Why Access Social Care Exists
Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.
What we do
Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need.
We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework.
This is an exciting time to join ASC. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have more than doubled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. About the role

We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Assistant to support the Head of Communications and Marketing at ASC. In this role, you will help to create, support, and deliver the charity’s external communications and marketing strategy, working closely with ASC teams, including the Executive and Senior Leadership teams. You will gain valuable insights into our work and help deliver and evaluate activities that lead to the effective positioning and promotion of the charity.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation:
- Drafting and editing engaging content for various channels (website, social media, email, print).
- Creating and updating website content.
- Developing and creating a newsletter to engage an audience of followers.
- Writing and broadcasting external emails.
- Creating templates for ASC-wide use based on brand e.g. PPT templates.
- Stories Database
- Managing a database of case studies that are gathered through ASC case work and through digital channels.
- Social Media Management:
- Managing and monitoring social media channels, responding to enquiries, and engaging with supporters.
- Contributing to the development of social media strategies for specific projects.
- Sharing key messages and calls to action on social media accounts.
- Campaign Support:
- Assisting with the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
- Tracking campaign performance and providing data analysis.
- Collaborating with the Exec and Leadership to identify comms opportunities.
- Podcast:
- Recording and editing.
- Graphic design using CANVA to accompany the above.
- Other Duties:
- Responding to queries from the general public.

GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation. Our mission is to bring together the LGBTQI community and allies to support global LGBTQI rights activism worldwide, building a world where LGBTQI people everywhere can live freely and fully.
Across the world, courageous activists are doing vital work to protect our communities and improve the lives of LGBTQI people. But they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South and East. About the Role
Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, implementing a vital part of our philanthropy programme as we deliver our growth strategy.
You will identify, engage, cultivate and steward major donors (high net worth individuals) and charitable foundations to secure high value gifts and grants, grow long term strategic relationships in support of the LGBTQI movement, grow GiveOut's network, and provide a top quality donor experience.
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, you will support them on shaping and executing strategy and work planning, coordinating the donor database and leading on related internal processes, and deputising for the Head externally.

Homewards is a five-year, locally led programme, launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales in June 2023. The aim of Homewards is to demonstrate that together, it is possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief, and unrepeated.
The Royal Foundation has selected six flagship locations across the UK and formed Coalitions of committed organisations and people from their public, private and voluntary sectors: Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland, and Sheffield.
Role Purpose:
The Royal Foundation is seeking an exceptional Project Analyst to play a vital role in shaping and delivering high impact strategic initiatives across Homewards’ priority thematic areas: homes; funding and finance; employment; and data. You’ll be at the heart of ensuring Homewards achieves lasting impact and shaping exciting and ground-breaking new partnerships.
Reporting into the Senior Project Manager and working closely with colleagues across the programme, the Project Analyst for Strategic Delivery is a key role as we deliver ambitious cross-location initiatives that prevent and end homelessness. You will be based within the core Homewards team but will work closely with other Foundation teams and external delivery partners.

