We are looking for a Specialist Housing Advocate
Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 (pro rata)
Location: Hammersmith (with possible co-location with key partners)
Hours: 28 OR 35 Hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term until March 2025

About the role:
The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.
To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About the role:
This role is based at our West Bromwich office with the option of hybrid working from home. Travel across the area is required, travelling time is within working hours & expenses are reimbursed. The hours for this role are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 8am to 4pm & Tuesday 12pm to 8pm.
As a Caseworker you will:
- Effectively managing a caseload, delivering excellent services via telephone, video call and in person to support service users
- Assessing need and risk at initial contact and on an on-going basis
- Developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans for those affected by crime, who accept ongoing support. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
- Helping service users build healthy coping mechanisms and providing practical support and information
- Identifying and providing action to safeguarding concerns
- Working collaboratively with key partners
- Using a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contributing to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes
- Delivering awareness raising sessions on the impact of crime to partner agencies and community groups and participating in community events.
You will need:
- An understanding of the impact of crime
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s)

About the role:
This role is based in our Islington office with the flexibility of hybrid working. As a Children & Young People's Caseworker, you will:
- Conduct needs and risk assessments to ensure each CYP receives an individual support package that meets their needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support.
- Provide one to one support to children & young people living in families affected by domestic abuse, managing a caseload of approx. 12-15
- Regularly review the assessment of risk ensuring appropriate action is taken, making referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes
- Consult & involve children & young people in making decisions about themselves & service developments
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, attending meetings as required
You will need:
- Experience working directly with vulnerable children & young people aged 4 - 17, on a one to one basis, with a proven ability to engage these clients through creative & appropriate methods
- Knowledge of risk assessment & taking appropriate action to safeguard as required
- An understanding of the issues for children & young people experiencing crime, domestic abuse and relationship abuse
- Ability to work with both internal & external stakeholders
- Effective organisational skills, able to prioritise effectively whilst maintaining accurate & confidential case records

About the role:
We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to be based at Luton & Dunstable Hospital this role will compliment the Hospital IDVA based at Bedford Hospital. This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse predominately risk assessed as standard/medium to compliment our high risk service across Bedfordshire. This is a key role at the hospital working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.
As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
- Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to hospital staff and local partner agencies
You will need:
- Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
- To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
- To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

About the role:
This role is based in London and offers hybrid working both from home and our office in Singer Street. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate for Male Victims you will:
- implement effective ways of working with male victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
- provide a high-quality, front-line service to male victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
- specialise and be leading practitioner for Male victims of domestic abuse; providing advice, guidance and single point of contact for a male victims
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
- Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

About the role:
This role is based in our Stafford or possibly our Stoke-on-Trent office, working flexibly across the area. The service will be delivered as per service user requirements, via schools and safe community settings. Birmingham Young People’s Service provides holistic support services for young people 10 to 25 with needs related to alcohol and substance misuse, including those that are affected by a family members alcohol and substance misuse.

All Complex Needs Practitioners are expected to work days, evenings, and weekends across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, when required. As an energetic and confident self-starter, you will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, Dip SW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the health & social care field, education settings, alcohol, and substance misuse fields with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.

We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.
To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:
To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved in mental health services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

About the role:
You will be joining a passionate and committed team who provide high quality and bespoke support to service users. We pride ourselves on exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all service users.
You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users. You will have resilience and adaptability; understand the importance of professional boundaries; have excellent listening skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy. You will enjoy the challenge of a busy caseload and will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisation skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload.
As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards.
You will need to be able to travel to home visits within, and occasionally outside of area, and therefore a driving license and use of a car are essential. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.
