This is a very exciting time to be involved with Social Prescribing.  It has been identified as a key component of NHS England’s Universal Personalised Care objective contained within their Long Term Plan, as well as London’s Health Inequalities Strategy for healthy communities published by The Mayor’s Office in 2018.  Both strategies recognise the influence of social, emotional, economic and cultural factors on health and well-being and the importance of community connections to improving health and wellbeing, self-care and self-management of long term conditions.

Family Action is proud to be the provider of the existing local Social Prescribing Service commissioned by City & Hackney CCG delivering since 2014, which recently won “Best Larger Project” at the inaugural Social Prescribing Awards 2019.   We are now delighted to be expanding the provision through additional funding provided by City & Hackney Primary Care Networks/Neighbourhoods.

You will work as part of a Primary Care Network Multi-Disciplinary Healthcare Team, providing 1:1 personalised support to Children and young people,ndividuals, and  families utilising a holistic and strength-based approach, to help identify the wider issues that impact on their health and wellbeing and work together to co-produce a wellbeing plan to address these needs. You will have excellent holistic assessment skills, as well as interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to build trusting relationships which support individuals feel empowered with their wellbeing. 

You will forge strong links with local VCSE organisations, community and neighbourhood networks, building on what is already available, to create a menu of community groups and assets to connect individuals to as part of their wellbeing plan.

You must be a good listener and have experience of working positively with individuals facing complex, social and emotional challenges that impacts on their wellbeing.  Being creative as well as having a solution focussed attitude to removing barriers to health and wellbeing is essential. 

You will also have strong leadership qualities , experience of supervising staff and  report writing to support strategic and organisational requirements .

Voluntary Services Officer

What is the role?

Reporting to the Head of Volunteering, Learning and Inclusion, and working in support of our community engagement strategy, the Voluntary Services Officer will maximise the benefits for the organisation of having a volunteer workforce that is embedded in the community we serve.

The postholder will induct and train volunteers, and support them with on-brand messaging and communication. They will also ensure our operations are fully resourced, and support the development of excellent volunteer management practices among our team of managers.

Please note that this post does not directly manage volunteers.

About you:

You will have experience of recruiting, training and inspiring staff or volunteers, and an understanding of the differences in employment and volunteering. You will have good project management skills and excellent communication and influencing abilities in order to achieve results through others. Although this post does not have staff management responsibilities, you may have previous experience of successfully leading a team, and will be able to bring your experience to bear when influencing staff and volunteers alike. You will be able to deliver engaging, motivational training, and demonstrate a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, along with a keen understanding of the impact of excellent volunteering experiences on increased community support.

Role Overview -

The Multibank Manager will focus on driving the growth and impact of the West Midlands Multibank by building strong relationships with referral and donation partners, overseeing daily operations including inventory management and distribution, and ensuring the project's financial sustainability through effective communications and fundraising. It also involves evaluating the Multibank’s impact to identify unmet needs and emerging trends, while providing direct line management to the Logistics Co-Ordinator and coordinating all staff and volunteer teams to deliver efficient and equitable support to communities in need.

Key Reponsibilities

· Develop and grow the impact and scale of the West Midlands Multibank including building relationships with potential referral and donation partners.

• Engage with organisations to establish and maintain an appropriate network of referral partners to support those in need to access the support of the Multibank
• Build and manage relationships with local businesses and corporations in order to secure additional donations for distribution and to secure Corporate support, with support of BVSC leadership
• Work collaboratively with partners to ensure the Multibank is meeting the needs of communities effectively and supporting those in poverty to access resource and wider help as needed

· Manage the day to day running of the West Midlands Multibank, including the referral and distribution processes and inventory management

• Manage the work of the Logistics Co-Ordinator with additional Multibank staff to ensure the smooth day to day running of the Multibank
• Manage Health and Safety processes within the Multibank
• Collaborate with referral and distribution partners and the Logistics Co-Ordinator to ensure available inventory is appropriate for local communities and meeting identified need
• Manage the financial sustainability of the project including communications and fundraising.
• Raising awareness and promoting positive impact of the Multibank to attract investment

The purpose of this role is to help plan and deliver events that provide engaging forums for key London stakeholders to generate and share ideas whilst communicating Centre for London’s messages around key policy areas and strengthening our networks. The role includes contributing to fundraising and developing ideas for new events and conferences.

Key responsibilities include: 

Events delivery  

• Help organise and deliver events such as report launches, private roundtables, and conferences; including preparation, delivery/logistics, and post event wrap-up. 
• Help identify key stakeholders, influencers and decision makers to build relations with so we can maximise the impact of our research and activities. 
• Support the External Affairs team with the delivery of larger conference events including researching and liaising with external contacts such as speakers, contractors, sponsors, venues and other stakeholders, as well as general logistics.
• Help grow the Centre’s network of speakers and supporters to ensure we meet or exceed our diversity targets.
• Work with colleagues to use processes and systems for creating guest lists, finding and securing venues, composing invitations (in Mailchimp) and administering responses (in Salesforce).
• Compose copy for the website, briefings and social media.
• Working with others to ensure key messages are communicated through events content and impact is tracked. 
• Work with others to innovate and create new ideas for events and activities. 
• Administer and update the events inbox and Centre for London’s website (in WordPress).

