We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a commitment to animal welfare to join us as a Deputy Centre Manager at our thriving Nottingham site. You will join us working 21 hours per week on a rota basis (to include weekends) and in return you will receive a salary of up to £16,077.60 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Responsibilities of our Deputy Centre Manager:

As Deputy Centre Manager you will be tasked with managing our established Centre in line with Cats Protection’s main aims of homing, neutering and educating. You will ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard that is in keeping with our vision. A flexible approach to working hours including the ability to work weekends will be required as all centre employees are expected to work 50% of weekends and some evenings.

What we’re looking for in our Deputy Centre Manager:

• Supervisor/team leader experience, ideally within an animal welfare environment or organisation
• A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of the prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats
• A driven, positive and enthusiastic individual with plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure
• Experience of managing a diverse team
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
• A full UK, manual or automatic driving licence as you may on occasion be required to drive centre vans

Essential:

About the role

The NextGen Programme and Membership Manager will have the following key priorities:

·To actively manage and promote the NextGen initiative, grow the community and develop its offering.

·To develop and maintain key relationships with internal staff as well as external stakeholders, ambassadors, partners and funders of the NextGen programme

·Support the membership team with account management of selected organisation members

·Part of a small team, we are looking for an energetic individual with a can-do attitude, who will be able to bring self-starting energy and passion to the role.

   Key tasks

·Evolve and execute a NextGen marketing plan (branding, communications, dedicated webspace on RUSI site, promotion via partners, social media etc)

·Prepare a monthly newsletter and grow/manage all social media activities

·Organise and deliver a series of NextGen events (monthly minimum), dealing with speakers, venues, logistics, communications etc.

·Actively manage the sign-up/registrations and onboarding processes

·Organise meetings and support the NextGen Steering Group of staff and Ambassador volunteers

·Develop a funding strategy and support with converting NextGen members into RUSI members

·Pomotion of the NextGen programme to internal and external stakeholders – creating awareness, support and understanding of it’s mission  

·Account management of selected existing organisation members. This includes scheduling catch-up meetings, arranging private briefings, making connections to relevant research teams, event registrations, and dealing with general day to day requests of members

·Use ReadyMembership (CRM system) to track and manage member activities whilst following an account management plan

·Nurture relationships with RUSI organisation members, working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to identify opportunities to expand members level of involvement

·Identify oganisation members interests and feed these into areas of the institute that support membership

Essential skills and experience:

Conference Organiser and Business Development Coordinator

(Fixed term for 12 months maternity cover)

Salary: £35k per annum

Location: Hybrid - Home-based & WC2A (min 1 day a week)

The role:

Working as part of a small team, the Conference Organiser and Business Development Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinating the planning, management, relationship coordination, creative development and delivery of the SCTS Annual conference.
• Maintaining and monitoring the society’s annual conference budget.
• Explore & identify new income streams for the annual conference.
• Create and sell sponsorship packages to medical companies.
• Ensuring the design and delivery of  the exhibition floorspace.
• Create themes & graphic designs for conference advertising material.

About you:

We are looking for an organised, accurate and effective multitasker and team player who can demonstrate hands-on experience in planning, coordinating and delivering conferences and / or large events along with coordinating all of the financial and sponsorship aspects of these.

You must also be a proactive, innovative, team-worker with good communication skills who can work collaboratively with many stakeholders. 

Willingness to learn new skills and software is key, as is experience with finance and accounting software such as Xero.

The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) is a professional society for all healthcare professionals involved and interested in cardiothoracic surgery. 

This role supports the main purpose of advancing science in the field of cardiothoracic surgery for the benefit of the public by encouraging and promoting excellence in the practice of cardiothoracic surgery.

The SCTS Meetings team is responsible for organising and delivering the SCTS Annual Conference for all categories of professionals including Consultants, Medical Practitioners, Nationally Appointed Surgical Trainees, Trust appointed doctors and Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

The team work flexibly from home and on site at least one day a week (but more will be required for initial training) at our office based in the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Central London.

Job Purpose and Summary 

Do you want to be part of an exciting and varied fundraising programme?

Currently, our student team supports hundreds of students per year to take part in some incredible fundraising challenges. This includes national and international treks and marathons, such as climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking across the Morocco High Atlas Mountains or running 26.2 miles through Budapest. 

We have two roles available for Student Fundraising Assistants to work with the current team across campuses in the UK and one in Ireland. With the purpose to engage with students at our partner universities and inspire them to join us on a fuindraising challenge to defeat meningitis and tick off a bucket list adventure.

The Student Fundraising Assistant will support the student team with recruiting students to take on one of these challenges. Some primary tasks and activities will include attending freshers' fairs, presenting about Meningitis Research Foundation’s student programme at information meetings and making phone calls to those who have registered their interest.

This role requires strong prioritisation and communication skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role. What we are really looking for is someone passionate about making a difference and who is confident and outgoing when talking to new people. You will be the face and voice of the cause when talking to students. 

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but this role is flexible and is open to remote working with regular visits to universities across the UK.

We offer an annual salary of £23,000 (pro-rata), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year (pro-rata). You will report to the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events and Community) within the Fundraising Team and work closely with the Student Team who will assign day-to-day activities.

• Make telephone calls to students who have registered interest in a challenge; answering questions, assisting with concerns and helping to overcome barriers to entry such as fundraising targets.

• Occasional need to assist with social media content e.g. creation of Instagram stories or posts using Canva. 

• Other duties as reasonable requested by the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) or Head of Fundraising.

We have an opportunity to work on a new project as our Befriending Development Coordinator.

You will work closely with Greenwich residents aged 50 years + and other relevant stakeholders to enable a programme of services, events and activities which seek to improve their health and wellbeing. It will target those who are lonely, isolated, and living in disadvantaged parts of the borough.

This post is based in our offices at Sherard Road in Eltham but will involve work across the borough of Greenwich so the ability to travel easily is important.
