Role Title: Fundraising Admin Volunteer

Overall Aim
Housing for Women (H4W) is a charity and a housing provider with a mission to empower women and challenge inequality. We support women through affordable housing, help women and children escaping domestic abuse, survivors of trafficking, women leaving prison and older women.
We are looking for a Fundraising Volunteer to support the Fundraising Team. This will involve key tasks such as updating records on our Salesforce CRM system helping to reorganise the fundraising filing system and some comms work.

Key Responsibilities
1. Administration
· To update and maintain our list of contacts on our Salesforce CRM
· To reorganise fundraising files and maintain an orderly system.
· To assist the team in dealing promptly with enquiries,
· To assist in the contact with donors,
· To assist the team in keeping fundraising systems and records up to date,
· To support the team with the planning and delivery of events to achieve fundraising targets.
2. Other
· To attend meetings including one to one meetings as and when required,
· To Act in accordance with the aims of Housing for Women
· To Promote and implement Housing for Women’s Equal Opportunities Policy and other polices adopted by the Board
Availability
We are looking for someone who can commit to 7 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. We are flexible with the days and hours, but the volunteer will be expected to be able to attend occasional pre-arranged virtual meetings during regular working hours.

Additional Information
· Core training and induction will be provided prior to commencing the role
· We reimburse genuine out of pocket travel expenses (London zones 1- 6) to and from the place of volunteering and up to £5 a day for lunch expenses

Experience and Knowledge
· An interest in fundraising including corporate fundraising
· Computer literate and good working knowledge of MS Office packages, i.e. Word and Excel as well as Salesforce or other CRM systems
· Some experience or understanding of fundraising
· Experience dealing with the public through retail, face to face or telephone fundraising, etc.
· Able to access secure internet connection.

Role Overview
As our fundraising specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in garnering the resources that drive our mission forward. Success in this position means effectively tapping into funding opportunities and strengthening our engagement with donors and supporters. Through this role, you will gain significant experience about the entire fundraising process, both for nonprofits and private entities, as well as learn about the world of sustainable finance and how technology can positively contribute to it.
Commitment
- This role is currently volunteer-based.
- We are seeking a commitment of 5-10 hours per week.
- We are looking for somebody to come on long-term, but are open to shorter-term applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Vet new funding opportunities for suitability using our CRM and provided training resources.
- Apply for existing funding opportunities from foundations and/or investors.
- Assist in grant-writing and the grant application process.
- Collaborate on developing and executing crowdfunding initiatives.
- Occasionally draft compelling fundraising emails for our newsletter subscribers, articulating our mission and needs.

Working closely with the Membership and Information Coordinator, this role involves meeting with community food members to review their requirements, and ensure that the food they receive from FareShare is being stored and distributed in accordance with FareShare regulations. The role includes travelling to CFM premises across Greater Manchester and carrying out office based administration.
Where? Maynard House, New Smithfield Market. Openshaw M11 2WJ
Hours? Monday to Friday. Start times between 09:00 -10:00 for a minimum four hour shift
How often? Volunteers are typically involved for one shift a week.
Support? The role is supported by the FareShare Membership Coordinator.
What will I be doing?
Arranging meetings with members by telephone or email.
Carrying out the offsite meetings, including completing a checklist and taking note of customer queries or concerns.
Following up on any required actions with the customer, and internally with the FareShare Membership Coordinator.
Inputting/updating data on to the database.
Answering phones and taking messages.
Completing and filing all paperwork accurately

ABOUT FARESHARE
FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,500 frontline charities and community groups, (CFMs), including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week we provide enough food to create almost one million meals for vulnerable people.
FareShare Greater Manchester has been run by EMERGE 3Rs since 2008. EMERGE is a charity that has been active in the 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) since 1996. From our regional centre based on New Smithfield Market we redistribute food to over 250 CFMs.

Training
A full induction followed by a ‘Taster’ session progressing to ongoing training for the role, by on-the-job training and e-learning.
What you can expect from the volunteer role
