Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point. 

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken. 

About the role

This is an exciting time to join ASC. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly. We have more than doubled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue going forward. We are seeking a committed and customer focused Helpdesk Analyst to join our IT team. You will have a passion for technology and a proactive approach to problem solving. Your role will involve diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues. You will also advocate for the use of both current and emergent technologies, as well as facilitating the training of our team to effectively utilise these tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support to users by responding to helpdesk queries via phone, email, or in person.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
• Manage our IT Ticketing systems in Monday 
• Escalate complex problems to the appropriate IT support teams, both internally and externally.
• Maintain accurate records of helpdesk interactions, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
• Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance IT systems and processes.
• Contribute to the development of user guides and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with the business support team to streamline IT hardware procurement processes and co-develop better working practices, maintain an equipment log, manage the refreshment of returned laptops, and oversee telephone service, reviewing contracts for efficiency and fit.
• Assist with helping to codesign the on/off boarding of new/leaving members of staff and help manage the resulting tasks including data protection actions.
• Assist with new software rollouts in both their configuration and in staff training.
• Help introduce new digital tools within the organisation and improve adoption and usage. This will involve matching needs and running pilots, change and embedding processes.
• Work with external providers to ensure a high quality of service is maintained in the organisation.
• Create and manage a set of standard guidelines for using our digital tools effectively, and devise ways to promote their use. Additionally, manage the training programme that support these tools adoption.
• Support the CTO as required in any duties which you could be reasonably expected to perform in line with this job description.

This is an exciting role in our Supported Accommodation team that will be the first point of contact for the hostel and assist by inputting information on the client database to ensure that all staff have timely and accurate information about residents. You will also assist the Registered Manager in recording and reviewing documentation in relation to the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and our registration and regulation under OFSTED. Your role

War Child’s Database Executive is responsible for supporting the Data Lead and Database Coordinator in the day-to-day implementation, utilisation and maintenance of our database, Salesforce. War Child uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters and stakeholders.

The Database Executive works with the data team to support all UK teams to ensure Salesforce is fit for purpose and enables day to day donor relationship management and data management. Whilst this role and the rest of the data team services all teams at War Child UK, a significant focus will be on the Fundraising & Communications department and especially the Supporter Engagement team who are responsible for recruiting and stewarding individual giving donors and recruitment of new donors through the acquisition programmes.  This also includes being responsible for improving and maintaining data quality and achieving excellent supporter data through data selection for mass marketing appeals, importing, exporting supporter data, and successfully implementing a range of data cleansing projects.

Your responsibilities

· Supporting the Data Lead with improving and maintaining the War Child UK Salesforce database.

· Working closely with Fundraising and Compliance teams to ensure accurate data collection.

· Work collaboratively with  the data team with a variety of data projects.

· Carrying out  selections for mass marketing appeals.

· Be the first point of contact alongside the Database Coordinator for queries from across the organization. Proactively resolving queries / errors and requests in a timely and efficient manner using the Salesforce Case Ticketing system.

· Support and take ownership of a range of data cleansing projects to ensure data quality. 

· Carry out accurate and timely importing and exporting of supporter data from appeals.   

· Ensure the highest standards of data hygiene are adhered to when running data checks when preparing files for importing/exporting.

· Support the Data Lead with the upkeep of policy and procedure documents.

· Work with external agencies and stakeholders to successfully complete data projects within agreed timeframes and to a high standard.

Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups. We have supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.

With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
 

• creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
• sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and
• providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.

This role will mobilise, develop and innovate our existing offer into a new Peer Support Community Hub with the focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders. You will support and build our Kinship peer support community.

About the role
The role of the Peer Community Innovation Lead is to oversee and take accountability for sustaining kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model.

In this context, your team is the centralised ‘hub’ of the service, delivering an exciting programme of training, speakers, toolkits and resources to help peer support group leaders develop, build and sustain their group well. Your team will build and develop this ‘peer support community hub’. This will include annual in person celebrations.

Your team will make sure groups feel connected and supported, learn from each other and build a powerful and resilient peer community. 

Managing a national team of three, you will develop a strategy and operational plan to build on and mobilise a new peer support community.

You’ll understand the power of relationships and be an excellent communicator. You’ll understand how communities hold their own power and your team will help unlock that. An excellent communicator, you’ll develop external specialist partnerships to support group sustainability. You’ll ensure through the National Peer Support Connector role that peer communities are connected and engaging with the new National Kinship Care Ambassador to share insight and best practice.

You’ll be comfortable with using digital technology and tools to build communities, relationships and develop resources.

The Fundraising Coordinator will play a pivotal role within the Supporter Services team, ensuring transactions and donations are processed according to strict guidelines. This role covers for the Supporter Care Officer during absences to maintain exemplary service, ultimately ensuring the development of long-term loyalty amongst our supporters. Key duties include: 

• Manage daily tasks including post opening, cheque processing and banking. 

• Work with CRM Manager to ensure all records are accurate and current. 

• Propose and collaborate on admin improvements within the Fundraising department. 

