We do this through the Parkinson’s Excellence Network (PEN), a network of around 6,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.

We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Excellence Network has provided networking and collaboration opportunities for professionals across the different regions of the UK. In England, the Excellence Network is moving to a new regional model aligned to the 7 NHS England regions. The regional model in the devolved nations will remain the same: 3 regions in Scotland, 2 in Wales and 1 in Northern Ireland.

To help us deliver this new regional model, we are looking for a healthcare professional to take on the role of Regional Clinical Lead on a consultancy basis.

What will be expected of you in this role

You’ll:

• Be expected to co-opt a multidisciplinary leadership team to support you in your role. This team should reflect the multi-professional composition of regional services, as well as the geography and should include at least one person with Parkinson's.
• Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network at a regional level.
• Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services across your region.
• Act as a professional ambassador for the Excellence Network and help represent the professionals in your region.
• Engage with Integrated Care Board (ICB) leaders to help influence the development of your Integrated Care System (ICS).
• Work closely with the Professional Engagement team at Parkinson’s UK to organise and hold engagement opportunities in your region. This will include working with the team to hold and lead at least one in-person meeting in your region per year.
• Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.
• Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.
• Work closely with the PEN National Clinical Leadership Team (CLT) to discuss and review national and regional priorities. Attend a virtual meeting with CLT 2 times per year.

What expertise you’ll bring

You’ll:

• Be a UK-based clinical healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with extensive interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged to apply.
• Have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

What you can expect from Parkinson’s UK

You’ll:

• Be formally welcomed and introduced to the Excellence Network and your role as a regional clinical lead.
• Be provided with an introduction pack, which outlines all the activities of the PEN at a national, regional and local level, so that you can gain an understanding of where your role fits in.
• Meet regularly with the Professional Engagement team to discuss and plan activity in your region, working to a co-developed engagement plan for your PEN region. We will be flexible, taking into account your individual needs.
• Meet with the Professional Engagement Lead or Associate Director of Policy & Health Strategy after 6 months in the role for a review meeting and then annually thereafter (or more frequently if required).
• Be provided with a set of resources and information to support you in your role eg. a ready made presentation on the PEN, data from the services within your patch, including relevant data from the UK Parkinson’s Audit.
• Be invited to an annual event for the National and Regional Clinical Leads, to provide updates, training and opportunities for discussion.

• Time commitment will be 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.
• Monthly rate will be based on skills and experience.
• Term of consultancy services will be set tenure of 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend once for a further 3 years.

Learning Disability Community Caseworker

Do you have experience in giving money or energy advice? Are you organised and can manage a varied workload? Yes, we may have the role for you.

Mencap's advice service are looking for a Learning Disability Community Caseworker that specialises in delivering energy and money advice using video calling, telephone and email advice and face to face in the community. 

This is a fixed term contract until March 2026, working 30 hours per week. We are flexible to where you do your work, but there will be an expectation of travel to our Peterborough office or community venues when needed.

Working with three other Energy and Money Advice Caseworkers - you will:

· Offer clear accessible advice to people with a Learning Disability, their families and carers.

· Manage a caseload of your own clients.

· Create, book and deliver workshops, events and webinars on Money and Energy Advice.

· Identify and undertake safeguarding alerts, following up on these and challenging them if necessary.

· Ensure that the caseworkers are at the right locations, with the right stock and equipment ensuring cost-efficient travel and venue planning/booking and excellent time management.

· Working with Subject Matter Experts in other nominated advice areas, to refer cases in and out of other parts of the team when the clients need more than Money and Energy Advice.

· Communicate effectively and accessibly, with empathy and clarity.

· Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the project, capturing K.P.I's and flagging any slippage.

About the Compass Project

The Compass Project Coordinator will work as part of an exciting new partnership between Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA), Living Without Abuse (LWA) and RISE (Refuge, Information, Support & Education). The Compass Project seeks to develop best practice responses to economic abuse within the coordinated community response by working with local professionals to help them understand and respond to economic abuse.

About the Compass Project Coordinator role

The Compass Project Coordinator will work to:

• Act as a point of contact for stakeholders across the Project areas (Brighton & Hove, Leicester, Rutland and Leicestershire), coordinating stakeholder engagement and access to training and resources. 
• Work closely with the Interim Women’s Sector Manager to coordinate and implement the Compass Project in pilot sites.

The Compass Project Coordinator will:

1. Collaborate with Compass Project Partners to:

• Support the coordination of training and dissemination of resources to professionals across the two pilot sites.
• Identify and engage with local lived experience groups and women with experience of economic abuse, ensuring inclusion of women from minoritised groups, to inform and guide our work.
• Develop and maintain key working relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders and partners across the two local sites including the facilitation of links with money and debt advice services, and local financial services.
• Support the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from the network for the purpose of project and external evaluation.

