You’ll be responsible for the effective provision of comprehensive HR services for XLP, develop highly effective relationships across the team, maintaining a real understanding of their challenges. You’ll partner with Line Managers on a range of HR duties encompassing the entire employee life cycle, including updating and reviewing policies and processes, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding/ offboarding, Learning & Development and more. You’ll ensure we recruit and retain excellent staff to ensure we’re giving our best for young people.

You’ll be happy to manage all aspects of HR and the employee lifecycle and not be afraid to work autonomously and get stuck in.

The Café forms part of a central hub, housing a daytime café for the community and an after-school Youth Café that connects vulnerable young people to positive and inspiring role-models from their community, empowering and inspiring them to become active citizens in their community. The space is used for two similar, but distinct purposes and excellent working relationships between these are essential. This role is responsible for the daytime café and related income generating activities.

An initiative of the Matrix Trust, our café has built an excellent reputation, with the vision to provide a space for local people to retreat to, where they will find a friendly welcome and an opportunity to give back to the community. The Café is open 5 days a week, 8:30am to 3pm on Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

● Oversee the efficient daily operation of the café, ensuring high standards and excellent customer service.

● Engage customers, take and serve orders, and drive sales.

● Ensure all health & safety and food safety standards are met.

● Maintain a clean, welcoming, and friendly environment for customers.

● Manage stock levels, place supply orders, and handle cash management, including cashing up and reporting till adjustments.

● Develop and maintain a visually inviting space with up-to-date menus and quality food offerings.

● Implement and follow food rotation and waste management procedures to minimise waste and maximise margins.

● Utilise and develop methods that encourage repeat business.

● Secure the café at the end of the shift.

Café Development

● Develop seasonal menus and menu items to celebrate calendar events.

● Promote the vision of Matrix through the café.

● Be passionate about the vision of the café.

● Achieve café goals and targets set by the Board of Directors.

● Identify areas for development that will drive the business forward, keeping abreast of new concepts and ideas in the industry.

● Ensure that customers are given an efficient and enjoyable experience and that service and value expectations are consistently exceeded.

● Collaborate with marketing and business development to create promotional strategies, including social media campaigns.

Building and Event Management

● Liaise with the Head of Operations about any building maintenance issues.

● Promote the hireable spaces and arrange events that enhance the café’s offerings.

● Encourage use of the café by local groups such as creatives, book clubs, parents etc.

● Manage café events, ensuring the team sets up the space as required and that the hirers are properly looked after.

● Coordinate with local businesses and community organisations for partnerships and events.

General and Wider Charity Involvement

● Be a proactive part of the wider Matrix team, getting involved in projects that benefit the mission of Matrix, such as fundraising activities or team projects.

● Ensure knowledge of current Matrix projects and their impact.

● Participate in community outreach programmes and initiatives that align with the café’s social enterprise goals.

The successful candidate will have:

• Part-qualified with a CCAB qualification or evidence of equivalent experience in a similar role.

• Ideally experience working in the public sector, but this is by no means essential.
• Proven experience of working collaboratively, including working with internal and external people in positions of influence to develop and implement customer-focused business solutions.

Core Responsibilities 

Financial Management:

· Day to day management of the organisation’s financial and administrational activities, ensuring that appropriate systems are in place to receive and make payments, and to monitor financial performance of both the charity and the trading subsidiary

· Invoicing and, where required, debt management processes

· Regular reconciliation of bank and other relevant accounts

About the job

Leading the Meningitis Now Fundraising team, you will oversee delivering an annual programme of fundraising and income generating activities, including an exciting national events programme, community development programme, and individual giving programme. Supporting the team in reaching the income targets for the charity as well as delivering a strategy to grow sustainable income.