Reporting and record keeping 

• Ensure that Salesforce, Centre for London’s database, is kept up to date and accurately reflects the status of relationships with stakeholders, fundraising approaches and project delivery in line with latest data protection laws.
• Maintain and improve Salesforce through adding new contacts, data cleaning, coding contacts for relationship management and proactively suggesting improvements.
• Help write impact reports for events-only projects and support with other impact reports, e.g. Trustee updates.
• Help ensure Centre for London’s calendars and master planner are kept up to date with external events.

Development and fundraising

• Work with colleagues to develop events ideas and proposals to further Centre for London’s priorities and objectives – and contribute to preparing fundraising proposals 
• Proactively research and identify suitable organisations, individuals, sponsors, speakers and exhibitors interested in the Centre’s work.
• Contribute to impact reports for funders.
• Where appropriate, work with the Development Team to ensure all funders receive the benefits we have agreed with them and are communicated with regularly.

Experience and knowledge:

The East London & Essex Hub comprises of four Community Centres, located in Stamford Hill, Bethnal Green, Redbridge, and Southend. The Hub also incorporates Youth Services, the Dennis Centre Dementia Day Centre, and Meals on Wheels provisions. Located too within the Hub is the Vi Johns Rubens Care Home based in Gants Hill.

In 2026, Jewish Care’s 4th Campus will open in Redbridge, with a number of the Hub’s current services moving into one site. The role will be a key part of this process.

The Volunteer Manager is a multi-site role across the Hub’s three areas, overseeing recruitment, training, and assisting resource managers, supervisors & teams with the day-to-day management of volunteers. Working with the Community Hub Manager the Hub’s Operations Administrator, and the Manager of the Volunteering Department, the role ensures the Hub’s Centre Coordinators, teams, and services are well supported and operationally efficient.

The role works closely with Jewish Care’s Volunteering Department and one day a week will be spent with the team at Amelie House in Golders Green. 

The role is multi-site, and part time for 30 hours per week (Monday - Thursday). The salary for 30 hours per week is £26,065 per annum (£16.66 per hour).

What you will be doing:

In collaboration with the Hub teams and the Volunteering Department, identify required needs, opportunities & roles for volunteers.
Identify and create written role outlines to ensure that all volunteers are correctly matched with suitable opportunities.
Recruit volunteers through current and new networks, organise recruitment events locally, to promote opportunities at Jewish Care.
Oversee onboarding and enrolment of all new volunteers in the Hub.
In collaboration with the Volunteering Department, implement and manage a training schedule for all volunteers, including local induction and training for new volunteers.
Day-to-day operational support of volunteer management & engagement.
Maintain accurate volunteer records ensuring the volunteer database, Better Impact is always updated.
In collaboration with the Volunteering Department, provide relevant KPIs to ensure effectiveness and best practice.
In collaboration with other services support and lead special projects such as supported volunteering; employee volunteering; Mitzvah Day; fundraising initiatives; work experience; student placements.
Plan, organise and implement ‘Thank You’ events and recognition during  the annual Volunteering Week, and oversee and lead on the nomination process for the annual Jewish Care Volunteer Awards event.

About The Rufford Foundation

The Rufford Foundation is a grant-making charity that provides funding for nature conservation programmes and projects.

The flagship Rufford Small Grants Programme awards funding to individuals working in developing countries who are starting on the ladder of conservation research and establishing pilot programmes. Since its inception in 1999, the Rufford Small Grants Programme has given over £37 million through more than 6,100 grants to projects in over 150 countries. The programme identifies scientists and practitioners at the early stages of their careers and provides targeted support to enable them to achieve their goal of making a difference in terms of conservation. In 2023, we started to pilot our Organisational Grants funding stream to provide core, multi-year funding to small local NGOs to help them strengthen their financial and institutional capacity to ensure long-term viability.

This is an exciting time to join The Rufford Foundation, as the postholder will play an essential role in encouraging grantees to apply for further funding. This new role will sit within the conservation team to coordinate the delivery and oversight of Rufford Small Grants.

Rufford Small Grants are renowned for being an important milestone in the careers of conservationists and researchers who may have limited experience in designing and delivering projects. We are very aware that unforeseen issues may arise and are considerate towards requests for project changes. The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will review all project updates and reports to track project changes and to monitor project delivery against proposed plans.

The Rufford Foundation is involved with other conservation donors and practitioners looking at the evidence of conservation effectiveness and supporting learning from success and failure. We fully understand that conservation projects may not succeed as planned and that evaluating small grant project impacts over short timescales (1-3 years) is problematic. The MEL Officer will take this into account when reviewing project progress and evaluation reports.

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience of reviewing (or drafting) donor reports, have excellent analytical and communications skills and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of biodiversity conservation, ideally with some practical knowledge of conservation in countries where the foundation funds projects. Experience of coordinating work with grantees, including review of workplans, deliverables and budgets, would be highly desirable.

