About Us
Founded in 2007, KHULA Education is an award-winning South African NGO working in partnership with rural schools and underserved communities in deep rural South Africa to ensure children and youth can access a quality education and economic opportunity.
Over the past 17 years, KHULA has transformed schools that were previously failing into schools that compete at the national level; supported hundreds of young people to access tertiary education opportunities; and helped hundreds more on the path to employment. Each year, we support over 6,500 children, youth and more than 300 teachers.
About the Role
KHULA Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising leader to lead KHULA’s fundraising and communication efforts in the UK and South Africa. The postholder will join us at an exciting time and help us to continue our growth trajectory which has seen our annual budget increase from £250,000 to £1 million in the past several years. Supported by the South Africa based CEO, and working closely with the UK Board of Trustees, the postholder will be joined by a new Fundraising Officer who you will line manage.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual with strategic vision who will play an active part in developing KHULA’s future fundraising strategy. 70% of the role is focused on fundraising directly for our work, 30% on managing KHULA’s communications including donor newsletters and social media content (this may evolve with the recruitment of an Officer).
Key Responsibilities
- Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. The post holder is responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors, leading donor meetings and involving our Board and CEO as appropriate.
- Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
- External communications: creating our quarterly e-newsletter to a database of ~2,000 supporters, managing our social media channels and the Annual Report, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
- Fundraising innovation: leading on innovation in our fundraising approach, including creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings whilst considering cost effectiveness and ROI. Of particular interest is how to harness the giving potential of guests who are exposed to KHULA Education’s work when they visit Fugitives’ Drift Lodge in Rorke’s Drift.
- Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database, working with the CEO to prepare our annual budget and fundraising forecasts.
Person Specification
Ideally you’ll have held a role with a similar scope of responsibilities around fundraising and communications, however you don’t need to have held a director level role before. Experience in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as you’ll need to be comfortable with both the strategic development side and inputting into wider planning, as well as being a leader who is willing to role up your sleeves and ‘do’.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who demonstrate most/all of the following attributes:
- A proven track record of personally delivering income of at least £1 million per year, including new business
- Experience in a fundraising leadership role and confidence in working alongside and advising at board level
- Experience in successfully fundraising from trusts, foundations, major donors and corporates, with experience in other areas (events, legacies etc.) also welcome
- Excellent proposal and donor communication writing skills (written samples of previous work will be requested)
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously with a largely virtual team
- Comfortable acting in the capacity of charity ambassador, establishing new relationships and identifying new funding opportunities
- Ability to travel to occasional donor and board meetings (x3 per year), in/around London and annual trip to South Africa for 1-2 weeks.

Key Responsibilities
1. Charity Governance: Working with the ELT and the charity’s Board of Trustees and Committees to lead the charity. Communicating progress against KPIs and challenges effectively, overseeing budgets and risk, and identifying resources needed.
2. Charity Leadership: Working with ELT, to act as an internal and external figurehead for the charity, embodying its culture and modelling its values, and supporting the development of staff across the organisation.
3. Executive Decision Making: Working with SLT to make decisions on key charity priorities and policies, e.g. expansion plans, programme adaptations, major resourcing decisions, and recruitment of senior staff.
4. Business Development: Working with the charity’s CPO to source new business opportunities both in terms of growing and expanding the charity’s core programmes and identifying new innovations and funding. This includes managing key stakeholders (e.g., senior leaders in colleges, sixth forms and training providers).
5. Operations and Finances: Working with the COO to ensure the financial stability of the charity and protecting and managing the charity’s assets.
6. Impact: Overseeing the work of the Director of Impact to ensure that the charity strengthens its approach to monitoring and evaluation, and that all preparations are successfully completed ahead of a potential independent external evaluation of our core programme in 25/26.
7. External Affairs: Overseeing both our fundraising and advocacy workstreams, including the development of relationships with new funders and politicians and policymakers. Representing the charity at external events (including certain conferences and fundraising events), and safeguarding the charity’s reputation and values, ensuring that risks are properly recognised and mitigated.
Required Experience / Characteristics
- Clear commitment to the work of the charity, its mission and its values
- A proven senior leader, with experience of delivering against ambitious targets across multiple departments or programmes and working with a Board of Trustees or directors
- An excellent relationship builder, including the development of commercial relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g., in the education sector, third sector and/or government)

Not Beyond Redemption was established by leading Family lawyer, Camilla Baldwin, to ensure that family law advice and representation is available not just to those who could afford it, but also to those who need it most. Maintaining a healthy and supportive relationship with family while in prison is crucial to reducing reoffending rates and improving rehabilitation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executive Support:
- Manage the Founder’s inbox, draft and send emails on their behalf, and schedule appointments.
- Arrange and coordinate meetings for the Founder with internal and external parties.
Financial Management:
- Oversee online accountancy and manage payments through the online banking platform.
- Create cashflows and budgets to forecast income and expenditure, ensuring financial stability.
- Manage the relationship with the part-time accountant/bookkeeper, overseeing the production of annual accounts and reports.
- Handle organisational memberships and subscriptions (e.g., Information Commissioner’s Office, and Living Wage Foundation).
Operations Management:
- Organise monthly clinics at different prisons, coordinating with staff at prisons and partner law firms.
- Coordinate the remote clinics, ensuring that the clinics are staffed with volunteers.

Payroll Administration:

Fundraising Support:
- Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising to identify Charitable Trusts and Foundations for potential applications.
- Assist in drafting funding applications and meeting with Charitable Trusts and Foundations to secure donations.