• Feedback on updates from the Fundraising Regulator and other key organisations. 

• Conduct Regular Giving admin, ensuring Donors are contacted for missed payments. 

• Undertake special projects as required, such as prospect research.

• Ensure Gift Aid Declarations are scanned and accurately processed onto Donorfy. 

 
We’re looking for the following skills and experience: 
  

• Proven experience of providing admin support in a fast-paced environment, ideally within the charity sector. 

• Proven experience of working in a customer facing role. 

• Familiarity with GDPR principles, ICO, HMRC and other relevant regulatory guidelines. 

• Experience in managing post opening and management activity. 

• Proven experience with offline donation processing, batching and banking procedures. 

• Experience of data entry techniques of working with a CRM to optimise data integrity.

• Oversee key operational responsibilities and facilitate effective communication both internally and with our external partners.
• Play a crucial role in making sure the team operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Accountabilities

Administrative and Event Support:

• Coordinate team purchases to ensure necessary resources are available.

• Manage receipt and bank card transactions to maintain financial accuracy.

• Team scheduling, including managing rooms and meeting calendars, to optimise team coordination.

• Team travel management to coordinate logistics and support organisational activities.

• Equipment assessment and procurement to maintain and upgrade necessary tools and infrastructure.

• Support the People Manager with coordination and organisation of Team Reset Days

Data and CRM Management:

• Update and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

• Manage payment platforms to facilitate smooth financial operations.

• Managing external inboxes to ensure timely communication and response.

• Support the Head of Operations in the delivery of CRM training to the team

Legal and Compliance Support:

• Initiate legal cases via the pro bono platform, aligning with Big Change legal requirements.

• Support the annual audit process to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Support the Head of Operations to ensure high standards of data security and GDPR compliance, including training and development. Act as a DPO for the organisation.

IT and Workspace Management:

• Serve as a primary contact for IT and other workspace-related issues, ensuring a functional and efficient work environment.

• Act as the office liaison with our hosts, Virgin Management Limited, to maintain a smooth operational relationship and ensure compliance with host policies.

Financial Operations (supporting the Finance Manager):

• Support accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely processing of transactions.

• Managing some donation processing to support organisational funding needs.

• Team expenses management to ensure accurate tracking and reimbursement.

• Manage accounts and subscriptions to ensure continuous service and budget alignment.

• Monitor and manage some core budget areas.

General Support:

• Support onboarding and offboarding of Big Change team members. 

• Handle tasks arising from strategic objectives as directed by the line manager.

• Prepare ad-hoc research pieces around operational systems and processes.

• Provide support for additional ad hoc tasks that enhance the team's functionality.

Skills / capabilities:

• Organisation: coordinating meetings.

• Administration: proficient in handling administrative duties.

• Communication: liaising with team members, external partners, and other stakeholders.

• Problem-Solving: identify problems quickly and develop effective solutions, particularly when managing logistical or operational challenges.

• Technological: competent using office software, CRM system, and the ability to manage digital records and communications tools.

• Financial: manage financial records, understand budgeting, and handle accounts payable/receivable efficiently.

• Adaptable and Flexible: able to adjust to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications / experience

• Project Management: experience in coordinating team logistics and events,  purchases, and scheduling, as well as managing equipment procurement.

• Proficiency with CRM and Office Technology: demonstratable ability to utilise CRM systems and proficiency with office technology for data management and operational efficiency.

• Some understanding of Legal and Audit Processes: knowledge of legal compliance and familiarity with audit processes to ensure organisational adherence to regulations.

• Experience in Financial Operations: proven track record of managing financial transactions, including accounts receivable and payable, donation processing, and team expense tracking.

• Understanding of data protection legislation.

About this job

You'll play a key role in supporting continued income and participant growth through our portfolio of sporting, challenge, community fundraising activities, and mass participation products.

In this role, you'll lead the development of a cohesive marketing strategy and insight-led approach to product development for our community and events fundraising team. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to reach, engage, and build meaningful long-term relationships with our supporters. You'll champion an insight-driven and engagement-first approach to marketing and product development, with our audiences at its core.

You'll innovate and test new marketing channels, products, and approaches. You'll stay up-to-date with the latest marketing and sector trends and identify opportunities to ensure we can proactively respond to an evolving external environment.

A key part of your role will be to lead our team of supporter-facing Fundraising Executives and ensure they provide consistent and exceptional supporter stewardship to our incredible fundraisers.

Who are we looking for?

You will likely have experience in a similar role for another charity or significant experience in:

• Marketing events (particularly organisation owned and digital products, as this is a development stream for us)
• Developing community-based products with central marketing budgets
• Supporter stewardship

Feasibility and insight will be the backbone of your work. You'll be able to demonstrate how you've used data to drive decisions and develop products and campaigns. You'll also be digitally savvy, and an ability to create and manage Meta campaigns would be a great advantage.

Being at the centre of the Community and Events team, your communication skills and ability to build strong, outcome-focused relationships will be key to your success.
