About the role
Working across the Crisis Brent teams you will lead on the delivery of our volunteer programme and member involvement opportunities. You will be responsible for the recruitment of new volunteers, the support of existing volunteers and volunteer supervisors to maintain a positive volunteer experience. You will work across teams to ensure volunteer’s experience of volunteering is positive and play a key role in volunteer retention. You will be collaborative and dynamic in working with the team to identify and develop new volunteering opportunities. You will have the ability and confidence to increase the diversity and variety of our volunteering opportunities to reflect our local community and better serve our members. You will be flexible and innovative in reaching a diverse group of people from across the local community.
You will have experience of working with people who are social excluded and have lived experience of homelessness. You will understand the importance of delivering equitable services and can empower our members to share their experience and contribute to continuous service adaptations and improvements. You will be creative and inclusive in establishing Brent-specific member involvement opportunities so members can influence our service locally. You will work across teams to ensure we deliver our service with people experiencing homelessness, instead of delivering a service to people experiencing homelessness. You will work with the central Crisis team to respond to member involvement opportunities, influencing policy and providing members with the opportunity to share their story with the wider public and media.

Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)
Responsible to: Senior Support Worker
Responsible for: Young people living in the accommodation (4 young people aged 16 – 18 years old seeking asylum in the UK).
Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.
Hours: 25 hours per week on duty – this is a mixture of day, evening and weekend shifts. Two days a week will be off duty.
Leave: Two nights a month can be taken as nights away from the home. This in addition to annual leave allowance. Annual leave - 33 days (converted into hours) pro-rata for number of hours worked

Overall Purpose
To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. To act as an excellent role model and to work closely with them and their Support Worker to enable them to make good progress towards independence.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation, helping them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
- Actively support young people to make progress and develop in the following outcomes; physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing; personal safety; education and learning; employment and training that is safe and suitable; social engagement (being part of the community and activities outside of the home)

- Using Baca’s progress plan, train all young people in living skills and looking after a home such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety, food shopping and budgeting.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We are looking for three Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) to join our team in High Wycombe.
The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups.
A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activites, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).
An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

We are hiring a part time Sanctuary Support worker to work in our crisis cafes. We have availability within Barnet and Enfield sites. The service is open 4.30-10pm Monday – Friday and 12.00 – 6.00pm Saturday and Sunday - 7 days a week
The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for all residents experiencing emotional distress, and at risk of developing crisis. The café is open 4.30pm – 10.00pm Mon-Fri, 12-6pm Sat & Sun. We provide helpling support, initial support meetings to immediately manage with the clients the distress they are in. We then coproduce support plans with clients and offer 121’s,support groups and workshops as well as a social and supportive place to be.

Volunteering Friends is our new, National Lottery Community Fund project, which builds on our existing work in Blaenau Gwent. By harnessing the power of volunteers, the project will work with older people (50+) living in Blaenau Gwent who are experiencing feelings of loneliness and/or isolation, and provide companionship, confidence building and encourage involvement in their local community. The project will consist of three interlinking strands: one-to-one befriending, delivered in the person’s home or over the telephone; community buddying, providing support to attend community groups; and the establishment of volunteer-led group activities for beneficiaries to attend based on local needs and interests.
Key Duties:
- Recruit, interview, induct, train and support volunteers.
- Work closely with partners/referral agencies and funders to ensure a steady flow of participants into the projects.
- Manage the matching/placement process of volunteers and participants, setting up and supporting new activities where appropriate.
- Be responsible for project compliance, carrying out risk assessments for volunteer activity and regularly reviewing, including safeguarding arrangements.
- Ensure monitoring evidence and impact data is collected to measure progress against agreed outcomes.
- Provide administrative support for the project where required, processing volunteer expenses and maintaining databases.
- Promote the project through a range of techniques, instigating interest in volunteering and encouraging engagement.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Debt Adviser who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. They will have experience of supporting and supervising a team, and monitoring their performance to ensure this remains in line with internal and external requirements.
The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice.

We are looking for exceptional new colleagues to join our great team at the Money Advice Trust and become debt advisers, to provide free debt advice to people contacting our National Debtline service by telephone. If you are self-motivated, have high resilience, able to problem solve, have outstanding customer-focused communication skills and you want to help people through the cost-of-living crisis and beyond, then the Debt Adviser is the role for you.
National Debtline is an award-winning free debt advice service run by the Money Advice Trust, an independent charity founded in 1991 to help people across the UK to tackle their debts and manage their money with confidence.
As a debt adviser you will provide advice, support, and money management help to people struggling with problem debt. This will include helping callers to form a budget, prioritise their debts and identify possible solutions, in compliance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations. You will be required to fact find, analyse and work out solutions for the client.
This is a role for resilient candidates who are consistent in approach and can demonstrate that they are able to deal with subjects that can be highly emotive and sensitive. Training and assessments are intense and there is a requirement to manage your own development during and outside working hours to stay up to date with new legislation in this arena. You will need initiative to research some of the finer technical points of debt advice. The calls we receive and productivity targets you need to achieve are challenging and you will be dealing with vulnerable clients daily who may be experiencing poor mental health or at risk of suicide.