2. Facilitating access to economic abuse training and resources:

• Develop and deliver tailored training sessions on economic abuse to enable frontline workers to recognise and respond to economic abuse.
• Work with Compass Project Partners to integrate relevant economic abuse content into existing resources.
•  Implement data collection processes to support the evaluation of the project.
• Ensure effective communication with the project group and coordination of activities across the two pilot sites. Promote and facilitate SEA’s established routes to support for survivors and professionals.
• Attend local VAWG/DA Network meetings in a consultative capacity as an expert for economic abuse.
• Work with the communications teams across project partners to effectively promote the project.
• Facilitate referrals for women to the Domestic and Financial Abuse Team at Lloyds Banking Group and other banks/building societies we have direct links into.

Person specification

We are looking for a domestic abuse and/or frontline community professional with an interest in developing expertise around economic abuse. In order to apply, you should have the following skills and experience:

Essential knowledge/skills/experience

• Knowledge and experience of supporting and working with victim-survivors of domestic abuse. Frontline experience of working with victim-survivors would be an advantage.
• An understanding of the coordinated community response to domestic abuse and commitment to all aspects of partnership working to improve the response.

• Experience of developing and delivering training face to face and online.
• Strong communication and engagement skills.
• Experience of safeguarding and managing risk.

About the role

Sightsavers’ work in the field of education is driven by the principle of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. We are looking for a Global Technical Lead – Inclusive Education to provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education to guide the development and delivery of specific initiatives and programmes.

As the Global Technical Lead for Inclusive Education, you will support Sightsavers to promote inclusive education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in education systems in West Africa, East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA), and South Asia. Working across multiple countries, you will ensure that disability inclusion is at the centre of conceptualisation, design and implementation of Sightsavers’ projects.

Strong communication skills in English and French are essential for this role, as is the availability to travel 12-16 weeks a year, nationally and internationally.

Principal accountabilities will include:

• To provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education at the programmatic level
• To strengthen the global programme portfolio in inclusive education through leading strategic and technical inputs in proposal development for funding opportunities.
• To pioneer new strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in inclusive education to improve and enhance the quality of Sightsavers’ work, especially in cross-cutting priority areas like climate action, gender equity and the use of data and evidence.
• To contribute to the research, innovation, policy, advocacy and communications agendas through close collaboration with interdepartmental teams and key external stakeholders.
• To undertake senior level representation of Sightsavers as an expert in inclusive education at national, regional and international professional and sector-specific networks, platforms, conferences and meeting

This is an ideal opportunity to build on your existing expertise in leading and developing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries. We are looking for a skilled communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across different departments and work collaboratively as a member of our cross-functional teams.  To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s) or equivalent experience in a relevant field, e.g. education, special needs education; disability, international development
• Business to fluent French language skills
• A proven record of leading, developing and implementing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries.
• Experience of working with national governments and international institutions such as Global Partnership for Education, UN agencies, bilateral agencies as well as non-state actors to contribute to education system transformation.
• Knowledge of current developments, issues and best practice in inclusive education to effectively address the barriers to education for children with disabilities
• Able to travel for up to 12-16 weeks a year (regional and international).

Background & Context to the Consultancy

Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). With the finalisation of the new strategy, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our impact and efficiency, we are now seeking a consultant to provide specialised research support and technical advice.

Purpose & Objectives of the Consultancy

The primary objectives of this consultancy are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.

Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for the following key areas over a six-month period:

Strategy Transition Leadership

• Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.
• Identify and address any gaps or challenges in the current strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth transition.

Operational Plan Management

• Develop a comprehensive operational plan for the rollout of the strategy.
• Establish the initial GRITS processes including the Go no Go; steering group established and functioning.
• Define clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure the plan is realistic, achievable, and aligns with the charity’s objectives and resources.

Support Existing Research Profile

• Review and support ongoing research projects.
• Ensure all research activities are technically sound, within budget, and on time.

• Ensure that data sets and tools are appropriately designed and employed.

Pathway to Sustainability

• Create a sustainability plan to ensure research expertise is transitioned to and led by in-country professionals.

• Establish mentorship and training frameworks to support local leadership in research.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, research institutions, and community leaders.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress and impact of the strategy.

Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end-of-life charity, is seeking an Associate Director of Local Fundraising to lead their local fundraising operation and ensuring they maximise the value from local relationships.

Marie Curie is the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all four nations delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Their leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and their campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.

The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to  drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie.  This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.

The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie.  With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic people person with great communications and organisational skills to help recruit and coordinate our talented volunteers. You will help take ANT to our next level of impact by leveraging volunteers to deliver tree planting and tree care activities across our woodland sites. Your role will support volunteer activities across Avon Needs Trees, but with a focus on our two largest sites: Great Avon Wood and Lower Chew Forest.

You will join a fast-growing organisation that started in 2019 with four volunteers and has grown to a staff team of nineteen (with more recruitment in the pipeline for 2024), over 1,000 volunteers and ownership of nearly 600 acres of land that will grow woodlands of over 160,000 trees.

