We are recruiting for a private international charitable foundation which seeks to support environmental recovery, supported by cultures and economies grounded in Earth lore, in line with their “breathe freely” ethos. As such they are committed to grants and other investments that are healing to the climate, to biodiversity, and to human cultural relations with the other-than-human. The foundation is currently based in a Hong Kong family office, with personnel in Hong Kong and the UK, as well as Cameroon, Brazil, Australia, Papua, and the US. The candidate can choose to be in the U.K. or in Hong Kong, working visa can be offered if needed.
The organization has been in a phase of significant growth and change over the last five years and are increasingly bringing systems, data and associated functions in-house to support the record-keeping and analytics they need to inform their growing operations.
Role
This is a new position. Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, you will be involved in all the duties required to maintain a complete general ledger and financial records and support financial planning/forecasting.
International Accountant Responsibilities
— The responsibilities of the International Accountant will include, but are not limited to:
International Accounting Operations
- Develop a General Ledger Chart of Accounts which supports our current grantmaking operations with the flexibility to accommodate various directions in our growth, allows easy consolidation with sister entities, and is IFRS compliant to allow us to provide regulatory and audit reporting in various jurisdictions.
- Implement optimal Chart of Accounts and processes, evaluating current and alternate accounting systems as needed and developing interface processes to existing systems as needed (HRIS, Payroll, Grants Management System, expense reporting) as needed.
- Perform duties necessary for the timely and accurate verification and recording of financial and investment (MRI/PRI) operations including general ledger, entries and reconciliations, investment portfolio tracking and transactions, international payroll, benefits and taxes.
- Work closely with Human Relations Specialist on payroll and benefits administration processes.
- Collaborate with senior management team, Operations Manager and others to determine an optimal process for reviewing and approving expenses.
- Audit corporate credit card(s).
- Identify institution and global consolidated reporting needs with senior management team and agree schedule and distribution for regular financial reporting.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of the annual organisational and department budgets.
- Monitor and provide quarterly budget performance reports and analysis to organisation and departments with close cooperation to develop and implement measures to minimize variance.
- Assist staff to self-manage budgets.
- Support financial planning and forecasting including developing scenarios for growth.
Cash Flow Management
- Reconcile annual and quarterly projected expenses and cash flow requirements and coordinate with family office for redemption decisions.
- With Operations Manager and Human Relations Specialist, maintain and improve policies and organization discipline for accurate and timely processing of accounts payables, employee expense reports, travel guidelines, time reporting, etc.
Regulatory and Audit Compliance (initially in support of regulatory reporting through the family office)
- Strengthen financial systems integrity and controls according to IFRS, tax and regulatory measures and foundation policies.
- Build systems for timely and accurate provision of data and provide direct support for annual audit and tax filing.
- Work with external advisors, as needed, to ensure compliance with relevant country and international regulatory requirements in areas of taxes, documentation requirements, payroll and benefits.
General and Other
- Develop and manage relationships with accounting related service providers as needed including in-country and global accountants, auditors, payroll and tax experts.
- Develop and maintain an asset inventory/schedule.
- Support for MRI/PRI activities as needed.
- Continually improve internal financial processes.
- Potential management of banking relationships, international wire transfers and/or other payment systems.
- Occasional travel as required for the execution of duties.
- Other duties are consistent with the accountant’s role and experience as the foundation continues to evolve, or from time to time as prompted by institutional priorities.
Qualifications
— The successful International Accountant candidate will likely reflect much of the following profile:
Essential
- Several years of progressively responsible professional experience in international accounting, ideally in an international organisation and / or in auditing / tax consulting.
- Accounting experience in philanthropy or non-profit.
- Experience in multiple tax jurisdictions and working in multi-currency environments.
- In-depth IFRS knowledge.
- Excellent, hands-on knowledge of web-based systems including accounting (current platform is Xero), and office suite platforms (proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
- Comfortable in complex and highly matrixed environments. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers across disciplines and functions in shared efforts with proven ability to influence without direct formal authority.
- Comfortable working remotely.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and re-prioritize as needs arise.
- Pleasant and effective communication skills, written and oral. (English is our working language).
- Experiential cross-cultural understanding and perspective, aware and appreciative of differing worldviews and the ability to communicate with and learn from the wide variety of people who comprise our grantees, allies and staff.

- Prior experience with an international non-profit organization or grantmaking foundation.
- Fluency in a second language with preference for dominant languages of one of our working regions (e.g. French, Portuguese, Bahasa, Thai, Lao, Burmese).

The Purpose of the Role
The Community Outreach Worker will engage with clients and partners, assess program eligibility, and provide administrative support. This role focuses on recruiting participants, fostering community relationships, organizing events, and managing logistics. The goal is to support refugees, migrants, and vulnerable groups by ensuring they access necessary services and resources.
Key Working Relationships:

About Lepra
Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. We have just finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.
Background & Context to the Consultancy
Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). With the finalisation of the new strategy, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our impact and efficiency, we are now seeking a consultant to provide specialised research support and technical advice.
Purpose & Objectives of the Consultancy
The primary objectives of this consultancy are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for the following key areas over a six-month period:
Strategy Transition Leadership
- Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.
- Identify and address any gaps or challenges in the current strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth transition.
Operational Plan Management
- Develop a comprehensive operational plan for the rollout of the strategy.

Support Existing Research Profile

Pathway to Sustainability

Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, research institutions, and community leaders.

The Supporter Development Fundraising Lead will play a crucial role. We are looking for a high energy, passionate fundraiser who is highly relational. Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the North region. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the North region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including some overnight stays.
This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed.

Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.
As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
- Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
- Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
- Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.
- Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within dioceses and cathedrals, in particular, their senior leadership teams.
Please note: There are 5 Regional Safeguarding Lead roles available and these roles require home working and travel to dioceses and cathedrals as listed in the regions below, one of which is a part-time role at 0.6 FTE.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.
As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
- Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
- Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
- Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.

Since Brexit, EU citizens in the UK and their family members have been brought under the Hostile Environment. the3million has been providing information to EU citizens and has continuously advocated for a fairer immigration system, especially in making the EU Settlement Scheme more accessible to all.
We provide a platform for EU citizens to become politically active and use their voices to advocate for themselves. The Community Organiser will be part of a team to create opportunities for EU citizens to have increased capacity to engage in activism and lead the change they want to see in the UK, their home.
This role is at an officer level and suitable for people who are looking for their first paid role in Organising, but have had some grassroots experience, even if on an informal or voluntary basis. You can expect to be mentored by an experienced Community Organiser and thereby learn a lot while on the job. - Analyse and report on the PLS customer feedback data to improve our customer experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Highly developed knowledge and experience of data management systems and ability to use statistical and data analysis packages
- Experience analysing large datasets and an understanding of how to gather, segment and report data insight, ideally on customer or audience data
- Experience of developing and managing data dashboards through PowerBI
- Experience of developing data, coding, or analytical best practice within an organisation
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and appreciation of data quality issues
Working environment and benefits
Whilst the role is primarily home based, there is an expectation for the successful candidate to occasionally travel to other parts of the country for team meetings, training and to support the wider team.

Title: Interim Communications Director

Salary scale: EUR 84,460 – EUR 94,760 (inclusive of 8% holiday allowance) / GBP 70,750 – GBP 79,500

Location: Capitals Coalition will consider candidates located in the UK or the Netherlands with existing permission to work in the relevant location. All Coalition team members work remotely with occasional in-person engagement.

About the role
The Capitals Coalition is at an exciting time in its history, as it embarks upon an ambitious ten-year strategy to catalyze action towards accounting for what really matters with key decision makers in the economy.
The Interim Communications Director will play a pivotal role in developing and leading the communications strategy to strengthen Capitals Coalition’s positioning as a credible and trusted voice as we transition into our new strategic phase.
With a strong background in strategic communications you will work with the CEO, Executive and Leadership Teams, as well as a wide range of stakeholders to champion the Coalition’s brand and narrative for the new strategy. Managing a small communications function and leveraging our cutting-edge projects and networks, you will amplify the Coalition’s voice and inspire key audiences in business, finance and government.

You will report to the Executive Director and directly manage the Communications Manager.
What you will do

Develop - and oversee the implementation of - a new communications strategy and the positioning of the Capitals Coalition with external stakeholders. This includes bringing cohesion across initiatives, amplifying and promoting key outputs and targeting communications to achieve organizational goals.

Lead and develop a strong narrative for action that is supported by messaging and visual assets and ensure these are embedded across Capitals Coalition communications. This includes determining key audiences, messengers and moments, and identifying key indicators to track and monitor progress.

Develop, maintain, and disseminate strategic messaging that underpins both reactive and proactive communications tactics in line with strategic objectives and policy positioning.

Identify, foster and manage productive and impactful relationships with key communication and engagement stakeholders, including press contacts, communications specialists in partner organizations, and key partners for outputs and events.

Promote an innovative approach to communications using all media, staying abreast of advancements in the profession to ensure the Capitals Coalition can make best use of a mix of communication channels.

Drive creative insights and strategic thinking across the Capitals Coalition with respect to communications to maximize impact and reach.

Build relationships by representing the Coalition on external working groups, at events, and in the media as appropriate.

Support, prepare and coach staff, spokespeople and board members for media interviews and visits and provide guidance across the organization about dealing with the media.

Manage the Capitals Coalition’s in-house communications team including setting objectives, leading on annual appraisals, and recruitment.

As a member of the Leadership Team, support the Executive Team in fostering cohesion and collaboration across the Capitals Coalition.

Take on additional tasks as required to support the delivery of the Capitals Coalition’s strategic and operational plans.
What we’re looking for

12+ years of experience in strategic communications and/or PR and at least 5 years of experience managing others;

Experience developing and executing a communications strategy for a global organization, using knowledge of how communications supports the delivery of wider organizational goals;

Experience developing, supporting and executing advocacy campaigns;

Experience in economic transformation, new economics or sustainability fields including excellent understanding of economic transformation, sustainability and business issues and ability to anticipate and adapt messaging in relation to context and audience;

Ability to summarize and synthesize complex reports, findings and information to make them accessible for a diverse audience;

Knowledge of branding and design is an asset;

Proven leadership with seasoned judgment, the ability to make decisions, justify recommendations and be responsive, clear and firm with colleagues and partners;

Comfortable advising and engaging with subject matter experts and senior leaders;

Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, motivate, and lead colleagues;

Experience working independently and also collaboratively with a small team, and comfort with adapting to changing situations;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