- Keep fundraising documents updated, including the application tracker, fundraising calendar, and donations spreadsheet.
- Manage donation processes, ensuring accurate recording, acknowledgement, and stewardship of donors.
Communications and Marketing:

Trustees and Board Management:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.
- To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
- To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce.
- To support with the administration of programme activity by attending and writing minutes for key meetings, drawing up programme contracts, aiding with diary management, filing, liaising with key personnel, and conducting phone or zoom conversations as needed.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children a hope and a future. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our award winning (Sunday Times Best Not for Profit to work for) team as Supporter Development Fundraising Lead.
The Supporter Development Fundraising Lead will play a crucial role. We are looking for a high energy, passionate fundraiser who is highly relational. You will work towards the income targets including regular, one off and mission pot donations. We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.
About the Hearings Panel
The Hearings Panel’s work relates to our Fitness to Practise functions. The Panel consists of around 70 members, lay (non-registrant) and registrant, from whom members of our Fitness to Practise Committees (FtPCs) and Registration Appeals Committees (RACs) are drawn. As a lay chair member of our Hearings Panel, you will chair either FtPCs or RACs.
You do not have to be a legally qualified individual or have specialist medical knowledge for this role. We are looking for individuals who can chair meetings effectively and impartially, ensure that allegations are considered fairly and independently, and that standards are maintained for registrants and the protection of the public.
A FtPC considers whether a registrant’s fitness to practise is impaired and imposes sanctions if appropriate to do so. This includes considering allegations, hearing evidence, and determining the fitness to practise, train or carry on business of our registrants.
A FtPC also determines whether it is necessary for interim measures (suspension or conditions) to be put in place whilst an investigation is in progress for the protection of members of the public or in the interests of a registrant.
A RAC considers an appeal against a decision by our Registrar to refuse to enter or restore an individual or business to the appropriate register; and applications for restoration by former registrants who have been erased by the FtPC.

Remuneration and time commitment
This role requires a commitment of approximately 16-20 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS teams, but on occasion may be held at our offices in Central London.
A daily fee of £372 is paid in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule, and expenses can also be claimed.

Our Fundraising Officer is a new role for the organisation. With recent investment in Fundraising at OCT, we’re at a unique and exciting point in the team development. We’re looking for flexible, focused individual to join our team to help deliver sustainable income for our well documented programmes. This role will be important in developing the OCT as the leading Ocean conservation charity in the UK, generating significant new revenue streams to drive the Charity’s ambition.
The post holder will play a key role in delivering positive data driven, donor led relationships to build sustainable charitable income with a focus on core programmes – Habitats, Advocacy and Experiences as well as unrestricted funding. They will support and report directly to the Head of Fundraising to deliver the Fundraising Strategy across all income streams including community fundraising, individual giving, memberships, corporate partnerships, grants and legacies. You will have experience in fundraising and CRMs. Experience in relationship management and the CRM Raisers Edge is an advantage.
You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic to generate long-term working relationships with all stakeholders. You will need to be a self-starter, as much of the time you will be working autonomously and managing your own time. You will be provided with the necessary resources and support from the team based in Plymouth.
This is a permanent position of 37.5 hours per week. The salary will range from £25,000 - £27,500 per annum, depending on experience. Hybrid and remote working will be considered, but regular travel to Plymouth will be expected for team meetings and other face to face activity.

- Experience of developing bespoke fundraising proposals for trusts and foundations, or grant giving bodies.

About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reprieve team as our Head of Mass Engagement covering parental leave.
With the support of the Deputy Director of Development, you will lead our fast‐moving and creative Mass Engagement Team to:
- Power Individual Giving and Public Fundraising across multiple channels.
- Engage our community of supporters (currently about 95,000 people in the UK and 9,000 in the US) to donate and take action for Reprieve
- Inspire others to support Reprieve’s work, running campaigns across our social channels.
Our Mass Engagement work is at a pivotal moment. Reprieve’s income from through regular and individual giving, generated largely by email fundraising, has experienced a drop with many of our supporters understandably reassessing their charitable giving in the face of the economic crisis.
You will oversee the delivery and implementation of Reprieve’s recently launched Mass Engagement strategy. You will be energised to bring your skills, experience and knowledge to implement and deliver these plans, testing opportunities to diversify and grow the programme.
The Mass Engagement team works closely with the wider Development Team and colleagues across the organisation, supporting each other to reach their objectives.
About you
You will have a deep level of skill and expertise in mass fundraising, either through Individual Giving, Digital or Community and Events, with demonstrable experience managing a budget and making decisions about the best use of resources to deliver income targets.

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting individuals with barriers to work into paid employment. Within this role you will carry a significant responsibility, managing a caseload of clients from a refugee background and supporting them in securing meaningful employment, training, and education opportunities.
You will provide one-to-one personalised support, delivering quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG), alongside ongoing support to ensure your clients have all the skills they need to get into work. This involves working with clients to produce individual action plans with clear goals and actions to overcome identified needs and barriers and provide a clear pathway towards the labour market.
You will work with clients online and by phone, as well as in person to monitor their progress towards their goals. Complementary support will be delivered through our volunteers who are trained in delivering employment advice, and you will book weekly appointments for clients, allocating time slots according to availability and the volunteer’s specialty.
You will also work with specialist referral partners to support clients to overcome complex barriers to employment. We offer a strong team environment, where your ideas and drive will be welcomed and where you as an individual can make a real difference to people’s lives.
