The role
We are looking to recruit a fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) FP&A Manager to lead a newly established Business Planning team for the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The Foundation has an annual expenditure of £17m and employs 180 people in the UK, Ireland, India and the USA. We are anticipating further growth in the coming years.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead all aspects of the annual business planning and budgeting cycle and monthly reporting to the Foundation’s management and Trustees. You will partner with the Foundation’s Financial Controller and leadership team to provide insight and help inform decision making. The role will include financial planning, budgeting and analysis, and management accounting. You will lead a highly-skilled team, including the current Business Operations Manager and a Finance Apprentice.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an international organisation. You will have strong analytical ability and attention to detail and excellent business partnering skills. You will be accustomed to working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and will be used to presenting and communicating financial information to non-finance people.

Responsibilities
- Oversee annual business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

AKF(UK) Senior Partnerships Managers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. They engage with European, Asian and North American government and foundation donors to mobilise resources for ten multi-sector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. In addition, Senior Partnership Managers are responsible for reporting and donor relations on a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners. This role will also include line management responsibilities.
Resource Mobilisation
• Support the Partnerships team to broker and cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones with institutional (bilateral and multilateral) and foundations donors
• Lead the development and review of concept notes and proposals (solicited and unsolicited), including logical frameworks and budgets, in close coordination with the Global Programme Team (GPT) and country teams.
• Develop and contribute to positioning pieces and communication materials (e.g. presentations, narrative overviews) to enable regular and effective engagement with donors
• When needed, provide direct hands-on support at country level in design of concept notes, proposals, and budgets and conduct donor or field visits to support discussions with new and existing donors/partners.
• Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way.
• Contribute to management systems, such as the Award Information Management System (AIMS).
Donor engagement and positioning
• Research, source relevant information, and perform analysis of market trends on new donors, peer organisations, and funding opportunities to identify potential funding and partnering matches for AKF and AKDN priorities.
• Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams to enable effective donor engagement.
• Engage with new and existing donors and partners to identify solicited and unsolicited funding opportunities.
• Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests).
• Identify, cultivate, and pre-position with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids.
• Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.
Grants management
• Manage grants through regular coordination with relevant AKDN agencies/country units and the finance department to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. Proactively support the resolution of challenges as they arise.
• Support the preparation, review and feedback process on donor reports to ensure reports comply with donor requirements and are produced on time and to a high standard.
• Be an interface with donors and communicate on a regular basis about the implementation of on-going grants to maintain a solid relationship and to address queries or challenges effectively.
Networking and building public awareness
• Participate and actively engage in relevant networking events/conferences to build awareness of AKF/AKDN with the UK and European public more broadly.
• Interface with the Communications team to identify opportunities and support the planning of events either directly targeting or planned jointly with AKF’s institutional donors (e.g., FCDO, EC).
Leadership and People Management
• Play a leadership role in the unit by setting the example of consistently high standards
• Work with the Partnerships Officers to effectively manage grants and to develop and improve quality of concept notes and proposals

Human Practice Foundation (HPF) is searching for a UK Country Manager to join the team and further establish the organisation in this market. The charity’s mission is to work sustainably and holistically to build schools and bring 1,000,000 children into a safe and empowering educational environment, with a focus in Nepal and Kenya.
The UK Country Manager will prioritise continuing the growth of the charity’s funds and will work with an existing network of trusts & foundations and philanthropic individuals, as well as continuing to spread HPF’s message.

Role purpose and dimensions:
- Design and implement a UK Fundraising Strategy, particularly aimed at foundations, institutions, corporates and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWI) in the UK, capable of delivering significant income growth over the next 3-5 years.

Human Practice Foundation (HPF) is an International NGO, founded in Denmark in 2014 by former corporate lawyer and HPF CEO, Pernille Kruse Madsen. After witnessing the devastating fates of girls being trafficked from Nepal to India for sexual exploitation, Pernille decided to commit her life to providing education and opportunities for those who need it the most.
Today, HPF has registered charities in Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK as well as independent NGOs in Nepal and Kenya. The organisation employs 90 people and follows a holistic community approach, using schools as a platform for change. HPF builds schools, improves infrastructure, implements quality education programmes, and stimulates local economies through business building and agricultural impact programmes. The context for this role:
This new position, created to lead HPF’s mission in the UK, and lead Trust and Foundation fundraising efforts globally, is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter to build on HPF’s success and grow its income from UK and international foundations, institutions and corporations, as well as UK-based high net worth individuals.
HPF seeks a highly motivated, experienced and successful fundraising professional with the vision and skills to develop and deliver a new three-year fundraising strategy, taking UK income from £270k per annum to £500k+. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level, with no hesitation to roll up their sleeves and be ‘hands on’.
Whilst the initial line management responsibilities are limited to high level volunteers, it is expected that the successful candidate will expand and shape the programme and team for the future.

