, with a busy spring and summer season of activities leading into a quieter, desk-based autumn and winter season as we plan and get ready for the year ahead. In total across the year, you can expect to lead or support the delivery of four to six Ambassador events (usually day-long with a 2-day residential graduation), two 5-day residential summer camps, and around 25 (half-day) sessions at secondary schools or youth groups in your regional (plus additional sessions as needed to support your colleagues with their session delivery).
To be successful in the role, you will be highly organised, proactive, self-reliant and a skilled facilitator who can engage and build positive relationships with young people in a range of settings. You will have prior experience of delivering events and activities for and with young people and, ideally, relevant experience of programme coordination and administration.
Main duties
Support young people to engage in our programmes and learn about, connect with and take action for nature
- Recruit a diverse range of schools, youth groups and young people to take part in our programmes and act as Blue Influencers, with a particular focus on young people experiencing disadvantage and marginalisation.
- Create exciting content and educational materials for young people.
- Plan and deliver events and activities that help young people to connect with nature, develop their environmental knowledge and skills and take action in their communities, with a particular focus on coastal, marine and riverine environmental issues.
- Support and mentor young people to imagine, plan and deliver environmental action projects to tackle issues that are important to them, with a particular focus on projects that benefit blue spaces.
- Support young people to partner with local community organisations to embed their projects within the community and maximise learning, connection and impact.
- Lay the groundwork for our first coastal Intergenerational Action Site, bringing together young people, conservationists, local stakeholders and community members through our ‘gold standard’ approach to intergenerational nature restoration and decision-making.
Lead on programme coordination and support with safety, evaluation and communications
- Be responsible for the general coordination and manage the logistics to deliver our programmes in your region.
- Manage risk, health and safety and safeguarding during programme activities.
- Ensure Blue Influencer projects meet the Ernest Cook Trust’s and #iwill Fund’s funding criteria and are administered in line with the due diligence guidance.
- Support the evaluation of our programmes and report on outcomes.
- Help us to grow and manage our network of volunteers in your region.
- Share stories of the young people you work with and support young people to directly share their stories through social media, YouTube, blogs, articles, talks and other channels.
- Help us to expand our network of local community partners that are actively looking to engage more young people.
- Be an active member of the regional and national network of Blue Mentors.

Job Description
Working as a qualified Teacher within a Study Programme contract, you will deliver Functional Skills maths and English qualifications.
This will be from all Entry levels up to and including level 2, within our college site for students aged 16-18 years.
Main duties include:
- To lead on the production of schemes of work for the service delivery
- To prepare and develop innovative lesson plans, design and deliver group activities
- Deliver training to individual young people and groups following the programme curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement
- To diagnose learners literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements by using various teaching aids
- To liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcomes
- To provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress
