Are you our new Director?
•Are you a collaborative and experienced leader and manager?
•Are you committed to defending human rights and human dignity, and passionate about issues affecting marginalised and excluded people?
•Are you able to build trusting, respectful and creative relationships?
•Do you have a sound understanding of grant making, or perhaps sub-granting, or commissioning?
If so, then you might well be the right person to join us at this exciting time.
Our priorities and approach
• The human rights framework• The criminal legal system
• Migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum• Access to justice
The A B Charitable Trust exists to promote human dignity and defend the human rights of the most marginalised and excluded people. Our approach is founded on liberal principles of universalism and human rights. We believe in justice, not charity. For us, this means supporting work that promotes rather than diminishes dignity. It also means supporting efforts to change the systems that shape the lives of marginalised and excluded people in pernicious ways. We have a particular interest in work that uses the law to address inequities and injustices.
Our journey
The Trust was founded 33 years ago to promote and defend human dignity. Since then, we have given £33.4m to organisations, and this year we will spend some £8m. We have significantly increased our grantmaking over recent years and intend to continue a trajectory of growth.
Over the years the board has developed into a mix of both family and independent trustees, all of whom bring a wealth of experiences, skills and a shared passion for the work. Our talented executive team brings a high level of knowledge, expertise and skill both around grant making and our priority areas.
About the role and you
The key purpose of this role is to work closely and collaboratively with the trustees and executive teams to:
·Provide strategic leadership and management
·Have oversight / management of ABCT’s grants portfolio and our partnerships, ensuring we meet our priorities.
·Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
·Build a culture of learning and best practice in ABCT’s work.
The new Director will be critical in shaping how the Trust continues to grow and develop, so candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a relevant leadership and management background and a passion for the work.
This could be the right opportunity for a range of potential candidates. We really want to hear from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and we particularly encourage people with lived experience to apply.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role then please contact Allyson Davies (see link) who is advising and supporting the trustees in this appointment.
We value, welcome and respect all the differences that make us who we are, including: age, cultural background, disability and mental health, ethnicity and race, sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and social background.
To Apply
First download the Candidate information pack, which has more details and the job description. You will also need the application form and equal opportunities monitoring form. Send these two forms, with your CV, to the email in the pack, by 10am on 1 August.
Are you someone with a passion for campaigns, flair for organisational leadership and a commitment to climate justice? Are you inspired by the challenge of ensuring climate action improves lives, builds consensus and addresses inequality? Do you recognise the power of narrative and framing to win on the big ideas we need to shape the future?
If so, we’d love to hear from you.
As our Interim co-director: campaigns & communications you’ll support and oversee a team of talented campaigners and communicators delivering our vision of a zero carbon Britain built by, and for, everyone. You’ll lend your strategic expertise to ensure that our mission of inspiring people to take the action the climate crisis demands is fine tuned to the real opportunities and challenges that surround us. You’ll contribute your creativity to translating climate urgency into socially just and workable proposals the public can get behind - and get stuck into. And you’ll bring your expertise in organisational leadership to bear on our collective leadership model, responding to an ever shifting context while contributing to our strategic development.
This interim role is designed to cover a 12 month parental leave period, and will join during a period of wider organisational change. This creates opportunities for impact, but presents challenges too. You’ll therefore be someone who is comfortable working within organisational change, is able to adapt quickly to new circumstances, take initiative - and sees themselves as a team player.
The role sits within a collaborative leadership team, comprising two Co-directors until July 2025, and three from July-November 2025 (due to a Co-director returning from sabbatical). The Co-directors are jointly responsible for the strategic, efficient, sustainable and impactful running - and development - of the organisation, with each being assigned specific areas of accountability across key functions.
About Possible
Our values Daring, Joy and Community guide our actions and our organisational culture. Here at Possible, we have a vision for a zero carbon Britain that has been built by and belongs to everybody. Our mission is to inspire people in the UK to take the action the climate crisis demands.
We create, build, and share ways people can take meaningful action on climate change together. We translate overwhelming climate urgency into socially just and workable proposals the public can get behind. And we do it all with a can-do attitude and stubborn optimism.
We have made a commitment to make Possible an anti-oppressive place to work. We’re doing the work to undo inequalities and oppressive systems reflected in wider society, and are an inclusive and welcoming group that wants our team mates and the communities we work with to be able to thrive.
We believe that our team and our projects should reflect the diversity of the communities they seek to serve. We particularly welcome applications from marginalised groups, especially people of colour and other ethnic minorities, people who identify as LGBTQIA, disabled people, those who are neurodivergent, people who have experienced mental health challenges and those who identify as working class or have done so in the past.

