The Smart Works service is delivered in London, Manchester, Stockport, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle, Reading and Leeds. Over the past ten years, Smart Works has helped over 35,000 women. In April 2022, Smart Works launched a Three-Year Plan that will see the charity double the number of women helped annually from 5,000 to 10,000 women a year. We are on track to achieve this by expanding the reach of our existing centres and opening new centres in areas of need including Bristol; set to open in early 2025.
This role
As Smart Works moves into our next strategy phase, we are looking to strengthen our commitment to being led by data and using technology to enhance the service we provide. The Database Manager will play a key role in guiding this mission.
Smart Works is looking for an experienced and motivated database manager passionate about using data for good. This role will be crucial in managing and developing Smart Works' CRM systems that underpin the running of our key functions, ensuring data integrity, providing support to all users across the UK and enabling strong outcomes for the women we support. The post holder’s work will be essential in allowing staff across the charity to use data to improve our operations and outcomes for the women we support as we enter our new strategy cycle.
You will also play an important role in training and supporting staff across all Smart Works locations to use these systems, enabling them to harness the power of data in their day-to-day work. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff will be vital to the success of this role.
The role will be a hybrid position, based out of one our UK Smart Works centres. but the role will work across Smart Works, providing support and maintaining digital infrastructure across all the teams.
There may be occasional evening and weekend work as the successful candidate will be part of the wider centre team, supporting with networking and key events support. The post holder, if not based in London, will also be required to travel into London on occasion for training and team meetings.

The team works across all areas of the organisation to improve processes, unlock efficiencies through automation and generate insights from data. They ensure that data is utilised to inform any innovations or refinements to our services.
The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial manager with a high level of data literacy. We are looking for someone strategic, highly organised and a strong people and team manager. They will be confident at communicating data in a variety of ways to a large range of audiences, identifying key take-aways and the broader implications of the findings on our clients and programming. They will also be able to train others in key data analysis and communication skills.

The Youth Leadership Programme Manager will work on a nationally funded project developed in collaboration with local young people, NHS North East London, and the University of Hertfordshire. They will play a key role in supporting young people who live in the area, and the adults who work with them, to learn and work together to explore how participation can improve the health and wellbeing of local young people.
The role will manage our Young Advisors Team, supporting them to develop the skills, confidence and agency to play an active and equitable role within the project. The project will be guided by the values of co-production (being human, inclusive, transparent, and challenging) to ensure that all forms of experience are valued equally, and power imbalances addressed openly.
The post requires a high degree of flexibility around working days and hours as well as the ability to travel within North East London to support the meaningful involvement of young people in the project.

About the role:
We have a new opportunity for a highly organised individual to join our Housing Services Team, as a Housing Services & Income Administrator. With proven skills and experience of using IT and databases related to administrative tasks such as producing letters and reports with a clear focus on organisation skills, you will play an essential role with supporting the Housing Services team and Manager, and our supported accommodation teams.
In your role, you will be responsible for
- Maximising rental income and minimising loss through bad debts through efficient application SHP Procedures.
- Supporting the housing services team, and accommodation services teams to ensure that clients receive timely rent statement and letters.
- Maintaining effective management of accurate rent income records.
- Collating performance returns against KPI’s and provider monitoring returns.
The role will also require supporting the Senior Housing Services and Income Officers in dealing with repairs and building related matters, anti-social behaviour, complaints and neighbourhood disputes.
We are currently operating a blended working arrangement, that includes working from our Head Office in Kings Cross for a minimum of 3 days per week, as well as flexible occasional travel to our accommodation services across London. There is also some potential for home working, in agreement with the Head of Property Services.
The weekly working hours are 37.5 hrs, to be completed between 9am-5pm Mon- Fri, with occasional need to work outside of these times in the event of an emergency.

Purpose of Role
- To understand Ramblers’ audience behaviours by analysing customer data

Key responsibilities
- Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making.
- Working in collaboration with teams across the organisation (particularly Income and Marketing) to develop and implement data driven approaches to income generation with a particular focus on quantitative modelling and testing.
- Working with internal Digital and IT teams, ensure information flows between systems (Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, Marketing Cloud etc) in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure our supporters receive the best possible service and we have a full view of their activities when planning our own.
- Ensure our data insights platform provides volunteers with understandable and easy to use information for all aspects of administering their Area(s)/Group(s).

- Develop a robust and efficient audience segmenting and selection process for more complicated selections in a timely manner, considering appropriate targeting, efficient messaging, and other comms activity.

This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.
Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.