We are keen for the MEL Officer to use their expertise to design a MEL framework to help our grantees with their project proposals, and The Rufford Foundation to evaluate the impact of work across the Rufford Small Grant and Organisational Grant portfolios. The MEL Officer may also support grantees with their own project evaluations.

Principal Responsibilities

Rufford Small Grants

• Review narrative and financial reports for Rufford Small Grant projects, including comparative analysis of results versus original proposals.
• Draft brief summaries of the results of each project, highlighting project changes and outcomes, sharing these with colleagues in writing and at team meetings.
• Compile key achievements delivered through Rufford Small Grant projects.
• Make recommendations for Rufford staff to follow-up with grantees about further Rufford Small Grant funding.
• Work with colleagues to develop reporting guidelines and update our reporting templates.
• Support grantees with understanding and meeting Rufford reporting requirements – this might be done through online or in-person meetings with individuals or groups.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant-related activities specifically related to the review of Rufford Small Grant project reports.
• Using background material drafted as part of a recent consultancy, to develop high-level indicators for conservation and capacity building, lead in formalising an evaluation framework for The Rufford Foundation across all grant-making.
• Develop a systematic process to monitor the careers of previous grantees to measure the impact of our funding.
• Produce graphs, tables and short reports on Rufford Small Grants on a regular basis.

General

• Support with monitoring and evaluation of Organisational Grants including review of annual reports and gauging progress against annual plans.
• Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues, grantees and external contacts.
• Explore opportunities for grantees to draft pieces to promote their work through Rufford communications channels.
• Provide administrative support on grant-making processes as required.
• Represent The Rufford Foundation at events in the UK (online and in-person) and overseas to promote Rufford Small Grants to relevant audiences and ensure the foundation is well connected with conservation and donor communities.

Person specification

Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience of working within an environmental or biodiversity conservation NGO.
• Grant-making or project reporting, ideally within the conservation sector.
• Reviewing donor reports for conservation projects, including drafting feedback for grantees to address queries raised.
• Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills.
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluating conservation projects.
• Candidates will ideally have completed an MSc in an environmental/conservation- related discipline.
• Demonstrable understanding of planning and delivering field-based conservation projects, preferably within countries where Rufford funds projects, would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

As Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Fundraiser, you will proactively and independently manage relationships, reporting and application cycles for Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funders, adhering to all deadlines to maximise income generation. You will write high quality and compelling proposals to attract new and significant sources of funding. Working closely with colleagues in the programme management team you will identify projects suitable for prospective funders. Using the information provided, build compelling and persuasive applications and cases for support. You will monitor the ongoing progress of programme activities, outcomes, and finances and report back to funders, highlighting any changes as soon as possible.

The UK Network of Age-friendly Communities has grown significantly over the past five years. Part of a global movement of Age-friendly Cities and Communities, affiliated to the World Health Organisation, our goal is to support this growing network, ensuring it remains a positive and thriving community of practice, and a place for good ideas to spread fast. 

With line management responsibility for a Learning Officer, the postholder will plan and implement a programme of activity to inspire, connect, and support network members using a range of engaging and creative methods including:

· Identifying, documenting, and sharing the work of Network members

· Developing or commissioning online and offline resources such as webinars, case studies, toolkits, etc

· Facilitating connections, information flow and exchange between members

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant-makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. As a Carers Hospital Support Co-Ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and supporting carers who’s relative, friend or neighbour is in hospital or receiving treatment at the Homerton Hospital. You will be responsible for coordinating vital services, offering guidance, and creating a supportive environment to help carers cope with the challenges they may face whilst their cared-for is in hospital. 

Responsibilities: 

• Identification and Support: Proactively identify carers of patients admitted to the Homerton Hospital in Hackney, and provide them with tailored support, ensuring their well-being is prioritised. 

• Information and Guidance: Offer information about available hospital resources, support services, and community networks to assist carers effectively.

• Training and Education: Organise workshops and peer support groups to equip carers with essential skills for their caregiving role.

You will coordinate the sessions with the host locations, matching up volunteers with locations. You will provide national administrative support for the programme, managing all elements of the volunteer journey through our database. We provide mentoring and peer support groups to people in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and the neighbouring boroughs.

About the Role
As a Programme Officer at Unfold, you’ll ensure that our volunteer mentors feel supported and prepared for their work with young people. Alongside helping to recruit and onboard new mentors, including organising their training and reviewing their progress, you’ll be Volunteer Mentors main point of contact, making sure they have a rewarding and impactful experience. Your work will also include engaging with referrers, parents, and young people themselves, providing guidance and answering questions to ensure everyone feels connected to our mission.

You’ll also be hands-on with our youth programs, coordinating weekly Youth Support Groups and engaging with young people in outreach activities. You’ll work closely with our Programme Manager to build relationships with community organisations and support our Youth Advisory Council. At Home-Start Oxford we make a big impact for families in the local area. We’re seeking a dynamic individual who shares our passion for supporting parents and young children.

Working alongside our other Family Coordinators, you will play a vital role in our team.