Your legacy will be a tangible impact on slowing down climate change, helping nature recover and creating social impact by developing funding relationships that support our woodland projects and organisational development more broadly.

Main responsibilities

• Lead on the coordination of our volunteer leaders and volunteers to ensure we can deliver our volunteer tree planting, tree care days, and other activities, for example outreach volunteering or fundraising volunteering. Volunteer coordination includes:
  • Managing volunteer leader rotas and calendars
  • Ensuring all volunteers are provided with timely, accurate and clear logistical information ahead of volunteer days
  • Responding to volunteer and volunteer leader enquiries in a timely manner
  • Putting in place suitable contingency plans in the case of a volunteer leader having to pull out of a commitment
  • Administering our volunteer management system
• Work with the Chew Valley Project Team and the Engagement, Communications & Fundraising team to recruit new volunteers and volunteer leaders, and ensure the ongoing engagement of our current recruits. This includes:
  • Communications focused on volunteer recruitment
  • Coordinating volunteers along the recruitment process
  • Ensuring our web and digital assets are accurate and up to date
  • Producing high quality communications outputs targeted at our volunteers and volunteer leaders, for example, volunteer news bulletins
  • Volunteer focused project promotion on social media and other channels
• Act as the first point of contact for all volunteer related enquiries by managing our volunteer inbox and dealing with volunteer enquiries on the phone
• Ensure volunteering complies with our processes and policies, this includes:
  • Ensure all volunteer related documents are filed appropriately on our shared drive
  • Ensure all volunteer based activities are in line with ANT’s volunteer and health and safety processes and policies
  • Review volunteer expense requests
  • Escalating any issues in a timely and professional manner to the appropriate member of staff
• Work with the Chew Valley Project Team to support event delivery and logistics as required
• As with all Avon Needs Trees roles, contributing to grant writing and fundraising activities

The Interim Communications Director will play a pivotal role in developing and leading the communications strategy to strengthen Capitals Coalition’s positioning as a credible and trusted voice as we transition into our new strategic phase.

With a strong background in strategic communications you will work with the CEO, Executive and Leadership Teams, as well as a wide range of stakeholders to champion the Coalition’s brand and narrative for the new strategy. Managing a small communications function and leveraging our cutting-edge projects and networks, you will amplify the Coalition’s voice and inspire key audiences in business, finance and government.

You will report to the Executive Director and directly manage the Communications Manager. 

What you will do

• Develop - and oversee the implementation of - a new communications strategy and the positioning of the Capitals Coalition with external stakeholders. This includes bringing cohesion across initiatives, amplifying and promoting key outputs and targeting communications to achieve organizational goals.

• Lead and develop a strong narrative for action that is supported by messaging and visual assets and ensure these are embedded across Capitals Coalition communications. This includes determining key audiences, messengers and moments, and identifying key indicators to track and monitor progress. 

• Develop, maintain, and disseminate strategic messaging that underpins both reactive and proactive communications tactics in line with strategic objectives and policy positioning.

• Identify, foster and manage productive and impactful relationships with key communication and engagement stakeholders, including press contacts, communications specialists in partner organizations, and key partners for outputs and events.

• Promote an innovative approach to communications using all media, staying abreast of advancements in the profession to ensure the Capitals Coalition can make best use of a mix of communication channels.

• Drive creative insights and strategic thinking across the Capitals Coalition with respect to communications to maximize impact and reach.

• Build relationships by representing the Coalition on external working groups, at events, and in the media as appropriate.

• Support, prepare and coach staff, spokespeople and board members for media interviews and visits and provide guidance across the organization about dealing with the media.

• Manage the Capitals Coalition’s in-house communications team including setting objectives, leading on annual appraisals, and recruitment.

• As a member of the Leadership Team, support the Executive Team in fostering cohesion and collaboration across the Capitals Coalition. 

• Take on additional tasks as required to support the delivery of the Capitals Coalition’s strategic and operational plans. 

What we’re looking for  

• 12+ years of experience in strategic communications and/or PR and at least 5 years of experience managing others; 

• Experience developing and executing a communications strategy for a global organization, using knowledge of how communications supports the delivery of wider organizational goals; 

• Experience developing, supporting and executing advocacy campaigns;

• Experience in economic transformation, new economics or sustainability fields including excellent understanding of economic transformation, sustainability and business issues and ability to anticipate and adapt messaging in relation to context and audience; 

• Ability to summarize and synthesize complex reports, findings and information to make them accessible for a diverse audience; 

• Knowledge of branding and design is an asset; 

• Proven leadership with seasoned judgment, the ability to make decisions, justify recommendations and be responsive, clear and firm with colleagues and partners;

• Comfortable advising and engaging with subject matter experts and senior leaders;

• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, motivate, and lead colleagues; 

• Experience working independently and also collaboratively with a small team, and comfort with adapting to changing situations;

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
