Senior Trusts Fundraising Officer – Maternity Cover
Contract type: 11-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave (please note: this contract may be Curtailed if maternity leave ends prior to the planned 10 months)

SPANA (The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad) is the global charity for the working animals of the world. Since our foundation in 1923, we have worked where they work, to support the welfare of working animals, including horses, donkeys, mules, oxen, dogs and camels.
In this role, you will work to maximise income generated from charitable trusts, foundations, multilateral and statutory sources, by producing compelling applications, proposals, mailings, in-depth research profiles and feedback reports, and by providing exemplary stewardship. This role will suit an outstanding team player, who can work collaboratively and autonomously.
While keeping SPANA’s mission to improve the welfare of working animals at the heart of our trust programme, the post holder will utilise international development sector techniques and opportunities to maximise income for our cause.

Trusts fundraising programme
• Research and make approaches, pitches, submissions and applications to charitable trusts and foundations (both in the UK and overseas territories within SPANA’s global fundraising programme, such as Australia), to meet agreed annual targets.
• Actively contribute to the delivery of the trust fundraising strategy, including working to identify and research potential new sources of trust, statutory and multilateral funding, to meet agreed targets.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of an annual work plan and pipeline for the trust fundraising programme, including time-sensitive applications, to grow income.
• Assist in the development and submission of funding applications to statutory and multilateral sources (such as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and United Nations), working with colleagues to identify opportunities and develop projects and proposals.
• Write clear, concise and compelling proposals, and feedback reports for successful applications, and submit in a timely manner.
• Develop new and existing trust relationships through exemplary stewardship (feedback reports, mailings, phone calls, face to face, etc) to maximise long-term income, secure new sources of funding, upgrade existing levels of giving, repeat donations and multi-year funding.
• Work with SPANA colleagues to identify and maintain a list of suitable projects (that would particularly appeal to potential trust funders) and provide appropriate narrative and financial feedback reports on specific projects and restricted funds (for funders and internal purposes).
• Organise events, visits, meetings and other appropriate activities as required, to encourage and maintain support from trusts
• Assist in the development of events for trusts and major donors and represent SPANA at both SPANA events and external meetings, to cultivate relationships with the aim of securing income.
• Contribute to the development and production of SPANA fundraising, marketing and communications materials, to support trusts fundraising activities.

• Work to a set income and expenditure budget, setting targets in collaboration with line manager.
• Provide regular reports and information on progress, targets and income generated.
• Maintain accurate records of trusts fundraising activities on our CRM database.
• Ensure all work runs to set procedures and timelines, whilst providing exemplary stewardship.
• Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the trusts fundraising programme.
Other
• Ensure all SPANA’s trust fundraising activities are legally compliant, in keeping with our values and adherent to due diligence and our Acceptance or Refusal of Donations Policy.
• Assist with activities across the Fundraising Relationships team, such as providing project proposals, feedback reports and thanking, particularly during peak times and holidays.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Resolve Poverty is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to support the growth and development of the organisation as we embark on our four-year strategy.
About the role
This exciting new internal and external facing role will support the realisation of Resolve Poverty’s ambitious four year strategy as the organisation seeks to have impact nationwide.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the senior leadership team, alongside the CEO and Head of Policy. The COO will work closely with the CEO and manage key internal operations and functions’ including Human Resources (liaising with our external HR consultant) , IT and administration. About the role
We’re looking for a motivated, communicative, and knowledgeable Public Affairs Officer to join our Policy and Influencing Team, to help us achieve the positive change children and young people with cancer across the UK, and their families, need in the health system. This means amplifying the voices of young cancer patients and delivering evidence-based campaigns that make change happen.
The Public Affairs Officer is responsible for supporting the Policy and Influencing Team with public affairs expertise to deliver the key components of our influencing work in England and UK-Wide (Westminster). You will help us influence the system for children and young people with cancer and their families, so we can change experiences of having cancer and ensure children and young people’s voices are heard.

The Membership Engagement Officer is an exciting and varied role at the College as you will be responsible for increasing engagement with members and enhancing the member experience, whilst driving engagement initiatives and increasing member retention.
As Membership Engagement Officer, you will work with multiple teams across the College helping to develop and implement strategies to attract, engage and retain members through events, social media, newsletters and other communication channels while developing content that caters for our diverse membership groups.
Working with the Communications Team, you will help create and manage engaging content for member communications, ensuring opportunities for two-way communications and engagement, whilst also ensuring the best use of emerging channels and technology – e.g. podcasts, apps and webinars – to deliver content to members, segmented to our different audience members.
Reporting to the Head of Membership, you will support the delivery of the Member Value Proposition work, gathering and analysing member feedback to inform development and identify opportunities for improvement. Founded in 1960, The British Society for Haematology is a registered charity and professional membership body. The object of the Society is to advance the practice and study of haematology and to facilitate contact between persons interested in haematology. The Society has the British Journal of Haematology as its official journal and supports the haematology community through its educational resources, events, grants and guidelines as well as advocating for the profession.
The Role
The Volunteering Support Officer is a new role and will work as part of a small friendly team. They will be the lead administrator for the Early Careers Forum and the Global Haematology Special Interest Group (SIG). The post holder will work with volunteers to arrange and minute meetings and prepare agendas and papers for distribution. They will be responsible for SIG webpages and co-ordinating ebulletins to keep members up to date with SIG activities.
The post holder will recruit volunteers for committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) following our governance rules. You will act as the main point of contact for volunteering queries and ensure volunteers’ records and SIG membership are up to date using subscriber database.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and written. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload.