The role will have a focus on Community, Events and Individual Giving fundraising. Involving the delivery of our national events programme, supporter organised activities and our Individual Giving Programme including direct marketing, and in memory fundraising.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Administration

· Maintain all financial records and data accurately and within agreed systems outlined in the DSWF Financial Handbook’s processes and controls

· Maintain up to date records on the finance system (Sage 50)

· Monitor and record income from all sources and ensure accurate and timely recording, including fund allocations

· With the fundraising team, ensure accurate and timely recording of income into the Raiser’s Edge CRM

· Daily reconciliation of all bank, control and intercompany accounts to Sage

· Banking of cheques and petty cash control in a timely manner

· Maintain the purchase ledger including receipt of invoices and expense claims, authorisations, cost coding and posting into the Sage system

· Process all bank payments, card payments and direct debits

· With the CFO, provide support to the Conservation team in analysing project financial reports, making grant payments and preparing financial reports for donors

· Liaise with the Art team over the production of sales invoices for the subsidiary Trading company as well as processing of e-commerce and offline sales

· Provide support to the fundraising team in the financial elements of event planning (including hardware and processes for receiving income at events) and producing full financial reconciliations and ROI reporting at the conclusion of each event

· With the CFO, provide support to the fundraising team in producing budgets for applications for funding

· Manage the negotiation of card and transaction fees with payment providers

· Complete month end accounts checklist and relevant journals to trial balance

· With the CFO, prepare monthly management accounts for SMT and staff

· Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for the charity (using partial exemption principles) and the trading subsidiary

· Liaise with the fundraising team to ensure gift aid is maximised for every income stream and produce and submit gift aid claims on a monthly basis

Budget Management

· Support the preparation of the annual income and expenditure budgets

· Ensure income and costs are allocated correctly per agreed budget and highlight areas of variance

Annual Audit

· Preparation of papers for annual audit in conjunction with the CFO

· During audit be the main contact for collating all documentation and samples requested by auditors

Financial control systems

· Ensure financial policies and processes are fit for purpose, developing new ones where appropriate and deriving and implementing improvements to existing ones

With the team, you will be responsible for the quality of the WWL, ensuring that the data generated is communicated in a form that will be most relevant to the various constituent parts of Open Doors and beyond.

Your main responsibility is to work together with local and regional experts, as well as with other organizations that produce information on religious persecution, to monitor and score persecution. You will contribute, for the countries in your portfolio, to the establishment and continuous update of country profiles. Your portfolio will consist of a group of Asian countries, and you will report to the WWL Manager. 

Your key responsibilities

• To contribute to the development of the WWL as a world class instrument for monitoring persecution.
• To monitor and score persecution.
• To produce Full Country Dossiers and other persecution-related reports and country profiles for your portfolio.
• To strengthen the capacity of ODI’s internal network of researchers in research methodologies.
• To produce and review country analyses and to steer interdisciplinary teams drawn from the different areas of the organization for the production and review of the country analyses.
• To communicate results in speaking and writing to different target groups.

Your profile

• Committed Christian with a heart for the Persecuted Church.
• Master’s degree in relevant area or equivalent experience.
• Proven field research expertise in multi-cultural, complex and risky contexts and strong analytical skills.
• Able to combine accuracy with helicopter view and being a team player with being a self-starter.
• Written and verbal communication skills; primarily in English, knowledge of local Asian languages will be a plus.
• Able to travel to the field as well as to ODI bases.

As a HR Assistant – Apprentice you will provide a high level of administrative support to the HR Manager and wider Corporate Service Department, helping in the development and implementation of HR practices, processes, and functions within the Charity. Throughout your apprenticeship you will be proactive in support of business requirements and develop your knowledge to become a first point of call for payroll, HR administration, recruitment, and pension queries.

As part of the role, you will undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship in HR Support at Mid-Kent College, where you will use your work responsibilities to work towards a nationally recognised CIPD apprenticeship.

Duties to Include:

- Maintain, create, and update all employee records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Undertake administrative activities linked to the employee lifecycle from new starters, promotions, colleague changes and leavers.
- To check and maintain all pre-employment documentation associated with Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Right to Work compliance prior to the commencement of employment.
- Support the induction of new employees into the Charity and make sure that all payroll and employment documentation is collected.