Do you want to shape the future of our response to stalking and personal safety?
Do you have resilience and flexibility, to meet the demands this role brings, and enjoy working in a sharing and learning environment?
If yes, then read on.
ABOUT SUZY LAMPLUGH TRUST:
This post represents an opportunity for the right candidate to join the UK’s founding personal safety charity and leading authority on stalking.
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was born out of the tragic story of Suzy Lamplugh, a 25-year-old estate agent who went missing whilst at work in 1986, was never found, and was eventually declared deceased in 1993. The Trust was set up in Suzy’s name and continues to be a pioneer in reducing the risk and prevalence of abuse, aggression and violence - with a specific focus on stalking and harassment – through education, campaigning and support.
You will be working for a growing charity that delivers high value impact to those we train, those we educate, those we support and to the general public through our campaigning and policy work. Our Stalking Helpline offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year, while our bespoke advocacy teams work closely with partners and stakeholders across the Violence Against Women and Girls’ (VAWG) sector, the criminal justice system, and both statutory and non-statutory services to ensure our clients can live a live free from abuse and fear.
We are an organisation that has:
- been responsible for training over one million lone and frontline workers across all sectors in personal safety;
- campaigned heavily and played a pivotal role in driving changes in the law to better protect people across the UK; and
- supported over 75,000 victims and survivors of stalking since the inception of our National Stalking Helpline and stalking advocacy service.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is about making a difference, supporting the most vulnerable, standing up against what is wrong, driving systemic change, and holding decision makers to account. We work hard so our beneficiaries sleep better at night, so families can reunite at the end of the working day, and so that victims of harassment and stalking are given the chance to regain control of their situations.
- As Director of Finance, HR and Governance, you will lead, continually improve and be held accountable for the Trust’s financial performance.
- You will have overall responsibility for HR and core areas of organisational support including IT, GDPR, and office administration.
- You will be a pivotal member of the Executive Team, providing strategic leadership in developing and managing Finance, HR and Governance.
- You will contribute to the implementation and delivery of the Trust’s strategy to secure long-term financial health and growth, enabling us to achieve our vision and mission.
Please read the attached Job Description and Person Specification for full details.

As Director of Services, you will work closely with the CEO, leading on the management of the Adult Services, Youth Services and Family Services workstreams within the charity, ensuring the high quality service provision for which we are known. The role sits within the senior leadership team at CAAS, alongside the Finance Director, and manages the Youth Services Manager, the Family Services Manager and the Adult Services Manager, who in turn manage around 20 staff between them.
The Director of Services provides a crucial role in ensuring the infrastructure and operational workings of the charity are effective for the more than 30 staff we employ, and the more than 11,000 instances of support we provide each year. Therefore, we are looking for a capable, calm, self-motivated, organised and hard-working Services professional who has worked in a management role directly responsible for service delivery in another charity.
The role requires strong organisation skills, excellent communication and relationship building skills, significant experience of operational service delivery, team leadership experience, the ability to articulate and drive our impact, and a good understanding of fundraising and monitoring requirements in a medium sized charity. Ultimately you will have the drive to ensure that everyone who works for us, and everyone who seeks support from us, has the best possible experience.
There is no requirement for any experience of delivering services that support ADHD / autistic individuals, as we will provide training, but it would be helpful to have a good understanding of the conditions, and the strengths and challenges they may bring. A genuine acceptance of diversity and a keenness to make an impact are essential.

· Ensure overall service management across the different teams is complimentary and effective, that clients are triaged appropriately throughout the different service offer, that there are appropriate routes for clients to move through the different services, and that best practice is shared, and learnings incorporated right across our work.
· To ensure services are accessible to our clients, that projects are begun, maintained or stopped in a planned and thoughtful manner, and that the services we provide offer the very best support that is possible for our clients, taking into consideration latest research and understanding about the conditions, and about the people we wish to reach.
· To have specific responsibility for the risk management within services, for both clients and for projects. To review risk assessments, and ensure appropriate mitigations are developed and actioned.
· Participate in the recruitment and induction of all new services staff, and ensure that all service staff receive appropriate professional development plans and performance targets
