Summary
We are looking for a Fundraising Events Coordinator to join our high performing Community & Events Team. The team are driven to maximise opportunities, striving to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.
The Fundraising Events team raises funds through a range of bespoke and third-party events such as One Million Steps Challenge, Swim 22, London Marathon and Great North Run. Since the pandemic, events at Diabetes UK have seen a strong come-back and we are now in a position to achieve significant and sustainable growth. The Fundraising Events Coordinator is a key role within our Engagement & Fundraising Directorate, helping deliver incredible experiences for any supporter that chooses to take on an event for Diabetes UK.

Main Responsibilities
As a Fundraising Events Coordinator you will provide an excellent customer experience to participants taking on fundraising events for Diabetes UK. The Fundraising Events Coordinator will provide professional, timely and engaging support that enhances supporter stewardship and maximises income generation.
You'll be supporting the Fundraising Events Managers, acting as first point of contact for our supporters, providing admin support through telephone, email, and social media channels. You'll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey, you'll help create amazing experiences for our event participants, from the moment they engage with Diabetes UK, building loyalty that lasts beyond event day. This role works with data through maintaining our database and you'll also need to update records on platforms like JustGiving and Enthuse. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.
Assigned 'lead coordinator' on high profile events, you will support the Event Manager with the development and delivery of events from setting up registration forms all the way through to post-event thanking. You'll also work with other teams and suppliers that support the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories.
You may also be responsible for management of your own projects as well as maintaining & optimising administrative systems and processes.

Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a confident, conscientious team player, with excellent customer service skills, who is quick to learn, highly organised and a proactive problem solver. They will have worked in a customer service focused administrative role, preferably in the charity sector. They will also have strong abilities in managing competing deadlines and organising their time effectively to prioritise workload. They will be able to effectively build working relationships with colleagues in a professional manner and demonstrate high standards of written and verbal communication.

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our fundraising activities, particularly during appeals, where your coordination skills will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Appeal Coordination:
- Assist the Direct Marketing Manager - Acquisition in keeping member agency fundraising directors and key suppliers up to date in the run-up to and during appeals.
- Update the fundraising and marketing team budget tracker, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the appeal process.
- Support the setup and management of Appeal Toolkits and Appeal Hubs, providing essential assets to staff, member agencies, and suppliers.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

- Monitor and update core and appeal budgets, processing invoices and ensuring financial accuracy.
- Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in organizing and managing the Fundraising Director’s Group meetings, including diary coordination, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing team, including setting up monthly team meetings, organizing agendas, and coordinating away days.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in project coordination and administrative support, ideally within a fundraising or marketing environment.

KCLSU is looking for a Student Voice Coordinator work within the Student Voice team to coordinate the development and delivery of representation practices, and embed these processes across KCLSU’s Community Engagement Department and our student voice partnership work with King’s College London. This will be focused on Student Futures, a large-scale transformation portfolio King’s College London is undertaking.
Student Futures aims to improve student experiences in key areas across the next three years. These areas include improving core processes and systems for education delivery; ensuring the university is able to provide proactive and personalised support for student wellbeing; and delivering a distinct, valuable extra and co-curricular student experience.
At times, the post-holder will also be required to support other King’s Transformation Office programmes, such as Campus Futures, which is overseeing the development of King’s campus spaces and facilities in the next few years.

Job Specification
ENHANCING REPRESENTATIVE PROCESSES
• Act as central point of contact for colleagues across King’s and KCLSU for centralising and sharing information about student voice and representation structures related to Transformation Office projects;
• Set up and oversee systems for the management of student representative data between KCLSU and various King’s project teams;
• Ensure that all areas of student representative recruitment, induction, and support are conducted smoothly;
• Record student attendance and other participation data to support evaluation processes and ensure appropriate remuneration;
• Support the payment of remuneration and/or incentives to student participants where required, working with the KCLSU Finance and relevant King’s teams to ensure this is appropriately administered and recorded.
ORGANISING REPRESENTATION PRACTICES
• Lead on the practical organisation of Student Futures representation practices – calendar management, room booking, procuring materials, etc.;
• Liaise with KCLSU and King’s College London colleagues across a range of teams to ensure smooth operational delivery;
• Provide support with other Transformation Office representation practices where necessary.
DATA & COMMUNICATIONS
• Support the Policy & Research Coordinator with the capture and analysis of datasets relating to the student experience, including data from relevant representation practices;
• Contribute to the scrutiny of evidence, trends, and datasets to identify to identify insight relevant to key Student Futures projects;
• Contribute to student-facing communications related to Student Futures and other Transformation Office programmes as relevant, including updating KCLSU webpages
• Contribute to the delivery of training, guidance, and ongoing support for Student Officers and other student representatives across KCLSU, equipping students with the knowledge and skills that enable them to thrive in their roles and feel empowered to grow as leaders.

The role of the Direct Marketing Executive is a varied one. Working with different teams & suppliers, you will be supporting and delivering direct marketing campaigns online, offline and across a range of media channels. The acquisition programme is an evolving one and there is change and growth happening in a lot of interesting areas at a fast pace.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Campaign Management
· Support with planning and delivery of a wide range of supporter engagement and fundraising activities including digital marketing and face-to-face fundraising.
· Support with the creation of content copywriting for digital adverts.
· Work with others in the team to conduct mystery shopping, shadowing and call listening to measure fundraising quality and ensure compliance.
· Liaise with designers, printers, mailing houses, agencies, and fulfilment houses.

· Administer the recording, reconciliation, and processing of invoices to be paid from acquisition Direct Marketing nominal codes.
Other duties
· Tracking and evaluating competitor and industry trends, collaborating with the other Direct Marketing Executive to provide recommendations to the wider team for potential improvements and testing opportunities.
· Keep up to date on the latest developments within the sector relating to best practice in fundraising.
· Proof-read direct marketing materials and collateral.
· Regularly attend, support, and contribute to meetings and events.
· Ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice.
· Keep up to date with dementia news, research developments and the work of ARUK and consider the impact on campaigns.
· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Senior Direct Marketing Officer in line with the responsibilities of the post.