- Support both managers with the appraisal process and ensure that performance management is recorded and reviewed regularly and within set deadlines.
- Be responsible for the booking and evaluation of training and making sure all training undertaken by staff is recorded accurately.
- Maintain and update the KSS Learning Platform when necessary. This may include the adding and removing of staff members, the updating of e-learning materials and the collating of statutory training records and completion dates.
- Work with members of Team KSS to develop and build training courses through our e-learning authoring platform.
- Be a champion of all HR systems within KSS, and work with the HR Manager to ensure that they provide solutions and analytics to members of Teams KSS and the Senior Leadership Team.

We are looking for an organised and creative Project Manager to coordinate our ongoing multi-million pound appeal. The campaign is funding specialist nurses and therapists for Parkinson’s, making a huge difference to the lives of people living with the condition. Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition, and this work is one of the charity’s top strategic priorities for 2024 and 2025 and a crucial fundraising and communications priority.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with fundraising and communications teams across the charity, including Philanthropy, Trusts, Commercial Partnerships and Special Events, with a growing focus on Individual Giving, Events, Community and Supporter Experience as the appeal builds momentum. 

We’re looking for someone who has successfully managed diverse projects, and also has experience of working in one or more of these fundraising disciplines to ensure they can hit the ground running. We’re keen to hear from people who have a proactive and problem-solving approach, and who enjoy working with lots of different people and on varied topics. 

The role will join an ambitious and supportive team coordinating projects across fundraising, and will benefit from flexible working conditions and the can-do attitude that runs through Parkinson’s UK’s Fundraising and Experience directorate. The post-holder will have the opportunity to learn from colleagues in several fundraising teams, growing their own skills and knowledge.

What you’ll do:

• Operationally plan and project manage the charity’s multi-year fundraising appeal, building systems and processes to ensure its success.

• Prepare project and campaign materials to support fundraising colleagues and volunteers with promotion and marketing, specific proposals, pitches and events.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Fundraising Directorate to identify existing and new supporters to share appeal plans and materials with

• Set and update specific targets for the appeal and track financial performance from pipeline through to banked income.

• Experience of planning and project managing fundraising appeals and campaigns (or similar complex projects), leading to achievement of goals and targets. 

• Highly organised and able to manage a range of activities across different teams, encouraging and motivating colleagues to support the project goals and creating compelling project updates and reports. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and confident working with key stakeholders at many levels within the charity. 

• Knowledge of key fundraising disciplines, including having worked with high value audiences or experience of digital marketing and engagement.

The YoungMinds Parents Helpline provides parents and carers with life-changing information, advice and support, and we are looking for a Service Manager to join our incredible team. This is an exciting, challenging and critical role, which will lead and support the helpline team in delivering a safe, high-quality, culturally competent and inclusive service to thousands of parents/carers.

You will work closely with the helpline management team to ensure all helpline channels (including telephone, webchat and email) are adequately resourced, and advisers are providing high-quality support to parents/carers who have concerns for their child’s mental health. You will use helpline data and evaluation insight to respond to demand, identify key themes, make continuous improvements to service delivery, and contribute in the strategic shaping and implementation of service development plans.

You will ensure that the Parents Helpline team is accountable to the organisational Anti-racism, Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (AJEDI) action plan, and lead in ensuring that the service continues to increase cultural competency, accessibility and inclusivity, with a particular focus on supporting service users from Black and minoritised communities.

You will provide line management support to helpline team members including staff, regularly review policy, and ensure the helpline operates in accordance with organisational procedures. You will contribute to the review and development of helpline content, provide expert opinion and relevant information from the helpline to a variety of stakeholders, and represent the service at both internal and external events. About the role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to proactively lead the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, trusts and statutory bodies, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Engagement, the Philanthropy Manager will drive the growth of a portfolio of existing supporters and new prospects giving at the five and six figure gift level, with a particular focus on generating major gifts from new donors.