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Grants Assistant with proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a small team. You will have the confidence to work independently, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks as well as contribute more widely to the team’s activities.
You will be hard-working, reliable and able to work collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues across both the Charity and with staff across different hospital departments, ensuring that the reputation of the Charity and the Charity Team remains high by always working in a professional manner.
This post provides a key supporting role in the administration of the Charity, and you will provide finance and administrative support to the grant management processes to ensure that applications, approvals and payments are up to date and accurate and comply with charity policy and legislation.
An important aspect of this role will be in supporting the Grants Manager to implement the Charity’s new Grants strategy and deliver a successful grant-funding programme across the Trust, working alongside colleagues to ensure positive outcomes and the wider sharing of good news stories about grant awards.
You will be a point of contact for all grant queries and may need to guide claimants to manage the process, requiring a “helping hand” approach where necessary.
The successful candidate will have experience in an administrative or financial role, which ideally will have involved using online financial systems or databases.
Experience in the charity sector and knowledge of grant award processes would be an advantage.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Processing grants-related payments, working alongside the Grants Manager and other finance teams in the Trust, to investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Exporting grant and payment information from the Grants system and assisting with the reconciliation of the grants and the accounts systems as required.
- Maintaining the grants database and other records as necessary, ensuring systems are kept up to date and correspondence for grant applicants and suppliers are filed and stored in accordance with appropriate Data Protection requirements.
- Assisting in the processing, monitoring and follow-up of charity grants, including corresponding with grant applicants to obtain appropriate information to support the grant making process.
- Produce monitoring reports for the Senior Management Team and Grants Manager.
- Provide support and guidance to NUH staff and to the Charity’s fund advisors, offering advice on appropriate charitable funds expenditure in line with Charity Guidelines and the Charity Commission’s donor intent guidelines and legislation.
- Liaison with hospital staff and charity fundraisers in relation to donor intent, including assisting with the fulfilment of Charity Grants and procurement of small items.
- Be the first point of contact for small grants, participating in Trust engagement and providing support to applicants and grantees as required. Deputising with the administration of the grant applications and awards process in the absence of the Grants Manager.
- Undertake other work in support of the Charity’s objectives and any other duties identified by the Charity Executives and/or Grants Manager.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Providing effective day to day administrative support covering the Charity phone line and jointly monitor the Charity Grants inbox ensuring all emails are answered or distributed as required.
- Providing cover arrangements in relation to general charity administration including opening post, ordering stationery, credit card purchasers, receiving and counting donations (cheque and cash) from staff and other donors in accordance with charity procedure.
- Meet and greet donors and visitors as required, and ensuring that a customer-focused approach is adopted at all times to maximise the opportunities of encouraging donor giving.

As the Supporter Relationship Officer (Legacies) you will join Brooke’s Fundraising & Communications (FundComm) directorate at an exciting time, as we continue to deliver our five-year strategy. Length and Salary
This is a full-time role, on a permanent contract. The annual salary is £42,193 full-time per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.
Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we ask staff to work two days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. MAIN TASKS
Fundraising

Job Summary
Taking a leading role as part of the Individual Giving management team, you play an important part in helping to achieve a step change in the growth of the net voluntary income of St John. Job Description
DMI is looking to recruit a Research Officer/Manager, whereby candidates from any location where DMI has a permanent presence (London, Antananarivo, Kampala, Lilongwe, Lusaka, Maputo, Mwanza, and Ouagadougou) are invited to apply. The salary and title of this role is dependent experience, and DMI will consider outstanding Masters graduates through to post-doctoral level researchers. To succeed, you will need to demonstrate significant research experience and a highly proficient report writing abilities.
More specifically, the Research Officer/Manager role will include the following responsibilities:
1. Designing and managing effective and scientifically robust evaluations (both quantitative and qualitative) for DMI projects.
2. Overseeing, advising, and supporting research teams in DMI’s national offices to conduct routine research activities (for example, focus groups to understand barriers to behaviour change) and other project specific research tasks.
3. Commissioning and managing external agencies (usually based in the country that we are working) to carry out surveys. This includes the competitive selection of an agency, often using a tendering process, liaising with the selected agency and ensuring that their work is of the highest scientific standards.
4. Contributing to writing and publishing reports based on data gathered and methodologies used during DMI projects. This will include articles for peer-reviewed academic journals and wider scientific publications.
5. Providing technical support to project design during the proposal phase, particularly in relation to the design of monitoring and evaluation elements.
6. Keeping abreast of the latest research evidence, theories, and concepts relevant to DMI’s campaign topics, and communicating trends and new ideas across the organisation.

Effectively communicating with, providing technical research support, and building the research capacity of colleagues (those with and without a research background) and sub-contractors in the areas of research methods, monitoring, process evaluation, and impact evaluation, analysis, and interpretation.