Role Purpose

The Research Assistant role sits within GDI Hub’s Community Interest Company’s Research and Delivery Team, led by Mikaela Patrick, Head of Research and Delivery.

Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience working or academic study in relevant fields (including working closely and collaboratively with disabled people and disabled people’s organisations is desirable), such as international disability inclusion, assistive and accessible technology, accessibility and inclusive design, disability innovation and global health; with willingness to grow expertise across these areas.
- Ideally have some experience (approx. 2-5 years) working on research projects and/or practice-focused research in a related field. This could be as part of further study, research or in a work capacity. Real work experience is desirable.

The role:

The coalition
Send My Friend to School is a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities.
It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all children across the globe. Each year thousands of schools and young people take part in the campaign, teaching young people the power and importance of using their voices in chorus with others across the globe to create positive change.
Send My Friend to School is the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education movement which is present in over 90 countries around the world.
Location
This role will be employed by Send My Friend to School Steering Group member Results UK, on behalf of the Send My Friend to School coalition, and will be based in Results UK’s office near Waterloo. Hybrid working is in place whereby staff are required to work from the office at least 2 days a week.
Terms & Conditions
This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent post, with a 3 month probation period. We are a world leading delivery and practice centre, an Academic Research Centre at UCL (University College London) and the first WHO Global Collaborating Centre on Assistive Technology (AT). Role Purpose
The Head of Research and Delivery will lead the delivery of programmes, client-facing projects and research initiatives for GDI Hub CIC, working across the key themes of Disability Inclusion, Inclusive Design and Cities, Climate Change, Gender, Financial Inclusion and Assistive Technology. It is expected that the role holder will have considerable experience across at least two of these themes and an appetite for both broadening and deepening their knowledge across the others. They will also collaborate with research leads and teams based across GDI Hub including the Academic Research Centre (ARC) at UCL.
This is a senior, strategic, role responsible for team management and leading key projects, leading client, donor and government relationships, and providing strategic subject matter expertise. It would suit someone with a proven-track record in the sector and requires a strong aptitude for strategic thinking, delivery management and the creation of tenable and evidence-based recommendations. They will be creative and collaborative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.
They will be responsible for delivery on projects and research under their remit and contribute to the development of new projects and research, working closely with partners and clients. Current funders, partners and clients include the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Asian Development Bank, Climate Investment Funds, UNICEF, Carbon Trust and Expo City Dubai. This will involve leading a permanent team of six, which is expected to grow to eight by Q4 2024-25, and any external consultants brought online as required to deliver across a portfolio of work.
Role Responsibilities
Project and Research Delivery and Management
- Lead a growing portfolio of projects under the Research and Delivery team including a current portfolio of circa 10 active projects.
- Leadership of Global Thematic Goods sub-programme under the AT2030 programme, with direct project leadership of 2 workstreams (inclusive infrastructure and inclusive climate resilience).
- Lead the intellectual and strategic management of project delivery, ensuring that projects deliver clear messages aligned to programme targets, client needs and project scope and deliver impact.
- Take overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project delivery and deliverables, ensuring project management processes and procedures are being implemented correctly and outputs are to the highest standard in line with GDI Hub style.
- Provide overall research leadership in GDI HUB CIC, instilling academic rigour and driving innovative and inclusive research, managing researchers to deliver high quality outputs that are evidence-based, meeting internal/external expectations and tailored to target audiences.
- Plan and manage workplans, including emergent risks, challenges, change requests, budgets, travel, schedules, and scope.
Client Management and Reporting
- Manage and develop relationships with partners and stakeholders, to support effective collaboration.
- Provide leadership in client facing discussions, understanding needs and priorities, and linking these to project and team delivery plans.
- Engage with emerging opportunities as appropriate, leading proposal development with the wider team.
- Service project reporting requirements and instruct timely invoicing against project agreements.
Support Communications and External Engagement
- Strategic leadership of external engagement across their portfolio, attending and speaking at events, conferences and project workshops as needed, to drive impact of our work.
- Provide input to communications content and the events pipeline to further raise the profile, reach and impact of GDI Hub’s work.
- Write insight reports, blogs or other content to support communications and external engagement as required.
- Highlight communication, networking and new work opportunities arising from project and client engagements.
Internal Team Management
- Manage and support the research and delivery team ensuring team members are informed, connected and working as a team, ensuring shared understanding of projects and individual delivery responsibilities.
- Work closely with the COO and Programme Management team to ensure sustainable delivery and resource management processes are followed.
- Ensure team resources are used in accordance with project budgets and actively tracked throughout delivery. Review resource capacity and factor into any new project bids or repeat business opportunities.
- Direct line management of Senior Inclusive Design Manager, Senior Financial Inclusion Researcher, Senior Social Researcher and Inclusive Climate Researcher. Support the team in their own line management responsibilities in line with planned activity.