Required knowledge, skills and experience
1. Very strong intellectual ability, as evidenced by a research-focused postgraduate qualification and significant research experience in epidemiology, public health, health economics, social sciences, statistics, biomedical sciences, or an equivalent field. The salary range is broad to reflect that we will consider outstanding Masters graduates through to post-doctoral level researchers.
2. Excellent writing skills (in English), likely proven both by a publication record, and by an ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-specialist audiences, both internally and externally.

What you will be doing
The Director of Fundraising will be a key member of our executive team reporting directly to the Secretary General. As our first Director of Fundraising, you will have the opportunity to build and develop your own team to help you deliver the fundraising strategy.

The Director of Fundraising will lead the continued development, co-ordination and delivery of our new fundraising strategy, to build and maintain philanthropic income.
The post holder will work under the direction of the Secretary General and Trustees to:
1. Deliver our new Fundraising Strategy which has been prepared, maximising resources through major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, corporates and legacies throughout the world.
2. Build a new fundraising team.
3. Act as an advocate and ambassador for the charity, building and prospecting new relationships with supporters, stakeholders and donors.
4. Work with colleagues to articulate and promote the charity’s unique message.
5. Mobilise potential supporters and advocates within our St John Family.
2. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Work with the St John International team and trustees to deliver the innovative and varied fundraising strategy.
b) Create and manage fundraising: major donors, trusts and foundations, corporates, and legacies across the organisation.
c) Monitor, collect and manage information on relevant sources of funding, including public and charitable funds, commissioning and procurement, and emerging opportunities for income generation.
d) Develop, implement and oversee quality control, evaluation and reporting procedures to ensure a high standard of bid submission, monitoring and reporting at all times.
e) Build relationships with major donors and maintain good stewardship of donors and funders. We expect our contributor base to include international donors, and not just those who may be UK-based.
f) Research and write high quality grant applications and proposals for support.
g) Develop, pitch and manage sponsorship proposals and presentations.
h) Work with colleagues to embed opportunities for fundraising and fundraising events through other areas of the charity’s work.
i) Attend networking events, prepare groundwork and establish connections to engage potential donors and develop opportunities.
j) Prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress to the trustee board.
k) Identify opportunities to collaborate with global partners to secure additional efficiencies, benefits or increased resources, including the potential for joint fundraising approaches.
l) Ensure that appropriate health & safety standards are met for fundraising events, including the production of risk assessments and event plans.
m) Ensure the fundraising office adheres to all required fundraising regulations in the UK.

THE ROLE
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the future development of the WCIA as we move into a new strategy, alongside the team and stakeholders in Wales and across the world.
The role will be to:
- Work across the organisation to understand funding needs
- Meet ambitious targets across various fundraising streams through making applications, securing new streams of funding and developing new contacts
- Bring and build funder knowledge: create a database of funders, consistent networking, building relationships with funders and being aware of the funding landscape (knowing funders concerns, matchmaking funds to projects, attending events)
- Conduct research into diverse funding with a focus on trusts, foundations and ethical corporate partnerships – in Wales, the UK and global opportunities
- Create a new base funding bid model budget for grant application development
- Develop and manage a sustainable funding strategy and model: expand ethical funding opportunities

- Proven track record of developing and generating funding opportunities across a large and multi-stranded bids and programmes

POST CONDITIONS
The postholder will be employed directly by WCIA
Responsible to: WCIA Chief Executive
Salary: £42,237 per annum, pro rata
Automatic enrolment into our pension scheme and the WCIA will match your contribution up to a maximum of 5% of your gross salary (minimum 4%).
Employment terms: this is a part-time, fixed term position for 12 months, starting as soon as possible. There will be a 3-month probationary period. All candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
Base: Remote working / office based from the Temple of Peace in the centre of Cardiff / hybrid working
Hours: 18.5-20 hours per week. We operate a flexible working policy
